Tristan Rogers exiting The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless appears to be trimming its roster. Tristan Rogers has posted on Twitter that his time on the top-rated CBS soap may be drawing to a close. Rogers joined Y&R in December 2010.

Could Tristan Rogers (Colin Atkinson) be on his way out of The Young and the Restless? That's the question many fans are asking after the actor made a mysterious post on Twitter.

"[S]eems Colin is leaving GC," Rogers wrote, referencing his fictional character's Genoa City residence.

Rogers has made no additional posts to elaborate on his statement, and a show spokesperson had no comment.

Tristan Rogers joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as Colin Atkinson in December 2010. His addition to the Y&R cast was seen as somewhat of a casting coup, because daytime fans didn't expect the Australian-born star to stray from his best-known role as Robert Scorpio on General Hospital.

Rogers appeared as a contract player on General Hospital from 1980 to 1992. He returned to the ABC soap for guest appearances in 2006 and 2008. Rogers also appeared as Robert on the GH spin-off, Night Shift, and in a recurring role on The Bold and the Beautiful.

In recent years, Rogers, an unabashed fan of the soap opera genre, has been critical of decisions made by daytime executives in the wake of declining ratings.

A final airdate for Rogers has not been made available.
