As their qualities matched, Sheldon and Amy got acquainted with each other quite easily.

As the story progresses, Amy becomes one of the closest people to Sheldon, marrying the character by the end of the series. Amy had claimed to make it her mission to outshine the couple and make it her special day, not missing the point of voicing it out in front of everyone.
