Clarly & (orig) Brennan had chemistry off the charts. Too bad he wanted to leave. And, just after their first smoking hot kiss! I apprecaite a similar "look" with the new actor (and will give him every chance!) -- not like the horrible Jagger recast -- but I did also like the fact that Brennan looked a bit older -- after all, Anna was a spy in the 80s. The actress is 65 yrs old, so that tracks. Even Valentine's protrayer is 56 so conceivably doable for playing his spy experience. Charles Mesure is only 54 but he looked and played slightly older well, especially with the grey hair. The new actor is only 47. He looks it. He just doesn't look old enough to have been with Anna & Val back then. And he's American. They've built so much into even talking about Brennan's charming accent. Fingers crossed for this character coupling! but ... sigh
