You can update a username/handle, but not the creation date. The pages are new, created on January 12, 2025. If you had personally chosen to follow these pages, it would have been after January 12 and their names would have been Eagle1600 1, Eagle1600 2, Eagle1600 3, and Eagle1600 4 before updating on January 20. You can find this information in the page transparency section. You can find the date you followed the pages in your Activity Log. Katie Harbath, Facebook's former public policy director for global elections, confirmed, "It was decided that under the assumption that people are following the institution - regardless of who's in it - that the followers would be mirrored over, copied over to the new page." According to this statement, we were not given a choice. Facebook forced our accounts to automatically follow the new pages. (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/meta-users-following-trump-facebook-instagram/) The statement by Andy Stone, META's communication director, on Threads is deceptive and untrue. This was not the same procedure followed during the last presidential transition. In 2021, the followers for "@POTUS," "@VicePresident," and "@FLOTUS" were duplicated from their personal pages, not from the pages of the people who previously held the username/handle or position, with the exception of the official White House page. (https://www.axios.com/2021/01/20/facebook-instagram-transfer-accounts-followers-biden-administration) The standard FB procedure when updating a handle is that your existing followers will remain associated with your new handle; they will continue to follow you under the new username. The is why the President Joe Biden Archived page did not lose any followers when it's username/handle was updated to "@Potus46archive." The actual page, we had personally chosen to follow, was not taken over by the new administration. (https://www.facebook.com/Potus46archive)
