I have seen some posters saying Joss committed murder because, supposedly, she broke into "Cyrus's house." It is that contention I am arguing against.

That has nothing to do with the matter at hand: when she shot Cyrus, she was NOT breaking into his "home." So the Castle Doctrine does not apply. It's weak sauce to think, as some are arguing, that a person who is in the lair of a serial killer and is found there by that serial killer is somehow in the wrong legally for being there.
