This fan didn't get anything she wanted. Victor and Nikki are tired, old and boring. So sick of the Newmans getting away with everything! Victor is constantly trying to get the Abbotts and that is getting old! Chadam 3.0 is boring and so is Silly! Lily is getting on my last nerve with her 'I'm going to protect my family at all costs' ranting and raving! Why is it ok for Nate to be deceptive towards Damien, but Damien can't be deceptive towards Nate? I'm not even interested in the Aristotle Dumas storyline, as we fans have been deceived one too many times with villians coming onto the show and their storylines end up fizzling out...especially when the villians go up against the Gruesome Newmans! The only story I'm remotely interested in is the Tralan/Macey story. I feel for Tracey...she doesn't deserve the unhappiness that is about to befall her. My viewing time for Y&R has been significantly reduced because of boring couples, old and tired rivalries and just plain tired storytelling!
"Looks like Chadam is on again so welcome to the ride..." No thank you! Chadam 3.0 is about as interesting to me as watching paint dry! One of the biggest mistakes Y&R made is breaking up Sadam! Both Silly and Chadam 3.0 are boring to watch and I purposely DID NOT watch the pathetic Chadam love scene this past Friday! Not that I was a fan of Tralan, but Tracy is my favorite Abbott and it will be sad to see her get her heart broken. Oh why oh why did Alan have to be evil twin Martin instead???
Mike, your analysis of 'Beyond the Gates' is so spot on! I am loving this soap more and more with each episode. I too agree that Dani needs to let go and move on, but IRL we all know that doesn't happen, no matter how many times he or she is told to do so or no matter how many times he or she says they are going to or have moved on. The suspense is great and very refreshing. Each character has their own story, their own vice, their own flair and it is so good to watch. This show truly has something relatable to everyone and I am all for watching more of 'Beyond the Gates'!
Viewer beware! If there are any Tridge fans out there, enjoy the upcoming Tridge love scene while you can! Don't fall for the okey doke...the fake promise of Rigid Horrorster Moron finally choosing a woman as his one and only! I can't believe that here it is over 30 years later and TIIC still have Brooke and Taylor wanting this loser! Seriously! I've stopped watching due to, among many things, the insanity of King Waffler bouncing from Brooke to Taylor and vice versa! How demeaning for either woman to believe that they are the chosen one, especially when it is so obvious who Rigid loves the most...HIMSELF! I'll continue to read the Two Scoops, but I won't waste my time watching this pitiful excuse of a soap!
I find Y&R boring beyond belief right now, Summer is so infuriating with her petty jealousy! Summer acted the same way when Kyle and Lola were together and we fans got boring Skyle instead if the fresh, new Kola. While I don't find Kyle and Claire interesting at all, that pairing is better than Skyle on any given day. I thought we viewers would get some new, fresh material to view, but alas here we are again with yet another Sharon kidnapped story. Seriously??? Can't the writers think of anything else now? Adding Phyllis to this story does nothing for me but bore me to tears! I'll be glad when the 'kidnapper' is revealed! Victor is nauseating...just recovered from getting shot and all he wants to do is brood and sulk and plot revenge against Jack...again! Come on TPTB...please give the viewers something good to watch!
Great article, Mike! I am so loving BTG right now. I know it's not perfect, but what soap is? This show is so good and the characters are so believable! I love the fact that a family of color is front and center...as you stated and asked, it's about time and why did it take so long? I also like the intrigue and the numerous scandals that have been brought forth. Due to my boredom with Y&R and the idiocy of B&B, I am so glad that I have something else to watch. I'm not invested in any couples and I am content with getting to know each of the players. I believe Bill knows what Martin has done and he probably did one of his 'make the charges go away' magic tricks, which is why he was able to 'demand' that the Duprees show up for the wedding. I also have to respectfully disagree with your take on Bill. If what Dani said was true, Bill cheated all thru their marriage, which makes him a scoundrel IMO. Hayley had better watch herself...what goes around certainly does come around. Hayley just may find herself sitting on the sidelines watching Bill marry someone younger than her in 5 to 10 years. This truly is a soap with a multitude of representation and has someone that almost anyone can relate to! Bravo Michele Van Jean! Bravo CBS!
I can't wait until the premiere of Beyond the Gates. What with the boring 'drama' of Y&R and the ridiculousness of B&B, I need something new to invest my time in. Heck, at this point, if someone wrote a soap about cats and dogs, I'd watch that, too!
"WORST PARTNERS: Adam and Chelsea!" I absolutely, unequivocally, 100% agree with this statement! Melissa Claire Egan had mad chemistry with Michael Muhney's Adam and Justin Hartley's Adam, but she has ZERO chemistry with Mark Grossman's Adam IMO! The fact that TIIC refuse to (or don't want to) see this makes me believe that they do not care what works or what Y&R fans want! I turn the channel whenever Chadam 3.0 is on my screen and will not allow TIIC to force-feed this boring retread down my throat! Pairing a couple just because it is what their child wants NEVER works and is a tired plot point! I miss Sadam and will NEVER support the pairings of Chadam 3.0 or Silly (Billy & Sally)!
I sure hope that the unemployed Audra and Billy don't cause Sally to lose her great job at Marchetti! Billy asking Sally to play hooky from work and Audra telling Sally to not let a spontaneous rendezvous with Billy slip away was ridiculous! I like that Sally finally has a career she can be happy with and I don't want Baudra to interfere with that! On another note, I am so sick of the sugary feels everyone has for Claire! All this praise and worship of Claire is nauseating! The clothes Nikki and Victoria picked out for Claire's first day at work didn't look anything like work attire; the dress looked more like something one would wear to a concert or a club!
