A double whammy rumor has hit the soap world: reports indicate contract negotiations between General Hospital and its popular star Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber) aren't going so well, leaving Sony and Days of our Lives waiting to snag the actress for Salem.
Could a major soap switch be on the horizon for yet another General Hospital star? That seems to be a possibility, as new reports indicate contract negotiations between the ABC soap and one of it's most popular stars, Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber), have hit a serious rough patch.
Daytime Confidential reports that talks between the California native and GH have stalled due to an impasse, leaving Sony's Days of our Lives in the waiting, hoping to snatch the actress for Salem.
Herbst joined GH in the role of Dr. Jeff Webber's (Richard Dean Anderson) daughter in 1997. She quickly became a fan favorite in storylines like the young adult romance between Liz and Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and has remained popular with storylines like the recent twist involving the nurse and Billy Miller's Jason Morgan.
In 2011, soap fans -- and Herbst's costars -- were stunned when the actress was let go from GH. Fan outcry was so loud that the show eventually relented and re-signed the Emmy-nominated actress.
How crushed would you be to lose Herbst from Port Charles? Do you think she'd fit in well at DAYS? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
