Roger Howarth lands recurring role on Californication

One of General Hospital's baddest villains has found a little zen. Roger Howarth has landed a recurring role on the Showtime series Californication. Howarth currently appears as GH's Franco, and as Todd Manning on One Life to Live.

Roger Howarth (Franco, General Hospital; Todd Manning, One Life to Live) has landed yet another acting gig. The actor will be appearing in a multiple-episode arc on Showtime's Californication -- but fans will have to wait patiently to see him.

Deadline was first to report the news of Howarth landing the series.

Howarth will play the role of Chris, a yoga teacher, when the series returns to the airwaves in 2014. An exact airdate has yet to be announced.

Roger Howarth originated the role of Todd Manning in December 1992. He remained with One Life to Live, off and on, through 2003. For the following seven years, Howarth played the role of Paul Ryan on As the World Turns. Howarth returned to One Life to Live in 2011, but upon the series' cancellation, Howarth's Todd Manning was transported to General Hospital in March 2012. Howarth remained as Todd on GH until One Life to Live's relaunch on the Internet in April.

A legal dispute between ABC and Prospect Park over the use of the One Life to Live characters resulted in General Hospital creating a new role for Howarth -- and two other One Life to Live transplants, Kristen Alderson and Michael Easton.
