Ladies of the Lake has added General Hospital's Kathleen Gati (Dr. Obrecht) to its star-studded cast.
General Hospital's Kathleen Gati (Dr. Obrecht) is once again diving into the delicious land of Michael Caruso, this time in the Emmy-winning producer's digital drama Ladies of the Lake.
Gati has joined the cast of the critically acclaimed Amazon series as Margaret Cranston, the mother of Crystal Amhurst (Jessica Morris, ex-Jennifer Rappaport, One Life to Live).
"I watched the first season of Ladies of the Lake and thought it was a fantastic series!" says Gati in an official statement. "And the last time I worked with Michael Caruso [executive producer/writer], on another fun project of his, Winterthorne, the material was so incredible, I was nominated for an Emmy! I trust Michael and his enormous talent explicitly and can't wait to be a part of his second season of Ladies of the Lake."

The juicy drama, based on the book of the same name by Days of our Lives' executive producer Ken Corday and co-produced by former DAYS star Kyle Lowder (ex-Brady Black), tells the story of the glamorous residents of the Southern California community of Avalon and the dark secrets they hide behind their perfect faades.
"Margaret Cranston was a character from the original novel I had to remove to streamline the story, but the second season provides the perfect opportunity to bring her into the fold, and I can't think of a better actress than Kathleen to bring her to life," Caruso reveals. "When I began writing, I knew immediately that I had to have Kathleen's extraordinary talent involved in the show. Kathleen's fans can expect lots of fun zingers and a bold look that matches Margaret's larger than life personality."
The four-episode second season will star original cast members Marie Wilson (ex-Summer Townsend, DAYS), Morris, Lilly Melgar (ex-Lily Rivera, GH), Jillian Clare (ex-Abigail Deveraux, DAYS), and Lowder. Arianne Zucker (Nicole, DAYS) is also scheduled to return, but this time as a series regular character.
Gati will appear in three of the four episodes in the second season, which begins filming in late January.
