Grey's Anatomy has cast Guiding Light alum Bethany Joy Lenz (ex-Michelle Bauer) in a new recurring role just as viewers say goodbye to Abigail Spencer (ex-Becca Tyree, All My Children).
Florida native Bethany Joy Lenz is going back to her soap opera roots with her latest role: the Guiding Light alum (ex-Michelle Bauer) has been cast on the primetime drama Grey's Anatomy.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that she has been tapped to play the recurring role of Jenny for season fourteen of the popular series. Nothing else is known about the character at this time, other than the fact that she's likely to be completely captivating. After all, Lenz not only won the hearts of daytime fans during her 1998 to 2000 stint on GL, but she's gone on to wow in various other roles, as well.
Some credits Lenz boasts on her rsum include One Tree Hill, The Guardian, Dexter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Colony.

Grey's Anatomy is actually Lenz's second trip in a Shonda Rhimes production. The actress was among the original cast of ABC's The Catch but was recast when the now-defunct series went in a different direction after the pilot episode.
In other Grey's Anatomy/soap opera-related news, Abigail Spencer (ex-Becca Tyree, All My Children) has wrapped up her stint on the primetime series. News that she had joined the show as recurring character Dr. Megan Hunt broke earlier this summer.
