Good news, General Hospital fans! Tristan Rogers is reprising his role as Robert Scorpio.
Hot on the heels of the news that Kimberly McCullough is returning to General Hospital as Robin Scorpio comes word that the character's on-screen dad, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), is also coming home to the ABC soap.
The actor, who's most recently been playing The Young and the Restless' Colin Atkinson, will make a triumphant return to GH in December.
"Scorpio is such a beloved legacy character who evokes a sense of nostalgia and I know the fans have been patiently waiting for Tristan's return," teased the show's executive producer, Frank Valentini. "I share their sentiments and enthusiasm and that of our entire GH team in welcoming him home. It's been a fantastic week of casting announcements for GH, but it's not over yet!"

Rogers also commented on his Port Charles return, enthusing, "I am delighted to be visiting my GH family once again and look forward to what Robert Scorpio has in store." He later followed up on Twitter, writing, "We all getting ready for a Scorpio return? I have no idea what the story is and I'm not asking. But it will be fun."
In addition to Rogers and McCullough returning, GH recently announced that both Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) and Genie Francis (Laura Spencer) have extended their time with the show and will be appearing "for years to come."
Rogers originated the role of Robert Scorpio in 1980 and was last seen as the character in January of 2014. There's no word yet on how returning to GH will affect his Y&R role.
UPDATE (October 29, 2015) While Rogers is set to reprise his role as GH's Robert Scorpio, he will not be leaving the role of Y&R's Colin to do so. "Tristan is only visiting Port Charles for a very short time," the actor's rep explains. "Tristan will continue with Y&R as Colin. Tristan and I do not want the fans to be misguided in any way."
Adds the actor via Twitter: "Looking forward to seeing old faces. Let's have some good times."
