Tap into your inner creativity and join General Hospital gals Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) and Emme Rylan (Lulu Spencer) for a summer Knit Along that's perfect for both beginners and experts.
If you're a fan of General Hospital's Emme Rylan (Lulu Spencer), we're pretty sure you've frequently checked out her knitting creations on her Instagram page and thought, "I wish I could make that." And if you're Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones), then you agree!
The actress recently took to social media to share that she has been inspired by her GH costar, whom she is joining for a summer Knit Along. And the best part is that the ladies are inviting fans -- both beginners and knitting experts -- to join them on their DIY knitting adventure!
"If you've ever looked at @emmerylan's Instagram page and thought 'I wish I could make that!' (I know I have), the time has come! We are getting ready to begin our summer Knit Along!" Storms shared on Instagram. "If you are new to knitting.... do not be scared -- we are doing a Knit Along for you too!"
The "New Knitter" project will be an easy-to-make purse, while more skilled knitters can join the actresses in making a handmade cardigan. Both projects will include videos with instructions and tips, and both Storms and Rylan will be frequently checking in with fans to see how projects are coming along and to answer questions via the hashtag #summerknitalongwithEmandK
In order to gets fans prepared for the knitting ahead, Storms shared the specific supplies needed for each project. They are as follows:
New Knitter Purse
"Supplies needed for the *Purse Pattern* are: Size 13 knitting needles (straight or circular), measuring tape, 4 skeins/balls of @lionbrandyarn Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn (best color selection would be on their website, but the yarn is available at @joann_stores) and a darning needle to sew the project together when we are done," she wrote. "Videos will be posted, on our Instagram pages, to show how to 'Cast on' and do a 'Knit stitch' (don't worry, you will be able to watch the videos multiple times), but you can always hop on YouTube when you get your supplies and start practicing."
Downtown Cardigan
"For those who have knit before, we are doing the 'Downtown Cardigan' pattern which is available in a kit on the @lionbrandyarn website www.lionbrand.com and it comes with the yarn," Storms shared. "Or you can purchase just the pattern on LoveKnitting.com (Emme and I will be using the Lion Brand Color Made Easy yarn that comes with the kit) Supplies for this pattern are listed IN the pattern, so if you'd like to join this project please download or order it soon!"
The actress continues: "Start posting pics when you get your supplies and check back in to our Instagram pages for videos that will be coming soon!! We can't wait to knit with you guys!"
