General Hospital has hired One Life to Live actress Bree Williamson to play the role of Claudette, Nathan's first (and presumably ex-) wife.
After months of mentioning her name, General Hospital has finally found an actress to bring Claudette to the screen. The show has tapped One Life to Live favorite Bree Williamson (ex-Jessica Buchanan), according to a report by Daytime Confidential.
During her nine years in the fictional town of Llanview, Williamson received three consecutive Outstanding Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy nominations. Since One Life to Live ended its run on ABC in 2012, Williamson has found frequent employment in primetime: she's made appearances on Castle, Chicago Fire, Deception, and Haven. Williamson was not part of OLTL's brief Internet revival.
Back in February, a hospitalized Nathan West muttered the name Claudette. After weeks of lying, Nathan confessed that Claudette was his ex-wife. In that time, the Internet has speculated wildly about Claudette -- everything from the character being transgender to an existing character who underwent plastic surgery.

ABC has not yet responded to requests for a statement. Williamson, however, seemingly confirmed the news on her own in a tweet with the hashtags "#GH" and "#Excited."
UPDATE:Williamson spoke with Soap Opera Digest yesterday about her first day on the GH set."It was a wild day yesterday," Williamson told the magazine. She describes her character as "spicy and a bad girl." Williamson also beamed about reuniting with her former OLTL co-stars, Michael Easton and Roger Howarth, saying, "This is going to be fun!"Williamson makes her GH debut on Tuesday, July 5.
