Can't get enough of General Hospital? Now, if your cable goes out, you don't have cable, or your VCR or TiVo didn't record the show, you can watch episodes of the long-running ABC soap online.
Fans of General Hospital have another way to catch up on their favorite soap. The show now airs online.
"We are excited to collaborate with the ABC.com team to offer our viewers another way to get their daily dose of General Hospital," said Brian Frons, President Daytime, Disney ABC Television Group. "As part of our ongoing strategic effort to grow our audience and increase awareness of our shows."
ABC will also post episodes of its daytime talk show, The View.
Fans will be able to watch the last five episodes of General Hospital directly on the ABC.com web site. Each episode is shown with limited commercial interruptions. New episodes are added at 5:00a.m. ET on the day after they aired. For example, a show airing on Monday will be available online Tuesday morning at 5:00a.m.
Same-day repeats of General Hospital will continue to air on SOAPnet and, of course, Soap Central will continue to provide comprehensive recaps of every episode.
As for the addition of the two remaining soaps to the online lineup, an ABC Daytime spokesperson tells Soap Central, "We are excited to see how it goes with General Hospital and The View and will go from there about All My Children and One Life To Live."
