How to Train Your Dragon is an animated fantasy movie series, adapted from the book of the same name, written by British author Cressida Cowell. The movie series revolves around Hiccup, who is shown as the son of the chieftain Stoik the Vast. Hiccup lacks in size and strength like the other Vikings, but is more intelligent and crafty as compared to others.


Hiccup’s story in the movie turns upside down when he, while determined to gain his father’s love and attention, accidentally shoots down a Night Fury, a rare species of dragon. Upon meeting it in the flesh, Hiccup gave up the ideology of killing dragons and befriended the beast. In doing so Hiccup found a new purpose, which was bringing harmony between Vikings and dragons.

Snotlout has been part of the franchise since the first movie and is a good friend to Hiccup. He is quite annoying and arrogant as a character, but he has been a loyal comrade to Hiccup and the group since the first time all of them rode dragons together. Snotlout does have a crush on Astrid and the character cannot stop flaunting his muscles to impress her with his strength. While that was the case, after seeing Hiccup and Astrid going out together, Snotlout stopped his pursuit of Astrid, indicating his loyalty and friendship to Hiccup.

In his appearance, Snoltout is seen as a muscular guy wearing a helmet with spiral sheep horns, dark gray bracers on his arms, and matching fur boots. While his base appearance does not change in How to Train Your Dragon 2, in the 3rd movie, Snotlout Jorgenson is shown to have more facial hair, armor made from Hookfang's scales, and the horns on his helmet are shown to be much larger. Snotlout’s first dragon went by the name of Hookface which was capable of infusing itself with fire.
