Three-time Emmy winner Sarah Brown will join the cast of Days of our Lives later this year. The actress has appeared previously on As the World Turns, General Hospital, and The Bold and the Beautiful. Brown was taken off contract with B&B earlier this year.
Emmy winner Sarah Brown will join the cast of Days of our Lives this fall. Brown, a veteran of three daytime drama series, will join DAYS in the role of a newly created character.
"Days of our Lives is one of television's historic gems," Brown said in a statement. "I'm excited to join such a talented cast to portray such a strong yet feminine character that will inspire our female viewers."
Brown will play Madison James, "a powerful CEO who takes on Sami as a protege."

"We are thrilled to have Sarah join our family at DAYS," Greg Meng, co-executive producer, remarked. "We needed a strong actress who can mold this character and go toe-to-toe with other strong actresses such as Alison Sweeney and Lauren Koslow. Madison defines a new femininity, displaying confidence, savvy, and elegance."
Brown, a three-time Emmy winner, joined The Bold and the Beautiful in November 2009, fresh from a run as Claudia Zacchara on ABC's General Hospital. Brown was granted an early out from her GH contract in order to allow her to take the role on B&B. However, Brown's screen time on B&B quickly dried up, and earlier this year Brown was dropped to recurring status on the CBS soap.
Brown began her daytime run in April 1996 as General Hospital's Carly Corinthos. She remained with the ABC soap for five years. Her work as Carly earned Brown three Daytime Emmys. She won back-to-back Outstanding Younger Actress trophies in 1997 and 1998, and in 2000 she took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. She returned to GH in January 2008 as Claudia.
In between General Hospital gigs, Brown found time to appear as another daytime bad girl during a six-month run as Julia Larrabee on CBS's As the World Turns.
Brown's hiring marks the first high-profile hiring for Days of our Lives since the show named a new head writing team and executive producer in May.
Brown will first air on Days of our Lives on October 4.
