"It is with great sadness I have to tell you that Brad has decided to kill off the character of Taylor," says Tylo on her official web site. "He feels the character is too good and has too much integrity to take her down other paths."

A member of The Bold and the Beautiful cast since 1990, Tylo has been involved in a series of publication relations snafus over the past year. In October 2001, Tylo and show executives were unable to come to terms on a new contract for the actress. According to a message on Tylo's web site, the main sticking point was money.

A final airdate for Tylo was announced -- but just six weeks later, Tylo was back on the job. Tylo denied that her resigning was any sort of publicity stunt and also talked down internet postings that claimed that she had demanded a salary of $1 million per year. The terms of Tylo's new contract were not announced.

Prior to that, the actress twice signed six-month contract extensions with the most recent extension coming in April 2001.

A spokesperson for The Bold and the Beautiful declined to comment for this article.
