Catherine Hickland is headed back to One Life to Live. The multi-soap vet announced on Twitter that she'd been asked to reprise the role of Lindsay -- and happily agreed. Hickland last appeared on-screen in 2009.

One Life to Live is continuing its efforts to have fan favorites return to the show before it ends its run on ABC in January. Catherine Hickland (ex-Lindsay Rappaport) has confirmed that she will reprise her role as Lindsay in the weeks ahead.

"Ok, are you sitting down? OLTL has asked me to bring Miss Lindsay Rappaport to the dance [before] the end," Hickland announced via Twitter. "I said YES."

Hickland has been vocal in her support of One Life to Live and All My Children since ABC's announcement in April that both shows were being canceled. In fact, the actress attended a fan rally in the spring to show her support for the fans and those impacted by the two soaps' cancellations.

It's been more than two years since Hickland last appeared on One Life to Live. Hickland made her OLTL debut in May 1998 and remained with the show as a contract player through 2005. She appeared on a recurring basis over the next three years.

Since leaving One Life to Live, Hickland has released a book, The 30 Day Heartbreak Cure - A Guide to Getting Over Him and Back Out There One Month From Today, and focused on her line of beauty products, Cat Cosmetics. Hickland has also been touring the country with her informative and entertaining stage hypnosis show.

Prior to appearing on One Life to Live, Hickland appeared on Loving/The City, Capitol, and Texas.

Sources say Hickland will tape her scenes within the next week. A first airdate has not yet been announced.
