Brief Character History
In 1987, unwed teenager Harley Cooper gave birth to a baby girl whom she named Daisy. Unable to care for her daughter, Harley agreed to give her up for adoption to Harry (Jim) and Connie Lemay and they renamed the child Susan. Susan had a nice life with her new family but when her biological father, Dylan, appeared in Springfield in 1989, he and his friend Samantha Marler began working as Susan's babysitter by using false identities. Soon Harley was able to see her daughter again and she and her new husband, the wealthy Alan-Michael Spaulding, decided to buy Susan from the Lemays. The Lemays refused and when Alan-Michael told them Dylan's true identity, the Lemays fired Dylan and Sam. A furious Harley wanted to leave Alan-Michael but he, in an attempt to win her back, kidnapped Susan and wanted to start a new life with her and Harley in Australia. However, Harley decided to give Susan back to the Lemays, leaving her daughter behind a second time. In March 1994, Connie Lemay visited Dylan (now learned to be a member of the Lewis and Shayne families) and told him that Susan, now 8 years old, was diagnosed with a rare form of diabetes and that insulin wouldn't help. Connie stated that Susan had spent much time in hospitals the year before and had almost died but that a new but risky and expensive surgery would save her life. All Dylan had to do was to donate part of his pancreas. Dylan agreed and Susan recovered. Though the Lemays were grateful, they still refused to allow Dylan to see Susan.
In late 1998, Connie Lemay died of cancer and an pre-adolescent Susan was left alone with Jim. Desperately wanting a mother in her life, she ran away to Springfield in December to find Harley. Harley and her husband, Phillip Spaulding, welcomed Susan, but when Harley wanted to call Jim, Susan lied that Jim had changed after Connie's death and would be mean toward her. Susan begged Harley not to send her back and when Jim arrived, Harley convinced him to stay with Susan during the holidays. Susan was happy with Harley as her new mother and, to get her attention, she lied to Harley about having nightmares. In January 1999, when Susan was about to leave with her father, she faked being sick in order to stay. The only thing that could have made her life perfect was if Harley and Jim were together. Though Susan made every attempt to create a romance between the two, it was hopeless. Phillip disliked Susan in Harley's life and tried to convince his wife that Susan and Jim should live their own lives. Finally, Susan was forced to throw in the towel when Harley announced that she was pregnant with Phillip's child. Hurt, Susan left town with Jim. Later, Susan contacted Harley and apologized for the way she had acted and mother and daughter decided to stay in touch by phone without Phillip and Jim's knowledge. Not long after, a panicked Susan called Harley from the bus station because she had been caught stealing in a shop and was on the run. When Harley came to get her, a mugger attacked the two but Harley overpowered him and Jim arrived to save them. Phillip arrived, too, and he and Jim argued about Harley's intervention in Susan's life. Since Harley wanted her daughter in her life, Phillip offered Jim a position as an accountant at Spaulding so that they could remain in Springfield. Jim refused at first, not wanting to take a handout, but Phillip eventually convinced him that it was the best option for everyone involved. Not long after, the Nursery Rhyme Stalker, Holly Reade, kidnapped Susan and other kids. She brought the kids to an abandoned summer camp and wanted to be a better mother to them than their own mothers were. Susan got upset when Holly told her that Harley had abandoned Susan when she was a baby. Though Holly told the kids that the phones wouldn't work in winter, Susan saw through her lies and was skeptical for Holly's reason for the kidnapping. While Holly's brother, Ken Norris, blasted Holly for planning to give sedatives to the kids, Susan made a plan to escape with the kids. Unfortunately, Holly realized their plan and stopped them. Though the other kids were afraid of Holly, Susan remained brave and finally, all the children were rescued with the help of Susan’s grandmother, Reva Shayne Lewis. Later, Susan tried to play on Harley's jealousy by getting close to Phillip's ex-wife, Beth Raines. One day, Phillip overheard Susan asking questions about miscarriages and thinking that Harley could be in danger by her daughter, Phillip warned his wife. Jim was angry at Phillip's accusations and wanted to leave town to get away from Phillip's domineering character. But thanks to Harley and Beth, Phillip talked to Jim and convinced him to stay so that Susan could start a new life in Springfield.
Meanwhile, Susan caught an orphan named Max Nickerson (who lived with Drew Jacobs) stealing money from a pinball machine and the two became friends when Susan kept quiet about the theft. One day, Susan and Max sneaked into Susan's grandfather Buzz's restaurant, Company, to make a dinner. When Max began smoking and offered one to Susan, she refused due to Connie's death from cancer. Unfortunately, Susan didn't notice that Max threw the lit cigarette on the floor and a fire erupted. Trapped, Susan and Max were rescued by Cassie Layne but Company was destroyed. A furious Harley wanted to press charges against Max so he was sent to a foster home, However, Susan supported Max and one day, when Harley let her visit him, Susan helped Max to escape the foster home. Later, when Josh Lewis and Reva married for a second time, Susan officially met Dylan for the first time. The two immediately liked each other. Not long after, Susan skipped school to spend time with Max and they bonded over the loss of their mothers. Meanwhile, Susan wasn't happy with Jim spending so much time with Beth. When she learned how Beth tricked Jim into teaching her to play tennis in an attempt to get closer to him; she spitefully told her father. Jim only disapproved of Susan's behavior, while Susan wished a sincere woman in Jim's life, someone like Cassie. Later, when Susan learned that Jim and Beth were going on a business trip to the Bahamas, she decided to ruin their plans by sedating Beth's drink so that Beth would miss the flight. Unfortunately, she accidentally took the drink herself and when Max found her, Susan went swimming with him. Unfortunately, she was still too dazed and Max, despite the fact that he couldn't swim, had to save her from drowning. Max disapproved of Susan's arrogant behavior and when he platonically kissed her, Susan misinterpreted the kiss and Max was forced to tell her that she was too young for him. Meanwhile, Jim and Beth learned from Harley about Susan's disappearance and cancelled their trip. Having enough of Susan's behavior, Jim and Harley decided to bring Susan to a center for psychically disturbed children, something that Beth supported and Cassie disapproved of. Horrified, Susan climbed on the roof; she called Max and tried to convince him to run away with her. Though Max refused at first, he changed his mind. Susan and Max planned to meet each other at the grave of Max's mother but Jim overheard their phone talk and realized Susan's plans after rummaging through her things. He angrily vowed to bring her to the therapy center and when Drew and Jesse arrived, Susan told them Max's whereabouts after learning that Drew had plans to adopt him. But Max was gone and called Susan a "traitor" in a note. To Susan's shock, Jim actually took her to the therapy center and during a group meeting, Max suddenly arrived and he and Susan made up. Later, Jim arrived and apologized to Susan and brought her home, whereupon Susan reluctantly apologized to Beth. Not long after, while Susan and Max were at the renovated Company, Max's friends made fun of him due to Susan's age so that Max ended up going with his friends and leaving Susan behind. Though he later apologized to her, Susan remained upset until, one day, Max defended Susan from a friend who was nasty to her, and Susan forgave him. Unfortunately for Susan, Max still only wanted to remain friends with her. Meanwhile, Susan continued to disapprove of Beth but when she traveled to San Cristobel with her, Jim, Phillip and Harley to spend Thanksgiving with Cassie and Prince Richard Winslow, things changed. Phillip and Beth were called back on business and when Jim agreed to fly them in a private jet, the jet crashed. The three were rescued and the experience of nearly losing her father made Susan realize that she was wasting precious time by remaining angry with Beth, who did really love Jim. So Susan decided to accept Beth and she and Jim got engaged. In January 2000, Susan and Max found Beth's pre-natal pills and when Jim and Beth arrived, Jim mistakenly thought the teens had made love. He threw Max out of the house and an angry Susan announced Beth's pregnancy to him. Beth stated that she had recently learned about the pregnancy but Susan accused her of lying and thought that Jim wasn't the baby's father. However, Jim and Beth married anyway. Later, Susan was shocked to learn that Lizzie had leukemia, so she helped Lizzie and became closer to Beth again. However, when Lizzie recovered after a bone marrow transplantation by Beth's newborn son, James, Susan was shocked to learn that James wasn't Jim's son but Phillip's. Susan hated Beth again and was further shocked to learn that Max was about to move to New York with Drew and Jesse. Thinking he would stay if she slept with him, Susan began undressing but Harley arrived to stop her. Now Susan had plans for Jim to find a job in New York so that she could be near Max and far away from Beth. But then Jim announced that he had forgiven Beth and that they all would move to Chicago. Shocked, Susan wanted to stay with Harley and when Selena Davis accompanied Max and Drew to New York, Susan hid in the van and Max found her. When the van had problems, Selena, Max and Drew had to stay at a hotel but Max sneaked out to Susan and wanted to be intimate with her. Though Susan refused, Max confessed his love to her for the first time. However, thanks to Selena, Jim located Susan and brought her home but when Susan threatened to run away again, Harley convinced Jim to let her stay with her. Not long after, Max reappeared again, he confessed his love to Susan again and announced that he would spend the summer at Buzz and Selena's. As this was going on, Harley had forgiven Phillip his adultery to Susan’s disapproval. Not long after, Susan and Marah Lewis threw a party but it ended into chaos when a drunken boy attacked Susan and Max defended her by fighting with the boy. Harley arrived with the cops and when she threatened to inform Jim, Susan ran away. The police searched for her but all they found were one of her shoes. Though the police couldn’t discount the idea that Susan was dead, she was in reality hiding at the Lighthouse where newcomer Sam Spencer found her. Susan confided in him and after regretting her runaway act and seeing how worried everyone was, Susan returned home. Harley then explained to her the circumstances of Susan's adoption and mother and daughter reunited.
Soon after, Susan befriended Edmund Winslow who gave her some books he thought she would like. Meanwhile, Susan was impressed when Sam copied a CD and saw the opportunity to fund her trip to a concert of the band Nu Ground in Chicago, where she planned to go with Sam, Marah and Shayne. Sam convinced the unsuspecting Phillip to use his computer to make pirated CD's. Max tried to warn them that copying CD's was illegal but the others didn’t care and Tony Santos sold the CD's so that the teens were able to go to Chicago. However, when they returned home, they were shocked to learn that the FBI had visited their families and that the Spaulding computers had been confiscated. As this was going on, Max left Susan and she went to Nu Ground to convince the band to drop the matter. Though a guard stopped her, a band member named Andrew saw her and a desperate Susan responsibility for everything and to her delight, Nu Ground not only dropped the charges but visited Springfield, too. Later, Susan dreamt about Jim being in danger and sadly, her dream would come true. Shortly before Christmas, a fire broke out at the Lemay home and though Jim was able to rescue James and Lizzie, he couldn't rescue himself and tragically died. Susan and Beth watched the tragedy and when Harley tried to comfort her, Susan turned her back on her and let herself be comforted by Beth and Edmund instead. In 2001, when Beth moved with Edmund to San Cristobel, Edmund invited Susan to visit them and Harley reluctantly allowed Susan to do so. During the visit, Susan cautiously gave her approval to Edmund to woo Beth and angrily defended him toward everyone who disapproved of him, including Harley. In February, Susan and Harley finally made headway, with Susan admitting that she knew Harley loved her, and only wanted what was best for her. However, Susan felt out of place, unsure of where her life was. With Harley's permission, she left for a boarding school that focused on performing arts. Miraculously, she managed to mend fences with Phillip before she left. In May, Susan briefly returned to San Cristobel for Edmund's coronation, wishing him the best. After spending summer break with Harley in Florida, Susan returned to boarding school.
In 2007, Harley and her new husband, Gus Aitoro were planning on adopting an abandoned baby they found months earlier. Needing a statement from Harley’s firstborn, Harley and Gus decided to visit Susan at school, only to find that she wasn’t there. They also learned that Susan, who now went by Daisy, was not the sweet, innocent girl that Harley thought. Daisy’s friend suggested that she might be with a boy named Ryan, who in turn told the pair that Daisy hung out with older guys and made periodic visits to Springfield. Harley was devastated to learn that Daisy had made several visits to town, to see Reva, not her. Harley e-mailed Daisy asking her to come home ASAP. .Daisy called Harley and quickly makes excuses negating all of her concerns, however, in reality she was already in town with her boyfriend, Mark Gillespie. While Harley’s house was empty, the pair snuck in and Gillespie stole Gus’s gun while Daisy took some pills she washed down with beer. Later, that day, a strung-out Daisy was in the back seat of Gillespie’s car when suddenly he struck somebody. Gillespie ran out and Daisy was found by none other than Gus. After lying to Frank that there was no one in the car, Gus spirited Daisy off to the Beacon without informing Harley. He then took Daisy’s stash of drugs and informed her that her boyfriend, Gillespie, had struck her cousin, Tammy Winslow. While Daisy defended Gillespie and was certain that he’d done it by accident, Gus tried to convince her that her that he was a criminal who didn’t care about her. Later, Daisy confronted Gillespie, asking him if he hit Tammy on purpose, but Gillespie played with Daisy’s head and encouraged her to leave with him. Although she was tempted, Daisy was reluctant to just abandon Gus and Harley. The next day, Gillespie informed Daisy that Tammy was going to make a complete recovery and tried to rush her out of town, since they had committed a crime. Meanwhile, Gus arrived and informed Daisy that Tammy had died. Though Daisy didn’t believe it at first, when she realized he was telling the truth she insisted that Gillespie could not have done it on purpose. Meanwhile, Gus was determined to help Daisy; not for her sake but for her mother and baby. Wanting to give Daisy a reason to clean up, Gus introduced her to the baby, Sydney, and told Daisy that she had the opportunity to prove herself, and be a part of this family. Gus demanded that Daisy let him know as soon as Gillespie called or else she was out on her own. Shortly after Gus had a drug counselor go see Daisy, but she escaped to see Gillespie. Meanwhile, Harley finally spotted Daisy in town, and so Daisy claimed she was there for Tammy’s funeral. After hearing from Harley that she was needed to testify to help Harley adopt Sydney, Daisy tried to beg off by stating that she was too nervous. However, Harley insisted that her testimony was needed, Though Daisy was caught high on pills by Harley, she was able to lie her way out of it by stating that her eyes were puffy from crying. By this time, Gillespie was apprehended by the police and was at Cedars. Daisy snuck into G’s hospital room, insisting he leave town or else she’d be implicated and wouldn’t be able to testify for her family. At that moment, Harley walked in to question Gillespie and Daisy was forced to lie that that she was berating the man for killing her cousin. After being dragged out by Harley, Daisy diffused the situation by faking a faint. Afterwards, Gillespie was suddenly extradited back to Australia.. Meanwhile, the day of the custody hearing finally arrived. Though Daisy was uneasy about testifying, Harley told her it was necessary and tried to assure her that everything would be fine. Unfortunately, the Driscoll’s attorney, Donovan, uncovered evidence linking Daisy to Gillespie. On the witness stand, Daisy first tried to deny knowing him and then was forced to admit he was her boyfriend. Having caught her in a lie, Donovan tried to paint Daisy as a junkie and even suggested that she may have been driving the car that struck Tammy. Suddenly, Gus got up and stated that he had proof that Daisy was not driving. He then confessed to finding her at the scene strung out in the back seat. After expressing concerns that Harley’s absentee parenting had an adverse affect on Daisy, the judge called it a day. Though Harley denied it, Daisy was certain she blamed her for losing Sydney and decided to make sure the Aitoros got their daughter by propositioning Donovan. After securing a fake ID, Daisy got into Outskirts and flirtatiously told Donovan she’d do whatever it took to help Harley get Sydney. Donovan agreed to meet her in his room. In the meantime, Harley learned that Daisy had not gone back to boarding school like she had thought and went looking for her. Harley went to Outskirts and ended up finding Daisy in Donovan’s room ready to seduce Donovan. At that point, custody of Sydney was awarded to the Driscolls and Harley decided to enroll Daisy in school in Springfield. Unfortunately, Daisy and her mother immediately clashed. Harley tried to give Daisy structure, and a way to meet new friends, by getting her a community service job at Cedars but Daisy left the job as soon as she started. Instead of waiting to hear an explanation (the supervisor had hit on Daisy), Harley immediately lit into her and Reva when Reva brought her home. Though Daisy tried to run away, Gus caught on before she was out the window and two the bonded. Unfortunately, Daisy continued to clash with an overeager Harley who continued to try to control Daisy’s life—such as when she invited a guy to Daisy’s prom. However, Daisy continued to bond with Gus and even brought him a watch. It didn’t take long for Gus to realize that she had stolen it and he forced her to return it. Then came the night of the dance—a dance Harley was anxious for Daisy to attend since it would be good for her to have friends. Unfortunately, Harley’s attempts at “matchmaking” failed when Bobby cancelled. Later, Gus and Daisy bonded when he offered to walk her to the dance that she didn’t want to go to but Harley insisted. It didn’t take long for Daisy to develop a huge crush on Gus. Later, Bobby apologized for standing up Daisy at the school dance and invited her to the library. Unfortunately, he took her to a motel room instead and locked the door. When she tried to leave, he blocked her path and became forceful. Finally, Daisy put pills in his vodka when he looked away, which made him lose his footing and slip as he tried to force her into sex. Daisy was about to leave when she realized Bobby wouldn’t wake up, and called Harley and Gus in a panic for help. By the time they arrived, Bobby woke up and lied about his intentions. Harley believed his story but not Daisy’s and put Daisy in jail overnight to teach her a lesson. When she got out, Daisy refused to speak to her mother despite Gus’s pleas for her to give her mom a chance. As Gus cheered Daisy up, he leaned in to give her a kiss on the cheek, but accidentally kissed her on the lips when Daisy moved her head. Gus was deeply apologetic, but Daisy was starry-eyed.
As the weeks went by, it was obvious to Daisy that Gus understood her in a way Harley didn’t and she decided that her mother didn’t really deserve Gus. Later, Daisy and Harley got into a vicious argument which resulted in Harley slapping her. Daisy responded by pushing her mother who threw Daisy on the couch and demanded some respect. Though Harley tried to apologize, Daisy wasn’t interested and walked out and later called Dylan to come back. A few days later, Zach suggested to Daisy that she needed some ice cream and she took him with her in Harley’s car. Unfortunately, they had a slight accident. It didn’t take long for Harley and Gus to realize that her car was gone and to hear about the accident and they showed up on the scene. Though Gus tried to downplay the situation by pointing out that everyone was fine, Harley was furious and accused Daisy of endangering her little brother’s life. Harley then announced that she was sending Daisy to a boot camp for six weeks. Daisy looked for Gus to help her but he kept silent. Daisy begged for another chance but Harley had enough and Daisy was dragged from the house by the supervisor of the boot camp. Daisy soon escaped and hid out in Reva’s car. The next day, she revealed herself to Reva who defended Daisy when Sgt. Payton (the boot came supervisor) arrived to collect her and kept Daisy out of the camp. Later, Daisy not-so-subtlety suggested to Billy that Dylan should come back home so Billy offered Dylan a job at Lewis. However, despite Reva and Daisy’s wishes, Harley was adamant about her going to boot camp and decided to drive her there. However, an emergency with Jude forced Harley to stay home and Gus volunteered to drive her. When they stopped at a motel for the night, Daisy picked that time to tell Gus she was in love with him. Gus tried to let her down gently by telling Daisy that he was in love with Harley and loved Daisy as a daughter—nothing more. When Gus walked out to get some pillows, Daisy put some crushed pills in his hot chocolate and when he passed out, she lit some candles and crawled into bed with him. Unfortunately, the candles caught fire and a panicked Daisy was forced call the paramedics when Gus wouldn’t wake up. At the hospital, she claimed to be Gus’s girlfriend. It didn’t take long for Dylan and Harley to learn about the fire and the pair rushed to the hospital to find out what happened. When Dylan asked if the fire was Gus’s fault, Daisy lied that Gus took some pain pills that night. Unfortunately, Dylan took that to mean that Gus started the fire because he was high on drugs. When he woke up, Gus implied that the fire was his fault and kept quiet about Daisy’s revelation that night. Afterwards, Harley reconsidered her plan to send Daisy away. Later, when Gus tried to talk to Daisy about her feelings, she downplayed it and stated that she didn’t mean it. In the meantime, Dylan found Daisy’s videoblog in which she discussed her love for Gus and was convinced that Gus was a drugged addicted sexual predator. When he finally brought his concerns to Harley, she went to Gus who told her about Daisy’s feelings for him. Suddenly, they realized that Daisy must have drugged Gus and the pair confronted her. When the pair confronted Daisy, Gus took Harley’s side over Daisy’s, which Daisy wasn’t used to. After accusing Harley of wanting to get rid of her and being jealous, Daisy set out to find “Natalia”—the woman whose name Gus mumbled when he was in the hospital. Daisy had done some detective work earlier and not only located the woman but discovered that she considered Gus the love of her life. Now, Daisy decided to bring Natalia to Springfield and after stealing Harley’s car, traveled to Chicago to speak with her. After telling a tale that her mother and Gus were having marital problems, Daisy lied that she was throwing a party to cheer her stepfather up and wanted to invite her since she was a childhood friend.
Days later, Gus and Harley found out that Daisy had been cutting school and gotten a traffic ticket in Chicago. Since this was a violation of her parole, Daisy was called before the judge. Asked how she, as an officer of the law, would give Daisy direction, Harley confessed that she could no longer handle her daughter. The judge took Harley’s words to heart and sentenced Daisy to three months in juvenile detention. Though Harley tried to tell the judge that was not what she meant, his decision was final and Daisy demanded to be sent to detention ASAP. Daisy’s arrival to juvie was made easier by Ashlee Wolfe who had already been in juvenile detention for a few weeks now. After stopping some girls from harassing Daisy, Ashlee showed her the ropes. Weeks later, Daisy agreed to let Gus visit her but not her mother. While visiting Daisy, Gus realized that she was the one who brought Natalia to Springfield. Gus was furious while Daisy merely asked why he hasn’t told Harley about his past with Natalia. Meanwhile, Harley pretended to be Daisy’s old roommate to get her on the phone and then tried to tell her how much she loved her. However, Daisy was unwilling to listen and hung up on her mother. Not long after, Daisy was awe-struck by the sight of a new inmate at juvie—a Latin American boy; the feeling was mutual. That same, Daisy got into a fight with a girl who stole her earrings. Soon after, she was visited by Dylan and Harley. When Daisy remained cold toward Harley, Dylan lectured her about how both he and her mother where tempted to keep her when she was a baby and revealed that sending her to juvie was his idea all along. Daisy immediately softened toward Harley and actually gave her a hug goodbye. The next day, Daisy got involved in an altercation with other girls and was in need of pain medication which was prohibited. Gus went to Alan who used his connection in the DA’s office (Doris) and got Daisy the medication. At the same time, the Latin teen touched Daisy by sneaking some ice for her through a hole in the wall. As the weeks went on, he and Daisy often spoke through a vent in her room. Later, the boy was released and Daisy was concerned was that she would never being able to see “vent boy” again. Soon after, Dylan used some connections to get Daisy out of juvie and she asked to move back with Harley. Before moving back home, Harley informed Daisy that Gus learned that he had a son with Natalia years ago (which she never told him about) and the boy, Rafe, was staying with them. When Daisy arrived home she was shocked to see that Rafe and “vent boy” were one and the same! Rafe pretended that he and Daisy never met at juvie. Later, he snuck out after Daisy and pulled her into a kiss. Not long after, Ashlee was released from juvie and Daisy told Coop that Ashlee was in love with him. Meanwhile, the tension in the Aitoro home increased thanks to Harley. One day Daisy stole money from the babysitting fund so she and Rafe could go to the movies. When Harley saw Rafe putting some of the money back, she immediately thought he had stolen the money. That same day Harley saw Rafe and Daisy and thinking the worst, pulled Rafe off Daisy. During the argument, Rafe ran off and Daisy confessed to Harley that she stole the money. She also confessed that she and Rafe were in love. Harley objected to the pair seeing each other while they were living together and both Gus and Natalia agreed. Natalia felt that Rafe needed to concentrate on school without having a live-in girlfriend as a distraction; she wanted Rafe to move out. Daisy came up with a better solution when she volunteered to move in with her father. However, since they had lied about knowing one another, the pair was forbidden from seeing each other for a few weeks. However, Daisy was desperate to see Rafe and snuck off to see him at the Spaulding guest house. Unfortunately, while they were together Rafe collapsed due to his diabetes and Daisy called Natalia and Harley for help. Soon, Natalia, Harley and Dylan arrived and Rafe quickly recovered. Meanwhile, Harley insisted that Daisy move back home, while Gus was adamant about Rafe staying. The problem was solved when Alan suggested that Rafe move in with him. Later, Daisy tried to work a deal with Natalia, asking for more time with Rafe in exchange for assuring Nat had more time with Gus. Unfortunately Natalia not only refused but blasted Daisy for selling out her own mother. In retaliation, Daisy told Buzz that Natalia was after Gus. Her comments led Natalia to quit before she was fired. Unfortunately, Rafe found out what she’d done and blasted Daisy for hurting his mother. Upset, Daisy told Harley that Natalia turned Rafe against her and repeated the lie that she was going after Gus. Days later, Daisy convinced Rafe to forgive her by pointing out that she was just looking after her mother like he looked out for his. Later, while at Cedars to visit her father after Dylan had been in a car accident, Daisy shoplifted a watch from the gift shop. She and Rafe were caught before they even left the store. Luckily, Rafe called Alan to bail them out and Alan paid for the watch and even bought two more for Rafe and Gus. Meanwhile, the Aitoro marriage was nearing a breaking point when Harley left Gus when he had a one night stand with Natalia. Later, Daisy got in Rafe’s good graces again by apologizing to Natalia for coming between her and Rafe. In the meantime, Harley had forgiven Gus and the pair agreed to renew their vows. Having learned about it from a snide Gus, Alan left a message for Gus telling him that Rafe was ill and he and Natalia went to New York so that Gus would miss the ceremony. At the mansion, having just visited Rafe, Daisy overheard and knew that was a lie. When she confronted Alan, he had his butler, Jeremy, try to throw her out. Daisy fought back and was promptly arrested for assault. As she was being dragged off to jail, Daisy ran into Reva and told her what Alan had done. As expected, Gus missed the ceremony and a heartbroken Harley took this as a sign that he valued Natalia and Rafe over her. As for Daisy, Rafe got Jeremy to drop the charges against her. Weeks later, after declaring their love for each other, Daisy and Rafe made love at the lake house. Unfortunately, Harley came across the pair and realized that they had made love. Furious, Harley dragged the pair back to the mansion where they met with Gus and Natalia who were equally angry and the teens were forbidden to see each other. However, the pair were unable to stay away from each other and days later, Reva found them kissing. After talking to Daisy about true love, Reva allowed them to use the shack by the docks as long as they were smart and respectful.
In the meantime, Daisy was finally getting her life together and was elected as Vice President of the student council in school. Later, she was shocked to discover that she was pregnant. Unsure of what to do, she kept her condition a secret from everyone except Reva. Reva advised Daisy to consult her mother but Daisy was unwilling. As the days went by, Daisy agonized over what to do. Meanwhile, Dylan found out the truth and warned Daisy that a pregnancy could ruin her life. This was after Rafe innocently told Daisy of his intention of taking a trip to Europe. Unsure of what to do, Daisy went to Planned Parenthood. At Cedars, she ran into Rafe but made up an excuse about why she was there. Finally, Daisy made the hard choice and had an abortion alone. Soon after, Daisy confessed about the pregnancy to Rafe. He was incredibly supportive until Daisy told him about the abortion. Hurt that Daisy did this without consulting him, Rafe turned away from Daisy; a decision that Natalia agreed with. Meanwhile, at school, Daisy flipped out when some of the students were rude to her during her first meeting as Student Council Vice President. The students were about to have a new election, when Rafe intervened and defended Daisy. Daisy confronted Rafe, saying she knew he still loved her and she pleaded with him to get back together. However, he couldn’t bring himself to. Later, pretending to be Harley, Daisy called the school and stated that she would be missing from school. Days later, Rafe barged in on Daisy and started lecturing her about missing school Soon talk turned to the abortion and Daisy defended her position again to Rafe. She argued that she aborted their baby since she didn’t want his life to be ruined. Daisy tried to explain that if she would have had the baby, Rafe would have felt obligated to stay with her and would probably end up hating her. Unfortunately her explanation fell on deaf ears. Later, though, Dylan apologized to Daisy for the harsh things he’d said and his words of encouragement gave Daisy hope for her future. Days later, Daisy confessed to her mother that she took some time off from school to get her head together. Harley was very understanding and asked Daisy to move back with her. As the weeks went by, Daisy was trying to get her life back together while it appeared that Rafe’s was falling apart. An angry-at-the-world Rafe started skipping school and this time it was Daisy’s turn to lecture him. Later, at Thanksgiving, a drunken Rafe caused a scene by coming to Harley’s yelling and throwing things at her house. Daisy went to Rafe and confided in him that ever since the abortion she felt empty. Their talk helped and Rafe finally started softening as he held her. In the meantime, Daisy was looking to make some extra money and asked Cassie if she could babysitter her young son, Will. Cassie agreed. Though Will was cold to Daisy at first, he warmed up to her when he learned she could drive. Later, wanting a new car Daisy went to Josh to ask for more babysitting hours. However, she spotted Will first. After learning she wanted money, he told her he had some from San Cristobel and offered to pay her to take him to the mall so he could buy his mom a present for Christmas. Daisy agreed and called Josh from the road since he wasn’t in the room. On Christmas Eve, several shoppers, including Josh and Reva, found themselves locked in the mall when the power mysteriously went out. A few days later, Daisy saw Josh accusing Will of causing the power outage. Knowing what it was like to be in trouble, Daisy quickly covered for him and took the blame. When Will thanked her, she told him she felt sorry for him and hinted that she would like some money in return.
In 2008, Daisy and Rafe’s relationship continued to mend with Rafe finally kissing Daisy in front of his mother. When Natalia became upset, Rafe warned her to back off. Afterwards, Daisy was thrilled when she got into college. However, that same day Daisy was shocked to see Harley kissing Cyrus Foley---Marina’s fiancé. Daisy angrily confronted Harley who admitted that she stole Cyrus from Marina. Disgusted by her mother’s actions, Daisy defiantly decided to move out of the house and suggested to Rafe that they find a place of their own. Unfortunately, neither teen had any money to put a deposit down on an apartment (which Daisy got by dressing older than her age) Though Daisy tried to scam money off Harley but lying that she needed money for a school trip, Harley angered her by refusing since she had no money to spare. Later, while talking with one of her friends, Daisy came up with the perfect way to make money—selling fake ID’s. Soon after she and Rafe went into business, they were spotted by Cyrus who busted them. After taking their money and supplies, Cyrus promised not to say anything to Harley. Meanwhile, days later, the family was rocked by Gus’s sudden death in a motorcycle crash. After Gus’s death, Rafe decided that he had to be there for his mother and nixed the plan to move in with Daisy. Though Daisy tried to reach out to Rafe, he remained cold to her. In the meantime, Cyrus approached Daisy and told her that he wanted in on her fake ID business. Although she had no love for Cyrus, Daisy agreed. Unfortunately, one of the teens caught with the fake ID ratted Daisy out to Harley. Harley confronted Daisy about breaking the law and was flabbergasted when Cyrus admitted to being in on it. Things remained tense between Harley and Daisy for the next few weeks and when Harley insisted on buying Daisy a dress for her high school graduation, Daisy was forced to admit that she’d been suspended and might not graduate. Meanwhile, Daisy drifted around aimlessly, doing not much of anything besides drinking and smoking pot. Finally, when Cyrus lied to the police that he forced Daisy to sell the ID’s, her suspension was lifted and she was allowed to graduate. Unfortunately, graduation day would end in tragedy. Before the ceremony, Harley informed Daisy that Rafe shot Jeffrey and went on the run. Upset, Daisy ran out and found Rafe hiding out at the house that Gus bought. After assuring Rafe that she knew that he never meant to hurt Jeffrey, Daisy convinced him to call her mother. That same day, Rafe disappeared and Harley left town without saying goodbye.
Immediately after, Daisy was surprised when someone filled her car up with daisies. Although she thought her family was responsible, they denied it. Not long after, Daisy came face to face with her old boyfriend, G”--the man who ran down Tammy. G immediately expressed remorse for hurting Daisy and for killing Tammy and Daisy believed him. Mesmerized by G, Daisy brought him to Harley’s to hide for a while since he was still wanted by the police. They were soon caught kissing by Cyrus and Daisy was shocked to learn that G’s real name was Grady Foley and he was Cyrus’s younger brother. Though Cyrus warned Daisy to stay away from Grady since he was dangerous, Daisy was convinced that he’d changed. Since the police were still after Grady, Daisy let him hide out at Reva’s storage garage and gave him money that she stole from Company. In the meantime, while the police kept asking Daisy if she knew about Rafe’s whereabouts, Cyrus informed Daisy that Harley snuck Rafe out of the country. In the meantime, when Daisy learned that Grady was the mysterious man who’d been flirting with Ashlee, she spitefully called the police on him. Later, Daisy confessed to Reva that she’d been hiding Grady. Though Daisy defended Grady to her family, no one would listen and they all tried to warn Daisy that he was a dangerous man. When Grady was let out on bail, Daisy defied her family constantly by sneaking out to see him. When Reva tried to convince Daisy that Grady was trouble, Daisy compared her love for Grady to Reva’s love for Josh. Ultimately, Daisy convinced Grady to go to the police a make a statement regarding Tammy’s death. As time went by, Daisy continued to visit Grady until Cyrus had her name removed from the visitor’s list. When Daisy refused to listen to reason when it came to Grady, Frank finally decided to personally escort Daisy out of the country to live with Harley. Unfortunately for Frank, by the time they got to Greece, Harley was gone and he was forced to return Daisy to Springfield.
