Daytime Emmy winner Cynthia Watros posted a video message to fans who've supported her through Nina's "bumpy ride" on General Hospital.

When it comes to soap opera characters, some are easier than others to love. Don't believe us? Take a stroll on social media, and you'll see that nearly every character has a detractor.

On General Hospital, Nina Reeves is a divisive figure. In response to Soap Central's recent article about General Hospital's new head writing team, half of the messages mentioning Nina expressed support and the other half wanted to see Nina permanently exiled to Nixon Falls.

But there is a real person behind that love-to-hate or hate-to-love or love-to-love character of Nina, and fans sure do love her. So much, in fact, that fans sent flowers to the actress.

"Hi, guys, Cynthia," Watros said as she started a thank you video for fans. "Well, it's been a while since I've been on here. I just wanna ask, how are you? I hope you guys are doing well. Nina has been on some ride these, what, two weeks. Thank you for all your love and support."

The actress then turned her attention to a floral arrangement behind her. "I came in this morning, and look what was there -- these beautiful flowers," Reeves said with a huge smile. "You always make me feel like a million bucks and truly loved, and just thank you for being bright lights in my life."

Emmy winner Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves) took over the role of Nina in June 2019. Prior to landing on General Hospital, it had been nearly five years since Watros last appeared in daytime as Kelly Andrews on The Young and the Restless. Watros also appeared in 1998 as Another World's >Vicky Hudson McKinnon, but perhaps her best-known role is as Annie Dutton Banks on Guiding Light.

It was that ax-wielding role on Guiding Light that won Watros the Outstanding Lead Actress Daytime Emmy in 1998.

It's unclear if Nina will pick up any hatchets in the near future, but Watros has promised a "bumpy ride" is ahead for her alter ego.

"I wanna say that it's been a bumpy ride for Nina, but all of you that have supported and loved Nina and me, thank you, thank you," Watros continued. "And those of you that are just outraged, thank you! I know that Nina is not easy to love, but she is lovable!"
