Harley and Gus agree their investigation should begin at the Spaulding mansion where Gus received the notes about Phillip's killer. Gus makes Harley promise to remain at the ice-cream truck while he goes alone to the mansion. She agrees but heads to Harley's Angels the minute he leaves to retrieve a DVD player in order to watch Spaulding surveillance records. As she is leaving with the machine, a security guard arrives and demands to see her identification. She reaches in her pocket and pulls out a business card belonging to Alexandra. She gives it to the guard and pretends to be the very rich and snobby Alexandra Spaulding. He believes her charade and offers to help her carry some items outside. While she is waiting for him, Lizzie arrives and recognizes Harley but agrees to let her go without calling the police.
At the Spaulding mansion, Alan finds Gus alone in the attic. Gus tells his father he is there to demand that he retract the bounty placed on Harley. Alan refuses, saying Harley is going to get what she deserves. Gus gets angry and yells that Alan is going to die a lonely old man. He snatches Alan's briefcase and says he knows the bounty money is in there and he thinks he'll skim some off the top for himself. Alan becomes agitated, remembering he hid the bloody gloves in the case. He reaches for a gun and tells Gus to put the case down or he will be sorry. Gus won't hear it and dumps the contents out onto a table. He is shocked to discover there are only family pictures inside. Relieved, Alan returns the gun to the desk. When Gus leaves the attic, Alan searches frantically for the gloves and mutters someone knows what he has done.
At Company, Lizzie shows Coop the picture she took of Harley and promises not to turn her in to the police. Coop is relieved and asks Lizzie not to go to Switzerland as planned because he needs her to stay with him. Lizzie is excited and asks if it means what she thinks it does. He answers with a passionate kiss.
Reva is talking to Nate, who she doesn't realize is really Alfred, about her son Jonathan and the problems they have had since his arrival in Springfield. Nate advises her to leave the boy alone since it seems to be what he wants. Reva refuses the suggestion and claims she knows her son has a good heart and they will eventually have a good relationship. Nate makes cryptic remarks about full moons and murders. He makes a menacing comment to Reva about how things that go around come around. Did it ever occur to her that something nasty might happen to her for something she did in the past? Reva looks puzzled and begs off of a meeting she agreed to attend with him. They are interrupted when Jonathan arrives and is 'introduced' to his mother's new boss.
Alan arrives at his office at Spaulding Enterprises and finds the gloves in his desk drawer. Alexandra arrives and confirms her suspicion that the gloves do indeed belong to her brother. She gazes at him and says, 'You did it. You killed your son.'
Jonathan is not happy to see Nate and Reva chitchatting like old buddies. Not knowing the situation, Reva introduces them. Just as she does, her cell phone rings, and she excuses herself to answer it. Jonathan is furious with Nate and wants to know what he is up to. He insists Jonathan is not very smart and needs Nate's help to accomplish their goals. Reva returns, and Nate makes up a story about how the two had met before, when he kicked Jonathan out of the bar for drinking too much. Nate goes into Company to get food for a picnic for Reva and him. He runs into Tammy and introduces himself. He asks Tammy to tell Jonathan hello when she sees him. When Nate returns to join Reva, Jonathan has left. Nate makes up a story and tells Reva he caught Jonathan at the bar trying to drug Tammy's drink. Reva believes it. Outside of Company, Tammy tells Jonathan she was asked to say hello to him from Nate. Jonathan asks a lot of questions and tells Tammy he doesn't trust Nate.
Alex suspects Alan killed Phillip but when she confronts him, he denies it. But she persists and sweet talks him, and he admits yes, he shot Phillip. He tells Alex he went to the restaurant to convince Phillip to stay, to change his mind. But Phillip laughed at him, and said Alan had finally turned him into a monster like himself. Alan left in anger but returned...he saw the gun and when Phillip laughed at him again he pulled the trigger. Alex is horrified! She isn't sure she can keep this secret...but Alan seems to convince her it is best for the family. Alex doesn't understand why Alan let Harley to go jail, but he insists Harley is guilty of betraying Phillip (even though he is the one who cheated on her) and causing him to lose his mind. He also accuses Olivia. But Alex is angry that Beth, Lizzie and she were also considered suspects and Alan stood by and watched. Alan pleads with Alex, and she seems to agree. She tells him she wants to leave the Spaulding mailroom and return to her office. He agrees. She also says they have to burn the gloves. He doesn't want to, but she takes them and tells him she will take care of them.
Buzz is cleaning Harley's office, afraid the bounty hunters will break in and find something that could help them. Danny arrives and asks why Buzz called him there. Buzz wants his help. He wants to offer a reverse bounty, a larger bounty on Harley which would require the hunter to bring her in alive. Danny agrees to help. Marina arrives and asks Danny out to dinner. Danny hedges and she thinks he rejects her. He tries to convince her otherwise, but when she overhears him at Company making airline reservations, she assumes Danny is on his way to see Michelle. Danny insists it's only business and that he will be back soon. He leaves, but Marina is tired of waiting - and follows him.
Alex happens by Harley's office as Buzz is leaving. She tells him she visited the church around the corner. He invites her in for a beer and she agrees, but makes sure the envelope with the gloves is tucked in her purse. He tells Alex he is so glad that she has "returned," she is now remembering she is one of the good guys. Alex is obviously torn - and she tells Buzz she must leave.
Meanwhile, Alan has gone back to the attic but is followed by Sebastian. Alan is surprised when Sebastian says he wants to be the successful bounty hunter to find Harley. Just how far should he go to get her? Alan tells him to do what he has to do.
Buzz writes Harley a letter, not knowing where to send it but wanting to let her know what she's missing back home. Meanwhile, Harley's faith begins to falter as she and Gus make their way to New York to find the man who's been leaving Gus clues. But, Gus's love gives her strength as they share memories of their past and imagine a happy future together. Meanwhile, as Buzz and Alex each console Zach who is missing his mom, Alex is so guilt-ridden that she nearly confesses that Alan is the one who killed Phillip. But later, when an angry Alan reveals to Alex in private that he is being blackmailed, Alex has second thoughts about betraying him and decides once again to keep Alan's secret. Danny assists Harley and Gus's escape by posing as Gus to throw the bounty hunters off their trail. But, Marina follows Danny to a Chicago hotel to confront him, assuming he has gone there to reunite with Michelle. Later, Marina runs into an old friend who she quickly realizes is in Chicago to try to claim the bounty on Harley. But when Danny comes to Marina's rescue, Marina slaps him across the face! Lizzie and Coop get off to an awkward start on their first date but neither wants to give up on the other. They strike a deal to run Company together and the decision brings them closer together.
Edmund interrupts Cassie's thoughts of her steamy encounter with Jeffrey. Edmund has plans to work on the nursery and baby names. Cassie wants her baby to have the safe, loving home she and her kids never had.
Jeffrey doesn't take the bait when Dinah teases him with the secret she knows about Edmund. Dinah admits to Ross that he was right about Edmund. She knows he will use her child as a pawn to get Cassie because Dinah has seen him do it with Will. She says Edmund was responsible for losing Will. She feels invisible at the farm. She reveals a tape recording on which she got Edmund to confess.
Dinah arranges for Jeffrey and Cassie to be stuck in an elevator together. Cassie tells him she has to give Edmund and their family a second chance. Jeffrey longs for her but lets her go.
Dinah finds Edmund in the barn and warns him an expectant mother's sex drive often increases in the second trimester.
Danny interrupts Marina's encounter with a bounty-hunter. Marina pretends Danny is also a bounty hunter who is following her. Danny sends the bounty-hunter on a wild goose chase to L.A. Marina accuses Danny of meeting with Michelle. Danny explains he's helping Buzz to throw the bounty-hunters off of Harley's trail.
The ice cream truck makes a pit stop in New York City. Harley and Gus are unaware Alan is also in the city hunting for Mr. Wallace, the man with the goatee. They just miss Alan paying off Wallace at the Excelsior Hotel. They pound the pavement looking for the hotel on the stationery. As the sun sets on the city, they find what they're looking for at the Brooklyn Bridge.
Gus and Harley are newly energized, realizing the mystery man who may know who killed Phillip is staying somewhere near the Brooklyn Bridge. They locate his hotel but upon arrival, discover he's out. As they debate their next move, they're recognized by federal agents who have already seized their ice cream truck. They are forced to run on foot through the streets of Brooklyn. They dash into a building that looks like a warehouse only to find they are backstage at a soap opera!
As Edmund and Cassie grow closer, Dinah realizes the clock is ticking on revealing Edmund's deceit to Cassie. With tape recorder in hand, she prepares to give it to Cassie but she is waylaid and accidentally switches purses with Tammy. Later, when she finally retrieves her own purse, she is devastated to learn Sandy has unknowingly taped over her treasured confession.
Reva is furious when Nate tells her Jonathan has been selling date rape drugs. When she sees Tammy and Jonathan together, she reams her son. Jonathan empties his pockets for Reva but when a bag full of pills falls out, he realizes he's been set up. Later, after an angry Reva insults Jonathan and takes off, Nate comes forward and says he did this so his son could see what his mother really thought of him. Nate drives home his point that he's the only one Jonathan can trust. Jonathan buys his father's lies.
Danny and Marina spend the night in Chicago but she's still not ready to fully commit to him. The pull is strong for both of them, and they get closer, unaware Sebastian has come to Chicago and discovered their ruse.
