Taylor broke down when her mother said that Noah needed to know the truth about the baby. Taylor was on the verge of telling Noah when he arrived at the apartment. Taylor couldn't tell the truth in front of the woman she felt was her chief rival for Noah's affection. So, Vivienne told Noah and Julia that Taylor had suffered a miscarriage. Noah was emotional over the loss of his supposed baby. Julia left to allow Noah and Taylor to talk about the loss.

Laura, Brooke, and Pierce went to the high school to get accustomed to the surroundings. When they got there, Adam was talking to Michael's class about his days in Pigeon Hollow. Brooke was impressed but was soon shocked when Adam told her to get her sexiest dress on because they were going out to parts unknown. Scott recognized Laura from the mini-mart near Willow Lake and was very chummy with her.

Despite Erica's ranting, Liza was not pulled as the new station manager. Jason told Dixie that Liza was given the job over Tad. Erica went on a bender when she realized that her medication had run out. Liza gave Tad a hefty raise to stay on at the station, but one of his new duties was keeping the peace between Erica and Liza.

Noah whisked Julia off to Manhattan, where the two kissed in the moonlight and looked at the lights of the Big Apple. Mateo prepared his "gourmet" dinner for Hayley, but Momma and Poppa Santos didn't have 100% faith in his abilities. So, they sent over Anita to make sure nothing burned. Hayley never showed.

Hayley was at Alec's apartment, watching the videotape Arlene had made of Arlene and Alec having sex. Hayley wasn't alone, though. Charlie was there, telling Hayley that she wasn't "a pig" like her mom because she had been faithful when she dated him.

Matt arrived later to try to take Hayley back with him for the dinner he had prepared, but she told him that he couldn't make things better for her. Anita, left alone to baste the turkey, had a visitor stop by. Bobby tried to put the moves on the second-youngest Santos sister, but she wanted no part of it.

Brooke said that she didn't want to marry Adam because as soon as a woman did, he put a short leash on her and took away all the fun. So, Brooke said that she'd rather stay the way they were and have fun. She later invited Adam back to her place for a nightcap and whatever else happened.

Noah and Julia toured the Big Apple before retiring to a hotel room, where the two finally made love. Anita was worried Bobby was too "sexually experienced" for her. Since she'd never had a boyfriend, she was worried that she might not be a suitable girlfriend for Bobby.

Hayley told Mateo that she didn't love him and that their night on the beach had just been for sex. Matt didn't believe her at first, but Hayley kept reiterating that she had been using him all along. A sad and angry Matt stormed out of the apartment and headed home. Charlie stopped by a few minutes later to get Hayley out of Alec's apartment. He took the videotape out of the VCR and shredded the tape before asking Hayley to leave with him.

Matt got home and found that Laura had stopped by. She wanted to spend some time with him, but he wouldn't even give her the time of day. He chased her out of the apartment and ended up sitting alone in the dark.

Dixie found out from Jason that Liza Colby had gotten Tad's job. When Dixie showed up at the station, it was obvious she felt awkward talking to Tad's ex-gal pal and new boss. Liza made sure everything she said could be misconstrued, making Dixie uncomfortable about Tad and Liza working together. When Tad and Dixie finally were face-to-face, they argued over whether or not Tad still had the hots for Liza, which made Liza very, very happy.

Stuart found out that Anita wasn't going to the Harvest Dance. Bobby courted her parents. Acting on his son's behalf, Stuart went to the high school to ask Anita to reconsider and to go with Scott instead. All of Scott's classmates were there, and when Bobby started to razz Scott about his father being a "dating service" to get Scott dates, Laura, on her first day at school, chirped in that Scott and she were already committed to going to the dance together.

Edmund and Maria decided to start looking for children to adopt. Jack explained to them the legal and emotional risks, but they were still gung-ho on adopting. Gloria encountered a young girl in the shelter who had run away from home and was pregnant.

Liza continued to apply pressure as station manager. Erica, overcome by stress, called Dr. Kinder to give her more pain pills. Erica listened with deaf ears when the doctor told her to take only two pills with food. She took about half a dozen with no food. Dr. Kinder took off when Liza started to approach him. As a surprise, Dimitri flew Bianca in from Seattle to see her mom. Bianca was worried when her mother was trembling furiously.

Erica collapsed to the ground only moments after Bianca asked what was wrong. Erica came around a few minutes later, but Bianca insisted that her mother might have some sort of terminal illness.

Edmund and Maria were having a meeting with a woman from an adoption agency. She advised them that their temporary separation the year before might hurt their image as a "perfect" family. The agent also said that the agency would place calls to their family to see if family members thought that they'd be good parents. Edmund and Maria looked at each other and both thought of Erica.

Edmund and Maria took off to Linden House to ask Erica to be nice and give at least a favorable review. When they got there, Erica had just recovered from her lapse. Maria agreed with Dimitri when he told Erica that she should go to the hospital. Erica refused and went on her "Maria's infertile so she is a nasty witch" routine.

Dr. Kinder popped in, too, saying that he was in the neighborhood. He covered for Erica when Maria asked if Erica's fainting could be drug-related, replying that Erica was not on any medication. Dimitri went to the studio to tell Liza that Erica needed a break. Liza was, meanwhile, trying to pick up Michael. She wasn't successful, much to the delight of Tad, who enjoyed watching Liza squirm.

Michael's class made final preparations for the Harvest Dance. Anita and Scott hung decorations together, glancing lovingly at each other the whole time. Hayley told Adam that she and Mateo were not an item and to buzz off. When Adam pressured Matt to go over to Hayley, he said the same thing -- "Back off, Adam!"

When Adam was off dining with Brooke, Hayley and Matt stared longingly at each other, neither one wanting to be the first to break their silence. Dimitri demanded that Erica be given a temporary leave from the show. Liza refused. Dimitri objected and said Mrs. Marick was taking a vacation, but Liza had the last word when she looked Dimitri in the face and snapped, "No, she isn't!"
