) returns to All My Children for a short-term run -- and it's just the beginning. AMC viewers can expect to see the Emmy-nominated actor back this fall for an extended run on the ABC soap.

In recent weeks, ABC has taken extra measures to make sure that fans know that they, too, want Kaye back on-screen.
Kaye, of course, had gone on record previously stating that he doesn't want to be in Los Angeles, where AMC films, for extended periods of time when his partner, Susan Haskell

"I am not the kind of dad who wants to be 3,000 miles away from my kids," Kaye told the New York Daily News
For now, All My Children fans will have to settle for Kaye's current short-term stint until he returns in the fall. Kaye last appeared on All My Children in April. He joined the show in May 2004.
