Reports from behind-the-scenes of All My Children hint that Mark Pinter
) could once again be exiting the show. This time, however, the actor's exit is said to be permanent.
Pinter joined the cast of All My Children in January 2001 for what was to have been just a handful of episodes. Reaction to his short-term stint was so overwhelmingly positive that show executives decided to offer Pinter a contract. His named inked on the dotted line, Pinter quickly was relegated to the backburner and viewers saw little of Roger Smythe in Pine Valley.
In December 2001, just as Pinter's role on the show heated up, came an announcement Pinter had been taken off contract. Pinter's final contract appearance came on December 31.
Pinter returned to active duty in March, but on a recurring basis.
Though unconfirmed by the network, Internet chatter has Roger Smythe meeting an untimely demise.
