HGTV's Celebrity IOU has recruited Justin Hartley (ex-Adam Newman, The Young and the Restless; ex-Fox Crane, Passions), who will be teaming up with the Property Brothers for a very special episode.

Daytime alum Justin Hartley proved that he can handle a heavy workload in his roles as Adam Newman on The Young and the Restless and Fox Crane on Passions, but can he handle heavy work equipment? Fans will soon find out, because the actor is set to appear on the HGTV series Celebrity IOU.

Having just kicked off its second season, Celebrity IOU stars the Property Brothers (a.k.a. Jonathan and Drew Scott), who help celebrities pay back those who have positively affected their lives with home renovations. The first season featured stars like Brad Pitt, who gave his longtime makeup artist Jean Ann Black a multi-use guest house/workspace. And this time around, Hartley will be helping to give someone special in his life a new living space.

The actor, who recently went through a divorce with daytime alum Chrishell Stause (ex-Jordan Ridgeway, Days of our Lives; ex-Amanda Dillon, All My Children), decided he'd like to update the backyard of his buddy, Mat, who he credits with being the rock who saved him during hard times.

Jonathan Scott says in a statement, "Celebrity IOU is so full of heart and just the kind of feel-good energy we all need right now. The idea of giving back resonates with everyone -- and, for us, working with these incredibly thoughtful celebrities is so uplifting."

Adds Drew Scott, "[All of the celebrity guests] wanted to use the power tools, they all wanted to smash through walls. Nobody was just saying, 'Oh, go renovate it for this person.'"

Check out a season two trailer of Celebrity IOU below, and be sure to tune in to HGTV on Monday, December 28, at 9PM ET for Hartley's episode.
