The upcoming CBS series Blood & Treasure has added Alicia Coppola (ex-Dr. Meredith Gates, The Young and the Restless; ex-Lorna Devon, Another World) to its cast.

The new CBS series Blood & Treasure has already grabbed the attention of daytime fans because it will star The Young and the Restless alum Sofia Pernas (ex-Marisa Sierras). And now, it's getting another boost of soap opera talent: Alicia Coppola (ex-Dr. Meredith Gates, Y&R; ex-Lorna Devon, Another World) has also been added to the cast.

The New York native has signed on for the series regular role of Dr. Ana Castilla in the action-adventure drama that centers on brilliant antiquities expert Danny (Matt Barr) and cunning art thief Lexi (Pernas), who team up to catch a ruthless terrorist whose attacks are funded through stolen treasure.

Coppola's Ana is a world-renowned adventurer and archeologist who will play heavily in story as Danny and Lexi unexpectedly find themselves in the center of a 2,000-year-old battle for the cradle of civilization.

Coppola has an extensive résumé that includes roles on series like Jericho, Trinity, Cold Feet, Bull, American Dreams, NCIS, Common Law, and Shameless. Her most recent soap work was as Victor Newman's (Eric Braeden) prison doctor on Y&R in 2016, but she got her start in daytime back in 1991, when she took on the role of AW's Lorna.

Blood & Treasure is scheduled for a summer 2019 debut.
