Y&R's latest Kyle, Hartley Sawyer, is out

Kyle Abbott will soon be pulling a disappearing act. The Young and the Restless has released Hartley Sawyer. The actor joined the show earlier this year.

After less than a year with The Young and the Restless, Hartley Sawyer (Kyle Abbott) has been let go.

"Hartley is wrapping up but will be airing for several weeks into the new year," a spokesperson for The Young and the Restless confirmed.

Sawyer joined the cast of Y&R in March 2013, replacing another relative newcomer, Blake Hood. Hood's casting was a way for Y&R to "age" the character of Kyle. Three actors have now played Kyle since January 2012.

Y&R was Sawyer's first daytime role, but the actor joined the CBS soap with experience in primetime. Sawyer's rsum included stops on Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, GCB, and NCIS: Los Angeles.

There's no word yet on why the actor was let go or if the show has future plans for Kyle. Sawyer will last air on Monday, January 27, 2014.
