One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you...mean?

Summer is peeved, Claire is packing, Sharon is testy, Sally is blabbing, Chelsea feels guilty, and so much more chaos to unravel in this week's The Young and the Restless Two Scoops!

Dear readers, Sharon's new meds are not working very well. Sharon is becoming more vicious and unstable as the days pass. When Phyllis casually mentioned that she had spoken to Faith, Sharon absolutely lost her mind. She attacked Phyllis for daring to talk to her daughter.

Hey, Phyllis, the next time Sharon looks lonely while picking up her sad takeout, I would not invite her to sit with me while she waits. Yikes.

Nick wanted to give Sharon the benefit of the doubt and thought Sharon might be an overprotective mom. But he eventually had to concede that he had noticed Sharon acting loopy lately. Mariah and Tessa also noticed Sharon behaving strangely and tried to figure out what was happening with her. Sharon is having trouble focusing and is having dreams and hallucinations from the past. One would think that with her training, she would recognize that she's feeling off. She made one phone call to her doctor about her new meds, but apparently, he hasn't called back yet.

Readers, why is it that Y&R feels compelled to make so many of their major female storylines about women having mental breakdowns? Ashley and her multiple personalities. Chelsea tried to commit suicide. Nikki fell hard off the wagon after being terrorized by Aunt Jordan, another mentally unstable woman, and Jordan's deranged niece Claire, who kidnapped Nikki and injected vodka into her veins. Now Sharon has the wrong meds, and it seems like she is going to become violent, possibly against Phyllis. The more times Sharon sees Ghost Cassie, the more I am sure of it.

We had it coming because we did ask for Sharon to get a real storyline other than serving people coffee in Crimson Lights. I guess we need to be more specific next time, like, "Hey, we would like to see Sharon more often in a storyline where she makes a success of her new company and meets a nice guy and has a fulfilling romance and does NOT go crazy."

Mean-Sharon did have one good observation, however -- Nick and Phyllis have been spending a considerable amount of time together lately, and it's not all because of Summer. (Side note: Y&R drinking game. Do a shot every time Nick or Phyllis calls Summer "Supergirl.")

Summer is bound and determined to fight Kyle for custody and insists on forging ahead, even when nearly everyone in her life tells her it is a bad idea. I wonder if Tara Locke will reappear in town; her name has been mentioned once or twice lately. I agree with every person in Genoa City who has told Summer that this won't end well for her.

Harrison has no idea that any drama is unfolding around him and is happily frolicking around, collecting worms. I can hardly wait to see what Parisian worms look like. Do they have tiny berets? Man, that would make a great cartoon character, no?

Claire discussed her reluctance to go to Paris with Victoria. Claire is concerned about riling up Summer but also hesitant because she is developing feelings for Kyle and doesn't know what to do with them. Victoria had to drag that out of her, question by question, because Claire had never been in a relationship before and didn't know how to articulate her feelings.

Readers, this part puzzles me. Do you recall when Claire worked as Nikki's executive assistant? She came with references and college transcripts, and it seemed she had a life before she arrived in Genoa City. So, during high school, college, and her business career, she never had a crush on anyone before? Claire (a.k.a. baby Eve) was born in 1998, so Claire is 26. It seemed odd that a boy never caught her eye before. I had a crush on David Cassidy and Batman when I was still in elementary school. (Hayley Erin is 30, so reasonably close to Eve's age.)

But I digress. Claire vowed she would not act on her attraction to Kyle, since he is her boss, and it would be unprofessional. This means she will definitely hook up with Kyle in Paris, and Summer will probably walk in on them.

Summer is turning into Phyllis Jr. in every way. She tried (and failed) to get Harrison to say he didn't want to move, but Harrison was excited about having a new room and seemed to consider it a big adventure. Summer kept feeding him lines, trying to manipulate him into being unhappy about moving, but his precious and sunny disposition was impenetrable.

I see from Summer's point of view how hard this must be; she's used to being there with her son, day and night, and she feels distant from him and wants that closeness back. But she's the one who wrecked her marriage to Kyle. She's the one who let Diane sit in prison for murdering Phyllis, knowing full well that Phyllis wasn't dead. Maybe Kyle is harsh and unfair, but the ruin of Summer's marriage and the change in life circumstances falls on her.

Summer is jealous of Audra, but Audra is happily in bed with Nate and doesn't seem interested in Kyle. They say it's just a fling, but I can see them becoming a couple with staying power. They are both ambitious and driven and started with a solid friendship. But the relationship that brings me the most joy right now with Audra is her friendship with Sally. Audra and Sally were both underestimated in the past. I would love to see them team up professionally and knock the world on its ears. But this week, Sally blabbed Victor's big secret plan to Audra, not knowing how big that secret was. If this all blows up in Adam's face, he might use that as an excuse to kick Sally to the curb without having to admit he slept with Chelsea.

That is if Chelsea doesn't crack and confess to Billy, which she was on the verge of doing on Friday's episode. If that happens, Billy and Lily's professional relationship could turn personal again, and Chelsea and Adam can do it again because, let's face it, they totally want to. I loved Adam and Chelsea when they first got together. It was the sweetest little romance. Soaps have to break people up and switch them around for variety sometimes, but I am fine if we circle back to Adam and Chelsea for a while.

Adam has his hands full with Victor's latest scheme. I know that Adam's heart is in the right place, and he genuinely wants to try to help protect Jack, but I don't trust Victor's promises to Adam because he never keeps his promises.

Jack has enough trouble right now with Diane and Kyle fighting. It's amusing how Diane is so shocked and upset that Kyle got another job and wants to move out after she fired him. What did she think would be the outcome? Her shock and disbelief are comical. "Why is Kyle doing this to us? Why is he pushing us away? How can he be so distant?" Diane, spare us the drama. You fired him. Is Kyle being a brat? Sure. But Diane needs to admit and own her part in their fractured relationship. If I were Jack, I'd be tempted to pop more pills because those two fighting all the time is annoying.

My dear readers, I like Chance, and he deserves to be something other than Summer's sounding board. Remember when he was a cop, and he had an actual storyline? Since his move into the business arena, he is either a pawn between Devon and Billy, or Summer's unpaid counselor. Connor Floyd is a fantastic actor and worthy of more meaty material. He could start his own business and become Genoa City's P.I.

What will happen tomorrow, dear readers? Will the TSA confiscate Harrison's worm-finding kit at the gate? Will Claire pack a beret in every color to match her nanny outfits? Will Kyle post Parisian Instagram photos to enrage his mother and Summer? Will Heather hitch a ride to Europe with Audra and Kyle, since no one wants to go to Portugal with her?

Will Faith ever get up the nerve to tell Lucy she doesn't want to be Lucy's new BFF? Will Nikki and Adam strike a deal to get Victor to reveal his long-term plans for them? Will Sally blab anyone else's secrets around town? Will Victoria regret going back to work for her conniving father? (Of course, she will.) Will Cole ever get a new job, since it's clear he's not leaving Genoa City?

Only tomorrow knows, dear readers, and I will tune in tomorrow as long as there are tomorrows.
