On The Young and the Restless, Chance puts Summer’s feet to the fire, and hears the truth, and he hears the words directly from her mouth. Summer and Chance are done.
Chance would be a fine thing on The Young and the Restless

For The Young and the Restless's on-again, off-again couple, Summer (Alison Lanier) and Chance (Connor Floyd) are finally done. As Taylor Swift said, “We are never, ever, getting back together.” These are big words, but they looked pretty final. Chance, who deserves his shot at a proper love story on the show, did what we as fans have wanted him to do for a while now. Chance held Summer accountable for her feelings and where they stand as a couple. Finally! When asked, Summer said that she wants Kyle back. We all knew it, and we could all see it, the way Summer looked at Kyle even when she and Chance were supposedly on a date.
This is good news for soap fans even though it may not seem ike it. Chance knows what his heart suspected, and his detective instincts didn't fail him. Summer wants Kyle back. Good luck with that, by the way, Summer. Kyle looks pretty cozy with Claire and has said he prefers his relationship with Claire over his one with Summer. Kyle is not likely to cave in to being with Summer just so things are easier with her grandfather, the great Victor Newman. Does anyone else think Kyle quite likes the challenge of not being accepted by Victor? Summer is manipulative and crafty, so I wouldn't count her out on trying to sway Kyle's mind through some trickery, but that is fantastic news for Chance; he’s dodging a bullet here.
The only thing that may grab some attention on Summer is her conversation with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). Phyllis told Summer that Chance is a cop, and their families have been nothing short of a parade of crimes and criminal investigations. So did Sumer and Chance really have the chance…sorry opportunity to be a couple? Summer had to deal with Chance investigating and then arresting Daniel during the Heather (Vail Bloom) murder investigation, which took a considerable toll on their relationship.
Maybe, just maybe, Summer will rethink these words and then realize that she wants to give that relationship another chance…too many chances? I think so too, run a mile chance, run several, focus on work and the right girl will appear in front of you, or, being The Young and the Restless, you’ll be back on the merry go round in no time.
You can watch The Young and the Restless weekdays on CBS or stream live or on-demand on Paramount Plus.
