Damian stormed out after Nate revealed his true reason for reaching out was to put Damian in touch with Amy. Audra confided in Amy about her troubled past with her parents. Damian was later revealed to be a man named Holden, who’d been meeting with Nathan on the real Damian’s behalf. Damian ran a background check on Nate, and Holden later discovered that Amy had once worked for Nathan. Amy’s health began to decline. Posing as Damian, Holden agreed to meet with Nate again but refused to see Amy. Holden was caught in a lie when Amy ambushed the meeting and realized Nate had been in contact with an impostor. Amy begged Holden to persuade Damian to meet with her, stressing that it was a matter of life and death. After Holden encouraged Damian to meet with an obviously ill Amy, Damian called Nate to arrange a time to talk. The Newmans stood by their story that Ian had confessed to Heather’s murder. Victor returned home from the hospital, but he was irritated when Jack stopped by to check on Nikki. Victor ordered Jack to tell Kyle to stay away from Claire. Victoria and Nikki’s pleas for Victor to stay out of Kyle and Claire’s relationship fell on deaf ears. Claire hatched a plan to win Victor’s approval of her romance with Kyle. Victor was pleased when Adam announced that he’d already taken the initiative to downplay the incident with Ian in Newman’s media outlets. Diane suspected Kyle was falling in love with Claire. Jack balked at Diane’s request to redecorate the Abbott mansion, citing the many memories he had in the house. Diane later enlisted Traci’s help to convince Jack to proceed with the project. Jack gave Billy the funding to launch Abbott Communications. Sally warned Billy that working with Phyllis could be explosive, but he remained intent on hiring Phyllis and Daniel. Phyllis interrupted a romantic lunch between Billy and Sally. After hearing Billy’s pitch, Phyllis was enthusiastic about joining his new company, but Daniel said he needed more time to think. Phyllis vowed she’d never forgive Sharon, but Sharon hoped Phyllis would let go of her anger once Daniel did. Chloe gave Billy and Sally’s relationship her blessing. Phyllis was irked to learn that Billy and Sally were taking a trip to Paris together.
