Alan hypnotized Sharon, who remembered that a dark pickup truck had run Phyllis off the road. Nick theorized that the truck driver had also been involved with tainting Sharon’s medication. Nick and Alan encouraged Sharon not to push herself, but Sharon insisted on continuing with hypnotherapy to unlock the rest of her memories. Under Alan’s guidance, a hypnotized Sharon recalled that Heather had still been conscious after Sharon had pushed her. Sharon recounted that a third person wearing gloves had been present in Heather’s apartment, and that person had touched Sharon’s shoulder. Sharon was deeply relieved that she hadn’t been responsible for any of the heinous crimes she’d thought she committed. Michael was determined to have the police reopen the investigation into Heather’s death. Jordan reflected on meeting Ian in prison and bonding over their mutual hatred of the Newman family. It was revealed that Ian had paid a terminally ill woman to take Jordan’s place in prison. Ian plotted to exploit Claire and Mariah’s friendship to his and Jordan’s benefit. Ian instructed Jordan to get Sharon out of the picture. Posing as a prison chaplain and new Society patron, Ian befriended Tessa. Unaware of Ian’s true identity, Tessa raved to Mariah about the friendly minister she’d met. Ian and Jordan kissed. Billy and Phyllis commiserated over how everyone else underestimated them. Phyllis urged Billy to reconsider his plan to go after Victor for their children’s sake, but Billy vowed to take back what was his. Jack declined Billy’s request for funding to take Victor down and reclaim Chancellor. Billy disowned Jack. Jack became wistful when he found his “Jacky” ornament, and he and Traci reminisced about Dina. Kyle struggled with his distrust of Diane when he discovered she hadn’t yet vacated his office. Jack empathized with Kyle’s feelings about Diane. Diane confided her woes to Esther, who advised Diane to make a truly selfless act to prove her sincerity. Nikki, Victoria, and Kyle supported a nervous Claire on her first day of work at Chancellor. Kyle and Claire officially declared themselves a couple. Victoria worried that Victor would try to interfere in Kyle and Claire’s relationship. Nate’s investigator tracked down Damian, and Nate convinced Amy to join him in Los Angeles to reunite with her son. With Phyllis and Summer’s help, Daniel cheered Lucy up by decorating their apartment for Christmas and remembering how much Heather had loved the holiday.
