The Young and the Restless: Wednesday, January 29
On The Young and the Restless, Ian pointed Mortenson’s gun at Nick, Michael, and Victor in the Newman living room and reminded them that they had dragged him to the ranch in the middle of the night; he had not barged in. He insisted he had come to Genoa City to make amends, but they refused to believe that or saw that he had changed. Victor told Ian he was a sick man who needed help.

Ian said whatever happened now was on all of them, and they gave him no choice. “I’m going to do what I should have done a long time ago,” Victor said. He offered Ian a deal. Ian said if he was going out, he was going to drag the whole family down with them. Ian ordered Victor to invite all the kids over immediately. Ian pointed the gun at Nick and told Victor to call over his kids, or he’d kill Nick in front of him.
Michael tried to reason with Ian, but he told them off. He told Michael that as he wasn’t a member of the family, he could leave, but Michael insisted on staying. “I may not be blood, but Victor’s been there more than my father ever was. Everything I learned about family loyalty, I learned from you,” Michael told Victor. He said he was staying.
Ian mocked his nobility, but Michael told him that he had a talent for negotiating with reasonability. Ian declined the offer and repeated he’d shoot Nick in the head. Nick told him not to, but Victor called Adam and asked him to come to the ranch immediately. Ian laughed in delight that they were getting the party started. He called upstairs to Nikki to come down and see what he was going to do to her family.
Ian turned the gun on Mortonson and told him to turn around, then whacked him over the head with the gun a couple of times until he collapsed on the floor. Nikki, Claire, and Victoria came downstairs and realized that Ian was there holding everyone at gunpoint and spotted the security guard on the floor. Ian can’t believe his luck to have all three join the party and makes them go stand with Nick, Michael, and Victor.
Ian declared he was “saving mankind from the corrupt, corrosive Newman cesspool. When Nikki called him gutless, Ian told Nikki he would kill her last so she would be able to watch him kill them all one by one. Victoria pleaded for Claire to leave, but Ian called her a traitor. Ian admitted that he not only knew Jordan, but he had also fallen in love with her. “And you killed her,” Ian grimaced.
Victor told Ian that Jordan had killed herself, but Ian wouldn’t believe it. He said Jordan would never leave him, and the Newmans had taken her away just like they took everything and everyone else from him. Ian said tonight would be about justice for Jordan. Nikki snapped that Jordan didn’t deserve justice after everything she did, killing and torturing people. “It was pure evil, just like you,” Ian laughed.
“I knew my aunt better than anyone, and I can guarantee you she didn’t love you back. She was a sociopath,” Claire told Ian. She added that Jordan was only capable of hatred, and everything else was manipulation. Claire explained that she saw who Jordan truly was and knew she weaponized her against people who she now knew were kind and generous. Ian was upset that Claire had been brainwashed by the Newmans and thought they needed to be stopped.
Claire held Ian’s attention, telling him what Jordan had told her about their relationship and how Ian put his needs in front of hers. “She said you abandoned her,” Claire added. When Claire said it didn’t sound like love to her, Ian went to shoot her. They talked him out of it, but Ian wanted to know how Jordan died and what part Claire played in her death. Ian pointed at Claire and said he blamed her for losing Jordan.
Adam came in and asked what was happening, then realized Ian was there with a gun. Adam tried telling Ian off but he told Adam to join the group. Victor reminded Ian that he wouldn’t walk off the ranch alive and asked again to make a deal. Ian asked how much Victor would pay him to spare his family. Victor said he would sacrifice himself for all of them but Victor thought all the Newmans needed to be eliminated.
Adam told Ian to cut the crap and said that he knew him too well — well enough to know this wasn’t just about revenge. Adam asked Ian what his price was. Ian ranted about Adam being Victor’s lackey and how his siblings couldn’t stand him. Ian said he knew the real Adam and how much he resented all of them for not being a good enough Newman. Nick told him to stop, but Ian just laughed that Nick spoke up right on cue, as he always had to be the hero.
Ian sneered at Nikki that she was his prized possession, which she had always been. Ian mocked Nikki when she claimed he would never know the type of love she and Victor shared. Ian asked why she was driven to booze if she was so in love. He said Nikki was as complicit as Victor. Victor stood up and walked towards Ian. He promised him he would never get out of there alive, but Ian knew that. Ian promised Victor he wouldn’t get out of there alive either.
Victor told Ian not to be a fool, and he could have more money than he’d ever seen. Ian told him money meant nothing to him anymore as the only thing he wanted was Victor’s “carcass on the floor.” Victor offered his life for his family, but they all pledged to stand together and vowed not to leave him. Victor said since his family refused to leave, he and Ian could leave together off the property instead. Victor gave his word that he would tell his security to let them leave but Ian didn’t believe him.
Ian wanted to know where Abby was, but Victor told him he didn’t call her. Ian told Victor to pick which kid was to be killed first. Victor growled that no one would die but him. Victor tried to take Ian’s gun but got shot instead. Everyone freaked out and got him to sit down so they could try to stop the bleeding. Victoria tried to call for an ambulance, but chaos erupted. Suddenly, Victor lunged at Ian and tackled him to the couch. During the fray, the gun went off.
Nick got the gun, and everyone rushed to Victor to pull him back as he was lying on top of Ian. Ian had been shot in the stomach, and Victor was losing a lot of blood from his wound. They called an ambulance and tried to stop Victor’s bleeding, but he was getting faint quickly.
Ian saw that Nick was holding the gun and told him to finish him off. “Don’t think I haven’t thought of it,” Nick growled. Ian said the ambulance was for Victor. “You'd rather watch me die slowly...painfully,” Ian groaned. “It wouldn’t be close to the pain you caused other people, so it sounds pretty cool to me,” Nick said gravely as Ian groaned in pain.
