Summer came into Crimsom Lights but wasn’t too pleased to see Sharon while she ordered her coffee. Summer admitted Daniel told them about Sharon’s exoneration. Sharon said she didn’t know if there was anything she could say to make it better. Nick walked in as Summer told Sharon that her words weren’t enough.
As Nick joined them, Summer told Sharon that they would always be connected through Faith but she did lie and tried to frame Daniel. Summer listed off all the things Sharon did to Daniel and Lucy and wasn’t sure she could forgive it. “This may be hard to believe, but I feel the same way,” Sharon said. She said she was horrified by the things she did and found it hard to forgive herself.
Nick asked Summer to take her time to process but also to hear what Sharon was saying. Summer snapped that Phyllis was upset as well. Nick understood, but he thought Sharon deserved understanding and forgiveness, as she couldn’t be held accountable for what she did while drugged. Summer wasn’t there yet and didn’t want him pushing her. Sharon apologized again, but Summer told her she would need time.
Sharon excused herself to the patio, and Summer headed for a table in the opposite direction. She looked disappointed when Nick followed Sharon instead. Nick thought everyone would feel better in time. Sharon wondered if the only thing that would change people's minds about her was if she paid penance for the crimes she had committed.

Nick didn’t think Sharon did anything worthy of doing penance. Sharon thought people would never forgive her, especially Phyllis. Nick decided they should stop talking about it and go get breakfast at Society instead.
Summer sat down to have her coffee as Claire came in. She stopped to say hello, and they had a terse conversation about Harrison’s project. Summer apologized for Claire’s dinner plans with Kyle being ruined. “No big deal,” Claire said with a shrug. Summer insisted that Claire must have been at least a little disappointed.
Claire assured Summer that she understood that Harrison came first, and their dinner with Victor could happen another day. Summer didn’t think Victor would change his mind about Kyle or the Abbotts. Claire thought his hatred was extreme and wondered if it was justified.
Nick stopped at the table to say hi to Claire and check that Summer was okay before leaving with Sharon. Once alone, Summer told Claire that Victor never tried to interfere in her relationship with Kyle and was supportive. Summer said that Victor may have warned her against the Abbotts, but overall, he was just happy for her.
Claire said she wanted it sorted out as she really cared about Kyle and wanted Victor to understand that. Summer advised her not to push too hard. Summer added that Kyle didn’t seem too hopeful that Victor would ever accept him or the two of them being together. Claire asked if he actually said that, and Summer noted that it was just a vibe he had given. Summer said it was an uphill battle that might not be worth it, but Claire insisted it was.
Summer had to get to work but thanked Claire for putting her plans on hold the night before as it meant a lot to spend the evening as a family. “And don’t worry so much about Kyle. Things will work out exactly how they’re supposed to,” Summer added.
At Society, Phyllis met with Daniel. “I have made a decision about my future,” he told her. Daniel said that depending on the position Billy was willing to offer him, Daniel was willing to give it a shot working with them. Phyllis was thrilled and wanted to call Billy right away. When Billy didn’t answer, Phyllis seemed distracted.
Daniel wondered what was really going on, so Phyllis admitted that she and Sally didn’t like one another at all. Phyllis pointed out that Sally manipulated Summer and tried to break up her and Kyle, but Daniel noted that Summer had moved past that, and so should she. Phyllis worried that she would influence Billy’s opinion of her.
Daniel questioned Phyllis about her actual feelings. He said neither of them should work with Billy if she wanted to date him. Phyllis assured him that she wasn’t interested in Billy that way. She thought Sally was a distraction at best but at worst pure destruction.
Daniel wasn’t sure what he would do at Abbott Communications, but he thought maybe he could find a way to honor Heather. He and Phyllis talked about Heather’s interests, like dogs and karaoke, but they got emotional talking about her, so they stopped.
Daniel noted that Phyllis always had his back. He wished Heather was there, and the nightmare would end. Phyllis told him to hope that it would get better. Both of their hearts sank when Nick and Sharon walked in.
Nick and Sharon stopped at the table to say good morning. Phyllis couldn’t look at them, so they went to walk to a table, but Phyllis stopped them. “Hey Nick, you might want to check Shaorn’s pancakes for PCP. I hear it causes quite a reaction,” she said.
As Nick and Sharon sat down at a table, Sharon noted public treatment like that was what she deserved. Nick thought it was a form of punishment that she was taking. He said she should look at people's reactions as though it was the penance she thought she deserved. Sharon didn’t think it was enough.
Across the restaurant, Phyllis and Daniel decided to leave. Nick and Sharon looked at the menu. Nick saw mimosas and recalled how he’d made her some at one point. He thought it was good to hear her laugh again. Sharon suggested they get some mimosas.
In Paris, Billy and Sally arrived at Ashley’s apartment. Sally appreciated that Billy had arranged to use one of her guest rooms. Billy and Sally made plans for the day and were being playful when Phyllis called. Billy ignored it, and they went out to sightsee. They only made it a few blocks before getting soaked by the rain and had to come running back.
Billy and Sally decided to spend the day inside instead and went to the bedroom. After making love, they lay in bed talking. Sally said that was the first time she had made love in Paris, and Billy agreed. She said that was hard to believe. “It felt like the first time,” Billy said softly. He thought it was magical being caught in a rainstorm with her. “Must be the weather,” Sally mused but Billy said it had to be her. The rain stopped, but they were content right where they were.
