At home, Sharon couldn’t stop pacing by the window. Faith watched her mom as they both worried. Nick came in with coffees, and Sharon told him she spoke with Traci Abbot’s boyfriend, Alan, who is trained in hypnotherapy. Sharon was going to see him later and tell him her situation. She hoped he could help her remember things she’d forgotten from blacking out.
Nick and Faith worried that Sharon could remember something traumatic. Sharon said she needed to know, just like she needed to know who tampered with her meds. Nick and Faith decide not to fight her on it but make her promise to let them be there for her.
At the ranch house, Michael was blown away at how similar it was to the original. He and Victor sat to talk business. Victor shared that Jack thought he’d pulled one over on him. “I’m not going to let him have the last laugh,” Victor said. Michael thought it was funny that Jack was able to pull it off. Victor snapped that Jack got lucky but he wanted to beat him and needed Michael’s help.
Michael advised Victor to let it go, but Victor was still bent out of shape about the night Jack and Nikki spent in a hotel. Also, as Jack was gloating that he bested Victor, he needed to take him down. “What the fool doesn’t realize is he gave me the perfect chance to undo Jabot from the inside, once and for all,” Victor seethed.

Victor gave Michael marching orders, but we didn’t hear what they were. Michael told Victor he would see what he could do. Stunned and silent, Michael left as Nick came in. Nick noted that Michael didn’t seem happy.
Victor asked to hear nice stories about him working with Victoria at Newman. Nick assured him that he was happy. Victor asked if he preferred working with Adam, and Nick said he did. Nick said he came by to update him about Sharon, not talk business. Victor was glad that Sharon lived on the property, and the last time she was ill, she burned down the place. Nick said there had been developments in her case. Victor offered his resources to help find out who tampered with Sharon’s meds, but Nick thought it was safer and better for everyone if they played by the books and worked with the police.
Billy came to the Abbott mansion, and he’d already heard that Kyle was back at Jabot. Jack explained that things weren’t in place. Billy didn’t understand why Jack lied to him. Billy was hurt that Jack let him believe his view of him was that he was an abject failure. Then, he didn’t hear the news about his reconciliation with Diane and Kyle’s return to Jabot from someone else. He wondered why Jack didn’t trust him.
Jack explained that he and Diane had only pretended to break up and why. Billy said that Jack caused the family pain with his deception. Jack explained that he couldn’t take the chance of it leaking to Victor or Kyle that they were faking. Billy wondered whose idea it was to go that far. “Diane and I decided to do what was best for our son. I would think, as a father, you would understand that,” Jack told him.
Billy was upset with Jack’s deception but was happy to know Jack had pulled one over on Victor. Jack told him the whole story about Glissade and how Victor went after Kyle and then Diane. He noted that Victor was reveling in the fact that he thought he was breaking up Jack’s family. Jack told him how he’d bought up all the factions of Glissade that Victor sold off for pennies on the dollar.
Jack said Victor was furious when he learned that Jack had one-upped him, but he didn’t care. Billy thought they were going to give Victor a one-two punch. He said that Jack knocked Victor off balance, and Billy would knock him out.
Jack knew that Billy was upset at Victor but thought putting the whole thing behind him and moving on would be better. Jack said it was different for him because Victor came after his family. “You just turned this family and half of this town into dupes to get the best of Victor,” Billy countered. Jack said everything he did was to protect his son and a move of desperation. Jack knew that Billy came to him for a win, but he was feeling hot, and it was a losing proposition to strike with that mindset. “You talk about family. Victor took Chancellor from me. He turned my own mother against me,” Billy reminded him. Jack said he understood how painful that was, but the ship had sailed, and he wasn’t getting Chancellor back. Jack offered to find a spot for Billy at Jabot, but he told him he didn’t need a handout. “You’re better than this. Don’t let Victor’s actions define who you are or what you do,” Victor pleaded. Billy said nothing and left.
Kyle met with Diane at Society. They were both proud of one another for their work at Jabot. They talked about work, their relationship, and their mistakes. Diane suggested that he and Kyle needed to have the same type of conversation.
Kyle agreed that part of his anger toward his dad was his unwillingness to meet him halfway. He thought that if Jack could do that, as Diane had, then they could get back on track. Kyle said he was going to the office to take care of a few things, and then he would be back to meet with Jack.
After Kyle left, Billy approached Diane. He wanted information on how Diane got Victor to hand over Glissade. Diane told Billy that she thought Victor trusted her, but he thought she’d overplayed her hand and was onto her. Billy thought that Victor said that to save face, but Diane noted that Victor’s actions proved it.
Diane explained that Victor was onto them and their plan. She asked why Billy wasn’t going to his brother for advice on how to handle Victor. Billy said that Jack told him to move on. Diane agreed there was no point in focusing on revenge. Billy thought it was funny that Diane and Jack could tell him not to go after Victor when they turned their lives upside down to run a major con on Victor and everyone else. Diane thought she had a solution to his problem and a way to keep him out of trouble.
At Crimson Lights, Phyllis spoke with Danny on the phone. He got an early release of a new album Lucy wanted for Christmas. Lauren joined Phyllis as she hung up. Lauren thought the holidays would be rough, but things would get better. Phyllis agreed and said everything would be better after Sharon paid for murdering Heather in cold blood.
Lauren apologized for dismissing Phyllis when she shared her theory that Sharon was framing Daniel. Phyllis accepted her apology. They agreed that thanks to Phyllis’ persistence, Sharon was charged with Heather’s murder. When Lauren said she’d heard Sharon had tried to run Phyllis off the road, she had another flashback. Phyllis saw the truck coming at her.
Lauren worried that Phyllis was okay. She explained that she kept having flashing images but wasn’t sure she could trust what she could see. Phyllis said she was having a lot of difficulty piecing together what happened the night of the accident. She remembered bright lights coming at her, crossing the center line, and then it went black. But the images of a vehicle coming at her are getting more vivid. “It’s not Sharon’s car,” Phyllis confided. “Are you saying Sharon wasn’t the one responsible for your accident?” Lauren asked.
Phyllis told Lauren about the texts and said it made sense that it was Sharon who ran her off the road. Phyllis recounted what she knew about Sharon’s account of the accident. She reluctantly admitted that someone else could have run her off the road that night. Sharon walked up and said, “So you’re finally willing to admit that’s a real possibility?”
Phyllis snapped and asked why Sharon was always following her. Sharon told her they wouldn’t see each other so much if Phyllis stopped coming into her coffee shop. Phyllis said she couldn't believe that Sharon was walking free. Phyllis mocked that maybe she wasn’t really seeing Sharon and Faith in front of her; maybe she blacked out in a cell somewhere, and she was just hallucinating it. “That’s not funny!” Faith barked.
Phyllis told them it wasn’t meant to be funny. “You know what’s really not funny though? Your mom is using the defense that someone drugged her so that she could go on a killing spree,” Phyllis retorted. She got emotional as she looked at Sharon. “You said you would admit guilt, but you’re standing here playing the victim instead of taking responsibility,” Phyllis said tearfully.
Faith sneered that her mom was indeed drugged as Sharon looked indignant. They insisted that Phyllis explain why she told Lauren that she wondered if her mind was playing tricks on her and that someone else ran her off the road. Sharon asked if Phyllis saw another car or if she hated her so much that she was willing to lie.
Phyllis asked why she would help Sharon after everything she had done to her family. Faith snapped that they wanted the truth and turned to Lauren to get it. Lauren told her she wasn’t comfortable talking to Faith about her private conversation with Phyllis.
Phyllis asked if Faith and Sharon were just walking around eavesdropping on people. “What, did the voices in your head get boring? You know those voices, the ones that convinced you to kill Heather,” Phyllis told her.
“This is about the accident, Phyllis!” Sharon yelled. “Yeah, you should admit to that, too,” Phyllis added. Michael walked in and yelled at Phyllis that Sharon didn’t have to admit to anything. “Oh my god,” Phyllis said as she put up her hands and looked incredulous, “Here’s your lawyer.”
Phyllis looked at Michael and said, “This new defense is absolutely disgusting. Our friendship’s over.” Phyllis walked out. Sharon told Michael that Phyllis had told Lauren that it may not have been Sharon who had run her off the road that night. Michael asked Lauren if that was true, and she reluctantly admitted that it was.
Michael listed all the facts he had and added a confession from Phyllis to the list. Sharon told Michael that she was going to be hypnotized to get more answers. Michael said that, as an attorney, he was trained to never ask a question that he didn’t know the answer to. Sharon insisted she needed answers. Michael wanted to go with her as her lawyer. “Once we know what you know, we can figure out where to go from there,” Michael decided.
At Society, Jack was waiting for Kyle at the bar when Victor approached him. Jack told him they had nothing to talk about and wasn’t looking for a fight. As Kyle walked in and saw them, Victor told Jack he was there to admit defeat. “Well played,” Victor said as Jack looked confused.
