In Summer’s room at the Athletic Club, Summer held a memory card with Heather’s photo on it and told Phyllis that she couldn’t believe they would be burying Heather in the morning. Summer and Phyllis agreed it was best that Lucy wasn’t there to see Daniel arrested. Phyllis noted the small memorial was a good idea, and they could do something special after Danny’s tour so he and Lucy could be there.
Phyllis noted that the only silver lining was that the memorial would be the best place to set a trap for Sharon. Phyllis had high hopes that Sharon would admit what she did and Daniel would be exonerated. Phyllis thought she knew Sharon well enough to know that she would use the memorial as an excuse to victimize herself. “She’ll be there, and I’ll be waiting to give her a real reason to suffer,” Phyllis said.
Summer was not on board with her mom’s plan and asked Phyllis to consider her history with Sharon. “Your plan is going to backfire,” Summer warned. Phyllis said Sharon would be at her most vulnerable at the memorial, but Summer thought it wasn’t the time or place for Phyllis’ plan. Summer remembered how she had tried to do the same thing to Diane at Phyllis’ funeral and regretted it as she had wrecked the service.
Summer told Phyllis to let Christine do her job and get the charges dropped. Phyllis still didn’t trust Christine, but Summer refused to let Phyllis mess up and make everything worse. Phyllis asked if Summer thought it was possible that Phyllis’ plan was a way to catch the real killer. Summer agreed that anything was possible. “That’s all I needed to hear,” Phyllis said. She added that

At the Athletic Club, Billy had another text message from his mom. Jill told him to call her in the morning and reminded Billy that time was running out. Billy sat at the bar and called Lily. At Crimson Lights, Lily rolled her eyes when she saw who was calling. “What do you want, Billy?” Lily asked. Billy invited Lily for a drink so they could talk. Lily told Billy that if he was still in charge at Chancellor, they had nothing to talk about. Billy said it was for one drink, and she would not be disappointed.
Lily joined Billy at the GCAC bar and was suspicious of his motives. Billy admitted that the company needed her and said he wanted to clear the air between them. “The only reason you’re sucking up to me is because Jill forced you to,” Lily retorted. Billy admitted that Jill may have applied some pressure but felt it was necessary to make him realize he’d been a jerk.
“I’m here, hat in hand, asking for forgiveness and for a chance to fix things. Come back to Abbott-Chancellor, on your terms, of course,” Billy said as Lily smiled. Lily asked if that meant she would be CEO and Billy would take a lower position. Billy clarified that the title of co-CEO was on the table. Billy told Lily that he had fired Phyllis, but Lily said it didn’t matter as she was never going to work with him again.
Billy reminded Lily that they both had reasons to be upset. “See, if that’s your answer, then that’s exactly why I won’t work with you again,” Lily said. Billy insisted he was not asking her back to please Jill. Billy pitched to Lily that he had made a mistake firing her and admitted he should have known she would stab him in the back when she told him he was a liability. Billy asked Lily to remember how good they were together and to put Abbott-Chancellor first.
“I know you want to come back. It’s a chance to save the company that we both care about so deeply,” Billy added, unaware that Phyllis was listening. Phyllis marched up and wanted to know how Billy could do this to her. She believed he had temporarily fired her and couldn’t believe he was offering her position to Lily. Billy tried to stop Lily from leaving, but she wanted no part of the conversation and walked out.
Billy told Phyllis they had agreed that she would step away from the company to take care of Daniel, and that’s what she still needed to do. “I’m going to do what’s important to me, and that’s protecting Abbott-Chancellor,” Billy snapped.
Phyllis stayed to drink martinis and vent to the bartender. She told him she didn’t offend easily and was tough but then welled up with tears. “But even the toughest women hit their breaking point, and tonight I have hit mine,” Phyllis cried. Phyllis talked through her stress, explaining that she was on a life-altering mission. “I don’t care what anyone thinks of me right now,” Phyllis said adamantly. Phyllis shared with the bartender that she was saving her son’s life and wasn’t going to lose. “I’m proving everyone wrong. I have a plan,” she added.
Amy returned to Nate’s at his request and asked if he had made a decision to help find his half-brother, Damian. Nate admitted he had not and wanted to know more about Damian. Amy shared that Damian was quiet and studious in his early teens. She said that Damian was best friends with his father, Jackson, and when he died, it was a terrible blow for Damian. Amy added that Damian withdrew and lost motivation, and then every conversation between her and her son became an argument.
Amy said she and Damian had a particularly bad argument, and Damian ran off. He checked in occasionally, but she hadn’t heard from him in years. Nate understood why Amy needed to find Damian but didn’t think he was the person to do it.
Nate thought being the one to find Damian would be rash and reckless. Nate noted that finding out that Jackson was not his father and that he had a half-brother could be a damaging revelation for Damian. “If his whole world turned upside down when Jackson died, how will he react when he finds out that he isn’t his father?” Nate wondered.
Amy admitted that she didn’t have the financial resources to hire a private detective. Nate wondered if Damian even existed or if this was all a scam. Amy pulled out an envelope and showed him Damian’s birth certificate and a lock of hair that he could use to run a DNA test. “Having your trust is only hope,” Amy added.
Nate thanked Amy for bringing the items and said he would make his decision overnight. Amy todl him that she was enjoying being back in Genoa City and planned to contact some old friends in town. Before leaving, Amy reiterated that Damian wasn’t a bad person, he was just a little lost.
At Crimson Lights, Traci met with Alan. She laughed that it was ridiculous that he hadn’t moved into the Abbott mansion as planned, as they were together so often. She surprised Alan by asking if he had second thoughts. “Why are you stalling? You seemed on board to move in a few weeks ago,” Traci noted. Alan said he was concerned about the family drama going on and that Ashley was set to return. Alan didn’t want to remind Ashley of all of the horrible things that his twin brother, Martin, had done to her.
Traci thanked Alan for being thoughtful but said she talked to Ashley, who was looking forward to seeing him. She noted that her family knew she was happy with him, and that was all that mattered to them. “Besides, it’s my house, too,” Traci pointed out.
Traci told Alan that she had waited a long time to find him and to be as happy as she was, and didn’t want to waste another second. “It feels like the next natural progression for us. Just be honest if you don’t agree,” Traci said. “I need a key,” Alan said with a smile.
Billy walked into Crimson Lights, and Traci asked him to join her and Alan. She updated him about Alan moving in, and Billy said he was happy that Traci was. Traci added that Jack was in Paris to get Ashley. Alan shared that he had spoken to Ashley’s doctors, and they thought she had turned a corner. Billy said he was looking forward to seeing Ashley at the wedding, at least.
Traci wondered if Billy wasn’t excited about Abby’s wedding. Billy explained that although he was happy for Abby, he was not a card-carrying member of Devon’s fan club. Traci thought that they had agreed to split the company. Billy said they had until Devon started getting Lily to make moves against him. Billy worried that if he failed, the whole world would see it as another Billy Abbott screw-up and wished his bad rep wasn’t hanging over his head.
Alan offered to give Billy alone time with Traci, but Billy told Alan to stay. “If you’re going to be a member of the family household, you should know what you’re getting into,” Billy told him. Traci laughed and said that it wasn’t that bad and that she wished that Billy believed in himself. Billy said that he did, but everyone else didn’t, and it felt like they were all coming at him from every angle. Traci encouraged Billy to fight back. Billy agreed that he would battle every enemy, even if it were his mom. “The gloves are coming off,” Billy told them.
