At the Abbott mansion, Jack was happy to have Diane home. However, they were both unsure how Kyle was feeling after their revelation that they were faking their estrangement to prove to him that Victor had used him.

Jack and Diane worried that their plan could backfire. Diane wondered if Kyle would tell Victor their plot before she could get the Glissade paperwork. Jack didn’t think Kyle would do that. Diane noted she had a meeting with Victor and they agreed she needed to get the deal done ASAP.

Diane wondered if Kyle would ever forgive her. Jack was sure he would, eventually. Jack reminded Diane that they would have to keep up the hostile act in public until this was over. She said it would be hard to do after the night before and snuck out the back so no one would know she spent the night.

At the Athletic Club, Kyle told Claire that his parents’ trick only proved that they never had faith in him to figure things out on his own. “So nothing changes. If anything, it’s worse,” he said about his relationship with Jack and Diane.

Claire asked if Jack and Diane’s plan worked. Kyle admitted that he fell for it and Victor fired him, so he supposed it did, although he felt like a fool. Claire thought his parents’ hearts were in the right place. Kyle said he wasn’t there and might never be. Claire asked if it helped Kyle to be angry all the time. She pointed out that Jack and Diane put a huge effort into helping him and wondered if he could meet them halfway. “Let go of the anger before it eats you alive,” Claire suggested.

Jack found Kyle at the Athletic Club; Claire left them to talk. Jack acknowledged Kyle’s feelings and asked him to understand what he and Diane had been trying to accomplish. Kyle was livid and blamed Jack’s extreme actions with Nikki for Victor’s wrath. Kyle warned that Victor would double down when he found out he had been played. Kyle suggested that he be the one to warn Victor.

Jack told Kyle that Victor would still screw him over and insisted that he and Diane did what they did to protect him. Kyle thought too much had been done and said. “I just don’t believe you anymore,” Kyle told Jack before leaving.

At the ranch house, Nikki found Victor looking upset and asked what was wrong. “I just heard from Nicholas. Sharon was arrested for the murder of Heather Stevens,” Victor revealed as Nikki gasped. Nikki said there must have been some mistake, but Victor told her that Sharon had confessed.

Victor told Nikki what little he knew about the situation. Nikki was in disbelief. Nikki was angered that Sharon did this to her family and worried about Faith taking the news. Victor added that Sharon was involved in Phyllis’ car accident.

Victor told Nikki that Phyllis was unconscious and in critical condition after being run off the road. “They found Sharon’s car nearby,” Victor added. Victor wanted it to be a day of celebration for taking Chancellor, and he wanted to install Nikki as CEO. “Today needs to be about family,” Nikki insisted.

Nikki was irritated when Diane arrived and said she had a meeting with Victor. Nikki let her in and left Diane and Victor alone in the living room to have their meeting. Victor asked if Diane felt good when she humiliated Kyle in front of everyone. Diane said she didn’t do it just for revenge, so Victor wanted to know why she did it.

Diane told Victor she was teaching her son a lesson. “So we both got what we wanted,” Victor said before taking out his phone and pressing a button. He told Diane that he had forwarded her the signed papers for the transfer of Glissade to her. Diane noted that Victor’s hatred of Jack was too strong; she didn’t think Victor would just give Glissade away, and she wanted to know what the catch was. Victor said Glissade didn’t mean anything to him and told her to let herself out.

In Phyllis’ hospital room, Daniel told Elena that his mom was still the same. Elena explained that these things can take time. Chance walked in, and Daniel coldly told him that if he was looking for Summer, she was at home. Chance tried to sympathize with Daniel, but he didn’t want to talk. Chance asked if Christine was there yet, but Daniel didn’t know why he thought she would be there. “Did something happen when you went to see Nick last night?” Daniel asked.

Christine entered the hospital room and was taken aback by Phyllis’ status. Daniel asked why Chance summoned Christine. “We’ll get formal word very soon, but I wanted you and your attorney to hear it from me first. The charges against you have been dropped,” Chance said.

Christine and Daniel wanted to know what changed, but Chance couldn’t divulge anything until after the arraignment. Daniel said he didn’t need the confirmation, as he knew it was Sharon. He lectured Chance that Phyllis knew the whole time, and no one, including him, believed her. Daniel walked to Phyllis’ bedside and repeated the news.

Daniel demanded some answers, but Chance couldn’t give them. He apologized for everything and said he was a free man. Chance left to take a call, and Daniel asked Christine if it was for real. She said she’d need an official confirmation, but it seemed he was free.

After Christine left, Daniel asked Phyllis to wake up. Summer returned, and he told her there had been no change. Daniel shared that Summer wasn’t going to believe what he had to tell her. Christine texted that she had confirmation that Daniel's charges had been dropped.

Summer told Daniel that it wouldn’t bring back Heather, but maybe it was the start of things turning around. Summer went to Phylliis’ side and told her that Daniel was free. “It’s time for you to wake up and say your four favorite words: I told you so,” Summer said.

Michael came into Crimson Lights and found Nick on the patio. “I got here as soon as I could. You look terrible. What happened?” Michael asked. Nick told him that Sharon had been arrested for Heather’s murder. “She’s in trouble, Michael. I need you to take her case,” Nick said.

Nick told Michael that Sharon’s confession was convincing. “She knows things about the crime that have not been released to the public,” Nick said. He told Michael that Sharon had waived her rights and that her arraignment was happening already.

In the motel room, Jordan rushed in and called out for Ian. “It’s done. Sharon confessed to everything, and she’s being arraigned,” Jordan said. “She’s caught! As it should’ve been from the beginning,” Ian told her happily. Jordan agreed it was better late than never. Ian noted that Sharon was far more cunning than he expected, but in the end, her conscience betrayed her. “And that’s the risk of having one,” he added. He and Jordan chuckled.

Ian and Jordan celebrated over a meal with wine and talked about how Sharon went above and beyond their expectations with her confession and framing Daniel. Ian seemed quite satisfied knowing that Sharon would be behind bars for the rest of her life. Jordan said it was time to pop the champagne, and they laughed.

Ian wanted to find out Sharon’s family’s reaction before they celebrated. Jordan admitted she wasn’t able to find that out yet. “But that was the point, Jordan. To pull Sharon away from the people she loved. Faith, Mariah. We had a deal. I made it clear from the beginning. If you help me, then I’ll help you with your family problem. Criss-cross. Understood?” Ian said.

Mariah cried to Tessa at Society about Sharon. She blamed Sharon’s meds and thought she must be having some sort of mental breakdown. “My mother is not a murderer. She’s not capable of doing something like this in her right mind. There has to be more,” Mariah cried.

Mariah told Tessa that Faith had shut down. Tessa asked how she could help. Mariah said that Tessa was already doing everything that she needed.

Mariah recalled how adamant Sharon was that she plead guilty. Tessa suggested that they go for a walk and get some air. Mariah knew she was working and shouldn’t leave. “I can’t go anywhere without this following me. My mom was arrested for murder,” Mariah told her. She said that she couldn’t even say the words. Faith messaged and said Sharon had made bail and was heading home. Tessa thought that meant Sharon had a lawyer and would defend herself rather than give up.

Nick and Michael brought Sharon home after the arraignment. Michael told Sharon that he needed to know everything if he handled her case. Sharon didn’t want a defense; she said she needed to take responsibility for what she had done.

Nick told Sharon to tell Michael everything in case there was something she remembered that would explain what happened. “Okay,” Sharon said simply as she looked Michael in the eye and confidently told him, “I killed Heather, and I framed Daniel. That’s what I did, and that’s what I already confessed to.”

Michael pointed out that her confession was given without an attorney present but Nick said Sharon was adamant to call Chance and tell him what she did. Sharon told them both to stop trying to deploy a legal strategy when there wasn’t one. “I will stand by every word of that confession, and I will fight anybody who tries to stop me,” Sharon insisted.

Nick insisted that something was happening that caused her to do what she did. Sharon thought that since Heather was dead and she framed Daniel, it didn’t matter if it was out of character or not. Nick said Sharon wasn’t a cold-blooded killer. ”What if I am?” Sharon asked.

Nick said he knew Sharon, and it wasn’t who she was. He needed her to fight for this. Michael pointed out that Sharon had been on a revolving door of different medications. Michael said he would need the specifics from Sharon.

Michael asked Sharon how the drugs made her feel and tried to explain that she had felt off and out of balance. “I would lose time. I couldn’t think straight,” Sharon explained. “We can use this,” Michael told Nick and Sharon. Just then, there was a knock at the door. Nick opened it and found Daniel. As he stepped inside, he stared at Sharon. “How could you?” he asked.

Nikki returned to the living room and wondered where Diane was. “I gave her Glissade and sent her away,” Victor explained. Nikki wondered why Victor did that. Victor reminded Nikki that she asked that he didn’t use the company as a way to get to Jack. “So I gave it to her. Now it’s her responsibility, and she can do what she wants with it,” Victor added.

“So you did that for me?” Nikki wondered. Victor told her that, in the end, everything he did was for Nikki, but there were other considerations. “Let me just say that Glissade is the gift that keeps on giving,” Victor mused. He said that Diane was in for a huge surprise when she realized what she’d been given.
