At Crimson Lights, Phyllis was surprised that Sharon was back to work so soon. Sharon asked Phyllis if she had spoken to Daniel. “I hope you’re not thinking those recent developments are going to get you off the hook with me,” Phyllis told her.

Phyllis said that Chance was a sucker for a sucker for a sob story, but Sharon reminded her that it was only the DA who could and did have her charges dropped. Sharon told Phyllis that as much as she wanted to believe it was Sharon who ran her off the road, it was Jordan. Sharon agreed that in the crazy state she had been in, she was capable of it, especially being high on PCP and Cameron telling her what to do. Sharon said Cameron kept telling her to kill Phyllis, but she fought every day against him. “I refused to let him win. That’s why you’re sitting here right now, hating me more than ever,” Sharon concluded.

Sharon apologized for everything that happened. Phyllis wondered if she was really sorry for "everything," including what she claimed she did while drugged. Sharon said she knew it didn’t excuse anything and hoped one day, Phyllis, Daniel, and Lucy would forgive her. Phyllis said she couldn’t speak for Daniel and Lucy but knew that she would never forgive Sharon.

Phyllis shared that she promised her kids to let go of her rage towards Sharon but said she would never forgive her. Phyllis said Sharon obviously didn’t understand what she was saying or else she wouldn’t be sitting there whining and throwing pathetic apologies at her. “Did the drugs give you amnesia? Because you realize you framed my son, right?” Phyllis asked. She told Sharon that what she did was worse than planting evidence.

Phyllis explained that it was bad enough that her son had to see the towels soaked in Heather’s blood, but Sharon lied to the police and Daniel when she claimed that Heather said she was afraid of Daniel. “My son’s heart was shattered in a million pieces, but you didn’t care about what he was going through. You just had to cover your criminal tracks,” Phyllis said. She told Sharon she couldn’t take it back and was upset that she wasn’t even paying for her crimes. Nick walked in as Phyllis assured Sharon that the shock would wear off and Daniel would feel the same way she did.

Nick approached Phyllis and Sharon and asked what was going on. Phyllis said they were clearing the air. Nick updated Phyllis about Ian and Victor’s shooting. Phyllis noted that Heather was collateral damage for Ian and Jordan’s vendettas. Nick said Summer claimed Phyllis had moved on, but it didn’t seem like she had. Phyllis told them she had moved on but was clarifying things with Sharon. “And I think I made myself clear,” Phyllis said to Sharon before leaving.

Sharon told Nick how much she appreciated him. Nick suggested that Sharon had more healing to do. She said that this whole ordeal has probably caused a lot more psychological impact than she has given time to process. “Yes, which is why you can’t focus on Phyllis right now,” Nick said. Sharon agreed that she needed to focus on her own recovery. Nick assured Sharon he and the rest of the family was there for her to lean on. She thanked him for everything, and they hugged.

In the park, Holden told Damian they couldn’t keep the game up much longer. ‘What happens if the next time I meet Nate, Amy shows up? She’ll see I’m not you immediately, and the charade will be completely blown,” Holden reminded him. “Not necessarily,” Damian smiled.

Damian said that Holden just had to insist that Amy not be present. He thought Nate had gone through too much trouble to give up on him yet. Damian and Holden weren’t sure that Nate was trying to scam him, but Damian believed there was more to it than just reuniting with Amy. Damian didn’t like surprises and wondered what Nate actually wanted. He asked if Holden had gotten back anything about Nate in a background check. “Who is he? I need to know how he’s connected to my mom. And what does he want?" he explained.

Damian didn’t know that his mom had ever spent time in Genoa City or had any connections in the corporate world. It seemed like a stretch that she’d know someone like Nate. Just then, Holden got new information from the background check he requested about Nate. Holden shared that Nate was a doctor who gave up his career after an injury. He also found out that Nate’s mother was a doctor and his father was a private detective, who passed away when Nate was young. Damian had heard their names before but pointed out that his father, Jackson, was a doctor, and maybe he and Olivia knew one another.

Holden kept reading and realized that Amy had worked for Nate’s father before he was born. Damian said she never talked much about her past before that. He only knew she was an office assistant somewhere, and he never asked for details. They agreed that had to be the connection to Nate.

Amy came to Nate’s and talked to Nate and Audra about Damian. Audra knew Amy was disappointed that Damian didn’t jump at the chance to see her. Amy worried that knowing she was involved had already scared him off.

Amy repeated how Damian had spiraled after his father’s death. Audra comforted Amy, saying that she and her son were once close, and he had to be affected knowing that she was looking for him. Nate agreed it was too soon to think it was all over.

Audra and Nate told Amy to think positively. She recalled fond moments she and Damian shared, and Audra got her to sit down and share one. Amy told a story about Damian falling in love with a stray cat and begging to keep it. Jackson didn’t think he was responsible enough, but Damian secretly kept it anyway. They ended up all charmed by the cat, and she cried while talking about when they eventually had to put her down. Amy missed Damian a lot and said she wanted to connect with him.

Amy regretted being pessimistic but knew she didn’t have much time. She pointed out that Damian had cut her off and didn’t think he would change his mind about not wanting anything to do with her. Nate said if he was Damian, he’d do a background check on him, and he would probably find out that Amy worked for Nate. Amy didn’t think he’d figure out that she’d gotten pregnant back then. Nate said regardless, he didn’t think they’d seen the last of her son.

Audra distracted Amy from her worries by talking about a job posting she had seen and asked her opinion. Amy told her not to sell herself short and to hold out for the right opportunity. Nate agreed as the phone rang. It was “Damian.” Nate answered and told him that he was hoping he would call.

Sally came to Billy’s house for lunch. He brought home Chinese takeout, and he told Sally he’d come up with the perfect idea for his media venture. “I’m this close to having Phyllis and Daniel join me,” he added triumphantly. Sally was surprised and asked if Phyllis being involved was a good idea.

Billy explained that Jill wanted him to fire Phyllis simply for being Phyllis. Sally looked horrified when Billy touted Phyllis’ business acumen and noted that she had his back when no one else did. “No one? Because I seem to recall being there a few times when you were losing Abbott-Chancellor,” Sally pointed out. Billy agreed that she did, and he wouldn’t have gotten through it without her but claimed he was just referring to the business structure. “Good save,” Sally replied.

Sally reluctantly accepted Phyllis’ involvement but didn’t like it. Billy told her how much he appreciated her being in his quarter and how much he loved having her in his life. Sally looked at the amount of food Billy ordered and advised him that in the future, he didn't need to overdo it for her. She added that he needed to use some caution with Phyllis. She worried that two powderkegs like him and Phyllis together might be an issue. But Billy thought they could turn that energy into a positive.

Billy understood where Phyllis was coming from and that they had a lot in common with being underestimated. He pointed out that he and Phyllis worked together at Restless Style and Jabot and was determined she was the best person for the job. Sally thought he was swimming with sharks.

Sally and Billy read their fortune cookies. Sally’s said she would have great success in her new venture. Sally and Billy were kissing when Phyllis dropped by. She saw the food and Sally and asked if she was interrupting. Phyllis said the food smelled great and dug in. Billy asked if she had come by for lunch or if she and Daniel had come to a decision. Phyllis told him he’d need to give them more information about the business.

Sally made a quick exit and said she needed to get back to work. Billy walked her out while Phyllis took a look around. When he came back, he asked what she thought of his place. Phyllis told him she loved it, and it really had the Billy Abbot vibe. Billy agreed and credited Sally for all the decorating. He reminded Phyllis that Sally was an interior designer and had helped Daniel with his place as well. Phyllis commented on the difference between Daniel's relationship with Sally, and what Billy's appeared to be. Billy reminded Phyllis about boundaries around their personal lives. She smiled and told him she was Firewall Phyllis.
