At the Abbott mansion living room, Kyle and Claire recount his relationship with his parents and how they made up. Claire was happy that they were making amends and finally understanding each other. Kyle realized that his parents were right. Claire was impressed that Kyle could admit that and kissed him. “They were really, really right,” Kyle said, hoping for more. They both laughed but then realized they had the house to themselves for hours. Claire suggested they go to the kitchen and eat chocolate chip cookies.

Kyle told Claire how much he appreciated how she always listened without judgment. He credited her for teaching him to get out of his own way and enjoy the good things in life. Claire stepped away, still uncomfortable taking compliments. Kyle told her what a good person she was. Kyle and Claire went up to his bedroom and made love.

Afterwards, Claire was emotional. She admitted it was her first time. She explained that because of her Aunt Jordan, she had lived most of her life as a tool and did not have a true identity. Now that she had a family and a real life, she got to know Kyle, and her life was wonderful.

Faith ran into Lucy at the park and asked how Phyllis was doing. Lucy recounted how her dad was framed and Phyllis was hospitalized. Faith showed sympathy but Lucy told Faith it must be hard on her as well as all along, Faith’s mom was the real killer.

Lucy said that she looked up to Faith too much to ever hate her, but the thought of Sharon enraged her. Faith acknowledged that everything that happened to Heather and Daniel was awful. Lucy recounted everything from the moment Heather was missing til they started talking about murder. “Murder is someone who wanted my mom dead,” Lucy noted. She said Sharon made it clear that she hated them, but now she wondered if Sharon had been planning it the whole time. “Was the only way to stop feeling her pain was to kill my mom?” Lucy asked. “Stop!” Faith cried.

Lucy knew what it was like to hear someone saying terrible things about their parent. She reminded Faith that she had to endure Sharon doing exactly that to her. Faith was bothered that Lucy made it sound so calculated. Lucy wondered if she was saying that everything was an accident. She reminded Faith how Sharon dumped Heather in the river and framed her dad, and treated Lucy like she was the demon spawn. “All because I wanted to make friends with you,” Lucy added. Faith wanted to leave. Lucy asked if Faith could admit what her mom did. “I can’t tell you what you want to hear because I don’t know what to believe,” Faith cried.

Lucy told Faith that Sharon was a monster who killed and lied about it repeatedly. She questioned how Faith could still love Sharon after everything she did. Faith defended Sharon, and Lucy called her delusional. Faith asked if there was anything that her mom could do to make Lucy stop loving her. “I can’t answer that because my mom is dead, and your mother murdered her. But hey, your mom is nice to you, so I guess that makes it all okay, right?” Lucy retorted. Faith said Sharon would never have done this in her right mind.

Lucy asked if Sharon was insane the moment she killed Heather, but nowshe was fine. Faith said if she knew Sharon, she’d understand what she was trying to say. “Like she tried to understand us?” Lucy cried. She reminded Faith how Sharon said Lucy was a horrible influence but now Faith is claiming “the murderer” is a great person. Faith tried to say that Sharon would never do something like that but Lucy interrupted. “She did! Your mother took my mom from me. She tried to take my dad away from me, too. And every single day, she was nice to you, wasn’t she?” Lucy sobbed. She asked if Sharon was crazy or just evil. Faith said she was sad for Lucy but couldn’t listen to her say those things about her mom anymore and left.

At Crimson Lights, Michael told Sharon she let Phyllis get under the skin, and he would not let her plead guilty. Sharon said she had never listened to Phyllis, but what she had said was true. And pleading guilty was the solution she could live with. Michael refused to consider it.

Sharon agreed that Michael was brilliant enough to figure out a way to keep her out of prison, but it wasn’t what she deserved. Sharon cried about Lucy and Heather and what she had taken from them. “I confessed for a reason because there has to be some justice in this world,” Sharon said. Michael told her there was house arrest and probation, and other ways to contribute to society. Sharon asked why she should have it easier than anyone else. “I owe this to Heather and everyone who loves her,” Sharon told Michael.

Michael suggested that they call Nick for his input. Sharon was at peace with her decision to plead guilty. She asked Michael to meet with the D.A. to change her plea immediately. “If you won’t help me do that, then I will find someone who will,” Sharon added.

Michael asked if Noah, Mariah, and Faith would applaud Sharon’s decision. Sharon said she needed to show them that she knew the difference between right and wrong. Sharon thought that everyone would be better off without her. Michael believed in redemption and tried every day to be the man of whom everyone could be proud. “This is different,” Sharon said. She told Michael it was what she wanted and couldn’t be talked out of it.

At Society, Nick met with Chance and told him that Sharon’s confession wasn’t sitting right with him. “I need your help,” Nick said. He explained that Sharon has done things when she’s off her meds, but nothing like this. He agreed that something had happened when she had seen Heather, but it wasn’t premeditated. Nick said that the blackouts were key to everything because she doesn’t remember killing Heather. Chance agreed to everything Nick was saying.

Nick told Chance that he had spoken to Sharon’s therapist with her permission and that there was no evidence whatsoever that her medication could cause that kind of violence. He wondered if she had a massive psychological break and what that meant to her current rationale and cohesiveness.

Chance admitted he never thought in a million years that Sharon would have killed Heather. Nick told Chance how Sharon knew her meds were off and had them changed, but nothing improved. Chance said he wasn’t going to chase down random theories when there was a confession. Nick told him that Sharon changed her meds again and gave him the bottle of what she had been taking. He asked Chance to start investigating off the record.

Chance agreed to see what he could do but didn’t think it would change anything. Chance left, and Nick had a message to Michael to join him and Sharon, so he went to Crimson Lights as requested. There, Michael told Nick that Sharon wanted to change her plea. Sharon insisted it was what she wanted, and no one got a vote on it. Nick said he had something that might change her mind.

Nick explained that he had taken the medication out of the garbage and thought that it could lead to something that would help Sharon realize that she didn’t do what she thought. Sharon thought he was out of line to do that, but Nick asked her to not change her plea, for him.

In the motel room, Ian was frustrated that there was nothing in the news about Sharon’s confession. Jordan showed up in a disguise, and he didn’t recognize her. Jordan thought that meant her new look would do the trick.

Ian was delighted that Jordan was ready to take on the mission to go find out how Sharon’s family and friends were reacting to her confession. He didn’t like that the media was treating her like she was untouchable while he was mocked and exploited, treated like a maniac. Jordan reminded him that the Newmans owned a large slice of the media pie and were protecting her. Ian said they couldn’t for long.

Ian said if her family wasn’t upset about everything then it was all for nothing. Jordan said she would go find out what she could. She noted she had to watch her step out in public. Ian told her he wanted results and not to let him down.

Jordan said she must be hearing things as it sounded like Ian threatened her. She told Ian he wasn’t in charge of her. Ian apologized, and Jordan haughtily accepted. She told him she would see what she could do and left.

Outside of Society, Kyle and Claire walked up and stopped to kiss. Behind them, Jordan was looking through Society’s window and froze in place, hoping that they wouldn’t notice her right beside them.
