At the Abbott mansion, Diane and Jack agreed they liked Claire and Kyle. Jack worried that Victor would try to ruin their relationship. Diane shared Jack’s concerns but didn’t think Victor would do anything to hurt Claire. Jack said she didn’t hear what Victor said earlier and was sure he was going to interfere.
Diane said that she warned Kyle, but he wasn’t concerned, and she thought they should stay out of it. She wasn’t sure that if Victor acted up, Jack wouldn’t go after him. She pointed out that Kyle and Claire weren’t the first couple to have their family disapprove of their union, and people do survive defying the great Victor Newman. She used Jack as the example, noting he’d been told to stay away from Nikki but didn’t.
Jack became adamant that Nikki was his friend and that it would stay that way no matter what anyone said. Diane was taken aback that he seemed to direct his frustration at her. She said that she respected his friendship with Nikki; Victor didn’t. They agreed to change the subject to avoid a fight.
Diane told Jack that the house was a living, breathing part of the family, but it was a little tired and rundown, and she wanted to make a few tweaks. “You want to redecorate?” Jack asked. Diane said she just wanted to make it more comfortable and inviting. She said some things were museum quality and it should be more kid-friendly. Jack said it was his home, and it was all him. He pointed out scratches and cracks, how they got there, and were all attached to memories. Diane said she understood; she was just hoping to have a little piece of her in there, as well.

Jack wanted Diane to feel like it was her home, too. Jack wondered if it had anything to do with Victor rebuilding a main house replica. Diane insisted it had nothing to do with anything at all. Jack liked the rebuild; he said that he liked the nostalgia behind it. Diane was dejected, taking Jack’s answer as a no. He said he wasn’t flat-out saying no, he just needed to think about it. He offered to bring it up with Traci and Ashley and get back to her.
After Jack left, Traci came in, and Diane told her she was working on a project and could use her help. Traci was surprised when Diane told her she pitched a redecorating idea to Jack, and he said that he’d think about it. Traci said that the whole house was full of memories and it would mean change, something Jack didn’t like. Traci reluctantly agreed the house could use a little bit of an update and said she’d encourage Jack to be okay with a refresh.
At Society, Audra was rambling about an interview she had, but Amy got dizzy. Alarmed, Audra said to forget the interview, she wanted to get Amy out of there. She brought her home and got her comfortable on the couch. Amy told Audra she knew she was trying to make her feel better, but she was a realist and knew her time was short. Audra encouraged her not to give up on reuniting with Damian yet. Amy thought if he really wanted to see her, it would have happened by now.
At Crimson Lights, Holden met with Nate. Thinking he was Damian, Nate said to go ahead and ask him anything. “Damian” asked how Nate and Amy knew one another. Before the conversation went much further, Nikki walked by, so Nate introduced her to “Damian Kane.” After Nikki walked away, Nate explained that Amy used to work for Nathan. “Damian” pretended he knew nothing about Nathan or the private eye business.
“Damian” asked why Amy wanted Nate to contact him. Nate said it would make more sense if he would just meet with Amy, and she could explain. “Absolutely not,” “Damian” grimaced. He said he had personal reasons not to see her but thought it was a sign of good faith that he met with Nate and wanted to hear from him whatever there was to tell. Just then, Nate got a text from Audra telling him to hurry home as she was worried about Amy.
Nate said he had to cut it short and bolted out the door. Damian joined Holden and asked what that was about. Holden told Damian that Nate pushed for him to talk to Amy. Damian wondered what this was all really about. Holden suggested saying thanks but no thanks and head back to L.A. “No, I have enough issues back there as it is. I need to know if Nate’s part of it,” Damian told him.
Kyle and Claire walked through the park and talked about their lunch with Kyle’s family. Claire enjoyed hearing Jack tell stories about John. They wandered to Crimson Lights, where they saw Nikki and told her about their lunch. Kyle gushed about how much his family loved Claire.
Kyle took a call, and Claire told Nikki she saw her expression when Kyle mentioned she was getting closer to the Abbotts. Nikki said she didn’t have a problem with them but agreed that Victor did. Claire was sure she wasn’t going to let Victor interfere, but Nikki advised that he was persistent. Claire asked her grandmother to champion her relationship with Kyle to Victor.
Nikki said convincing Victor to bless her relationship with Kyle was a hard sell. Claire argued that it had nothing to do with Kyle, it was about Victor and Jack’s war. Nikki said that she’d normally tell her to follow her heart, but this case was different. Nikki assured her they wanted her to be happy, but she worried Claire would miss out on that happiness with Kyle as long as Victor was concerned.
Claire refused to accept that Victor would interfere in her relationship. Nikki said there might be something they could do about it, but it would depend on Claire. She said the key to getting what she wanted was to tell Victor that when she was with Kyle, she was very happy. When Kyle returned, Nikki left for the office. Claire asked Kyle what he would say about having dinner with her grandparents.
Nate came home and checked on Amy. He suggested she move in so they could properly care for her. He also wanted to get her checked out and see if there were new medications or treatments she could use. Amy reluctantly agreed and then asked how his meeting with Damian went.
Nate recapped the meeting, noting that “Damian” was surprised that she had a connection to Genoa City and Nathan. Nate added that he suggested talking to Amy, but he only wanted to talk to Nate. Amy fretted that her son didn’t want to see her, but Nate said they had given Damian plenty of reasons to be wary. Amy insisted that she be the one to tell Damian the truth, but Nate suggested they do it together.
Nate called “Damian” and apologized for leaving so abruptly. He asked if they could finish their conversation at Nate’s apartment. Nate promised to tell him the whole truth about Amy. Holden came over and charmingly said hi to Audra as she left so they could talk. Nate and Holden sat down, and Nate told him that he was going to apologize in advance for what he was about to do and hoped that “Damian” could understand why he had to do it. He called for Amy, but when she came down the stairs, she pointed at Holden and asked Nate, “Who is this man?” She looked at Holden, aghast, and asked him again who he was.
