At Society, Daniel and Summer met with Phyllis. She ranted about how Michael took Sharon’s case. Phyllis tried to reel it in and focused on being grateful to be alive and able to have breakfast with her kids. Summer and Daniel added other positives like how the real killer was being dealt with, and Lucy was home.

Christine came in and interrupted to say goodbye to Daniel. She said she was going on tour with Danny again. Phyllis suggested that Danny had forgotten about her with all the young groupies around. Phyllis explained her snark as she was frustrated that she was the only one who saw the truth about Sharon. Christine admitted that there was some truth to Phyllis’ theory, but Summer said that Phyllis pushing Sharon to confess almost got her killed. Phyllis was distracted by another flashback to being run off the road.

Daniel asked if Phyllis was okay. Phyllis shared that whenever someone mentioned the crash, she relived the moment. Phyllis said it wasn’t a clear memory, but she definitely remembered seeing the truck trying to run her off the road. “The truck?” Christine asked. She wanted Phyllis to give details on what she remembered, but Phyllis couldn’t. Summer asked if Phyllis remembered seeing Sharon’s silver SUV.

Phyllis repeated that she wasn’t sure of the details and said she had just seen flashes of headlights at night. Christine wanted to know what the truck type was and if it was Sharon’s SUV or not. Phyllis insisted it was Sharon. Christine wondered if it was just an accident. Phyllis reminded Christine that Sharon was a confessed murderer who had sent texts to lure her out there before running her off the road. Christine said it was one theory, but there were other possible scenarios.

Phyllis got upset and argued about how Nick said Sharon was at the accident site. Christine kept peppering her with questions and Phyllis couldn’t take it anymore. “So much for a nice breakfast with my kids,” Phyllis snapped as she stood up to leave. She said her heart and blood pressure couldn’t take the frustration, and she had to go despite Summer and Daniel’s pleas for her to stay.

Christine took Phyllis’ seat after she left and said something was not right. She pointed out that Phyllis was very rattled about something. Christine wondered if it was an accident after all. Daniel asked if she was saying that Sharon wasn’t responsible. When Christine said something didn’t add up, Daniel thought that Sharon’s blackouts were conveniently timed. Christine told him that the tire marks didn’t match Sharon’s SUV but did match a truck. Summer said they couldn’t tell how long the tire marks had been there.

Christine said that despite her feelings for Phyllis, she really wanted her to find out the truth about that night. She reminded Daniel and Summer that there were too many wrongful convictions and to keep their minds open. “Justice is justice,” Christine added. She told them she and Danny planned to be back around the holidays and had to go.

Once alone, Summer asked Daniel if what Christine said about Sharon possibly not causing the accident bothered him. “Honestly, I really don't care,” Daniel said. Summer wondered if Sharon did try to kill Phyllis if they could be in danger, too. Daniel thought too many eyes were on Sharon, and she wouldn’t commit crimes anytime soon. Daniel thought Sharon was probably guilty of running Phyllis off the road, but either way, he wasn’t going to give her his energy to talk about her. “She killed Heather. She’s guilty, period. And she’s going to pay for everything she did. Like Christine said, ‘justice is justice,’” Daniel said firmly.

At Crimson Lights, Adam asked Esther where Sharon was. She acted protective and didn’t want to give him information. Billy interrupted and asked Adam when he would stop getting involved in other people’s business. Adam thought that was rich coming from Billy, who got himself involved with Sally.

Sally interrupted them before the conversation got too out of hand. Adam told them that what happened with Chelsea was out of desperation and not intentional, whereas their being together was. He told Sally that she would never find happiness with Billy and warned her about all of his lies. He said not to forget that she was better than that and deserved more, and then he walked out.

Billy and Sally sat down and noted that they knew Adam had seen them coming from Sally’s room and that he’d probably been stewing about the two of them together ever since. Billy thought that Adam now knew how it felt. Sally worried Billy had only slept with her for revenge, but Billy apologized and said it was the furthest thing from his mind. He liked Sally for a lot of reasons and was genuinely attracted to her. Billy thought Sally needed to keep her guard up and not doubt herself. “Doubt myself? I promise you that will never happen,” Sally said.

Sally admitted she still felt a pang of sadness for what could have been when she saw Adam, but would never second-guess herself where he was involved ever again. Billy said his life was a hot mess, and maybe it was a good thing he wasn’t in a serious relationship. Sally agreed and knew he’d get his life back on track once he set his mind to it. She said she would focus on her designs, and flying solo would give her time to focus.

Sally showed Billy photos of Abby’s wedding and asked if the ranch house was as grand as it looked. Billy told her it was and complimented her on Abby’s stunning dress. He thought it made her a creative genius to design a beautiful wedding dress while she was so sad.

Phyllis interrupted their conversation and told Billy she was ready to take on the world. Sally said she had to get to Marchetti. Once alone, Phyllis told Billy she hoped he wasn’t getting involved with “that woman.”

Phyllis told Billy he was her friend, business partner, and future partner in crime. She wondered if he was still interested in taking down Victor and warned that Sally had a bad record with men. Being involved with her would make Adam a bigger enemy of Billy’s than he already was. “If we’re going to do this, do not incite the wrath that is Adam Newman. Let’s not make it harder than it already is,” Phyllis said to Billy.

Michael met with Nick at Victor’s office and said the toxicology report should be coming in later that day. Michael told Nick that he had spoken to Chance. Nick assured Michael that Chance would share the results before giving them to the D.A., but Michael said that wouldn’t happen.

Michael admitted he told Chance not to share the results with Nick as he was Sharon’s ex, and that would not look good when the report inevitably came out. He said he got Chance to understand it was important for Michael to know if anything came back odd so he could strategize as her lawyer, but that was it.

Michael told Nick that Chance had faith that the D.A. would be fair no matter what. Michael said it was better than going to a private lab, but by cutting Nick out of it, the credibility of the report wouldn't be questioned, and Nick couldn’t be accused of tainting evidence to help Sharon. Michael reminded Nick that testing the pills was a long shot. They both agreed that they felt like something was off, but it looked like Sharon’s confession was viable.

Nick said the whole thing was tearing him apart, and he wanted to do anything he could to make it less painful for everyone. Michael said Phyllis was his best friend, but he was walking a thin line where his loyalties lie. However, his instinct said something was off.

Nick said that Sharon agreed to wait for the results before changing her plea. He had never seen her so determined and sure of herself. Michael noted that some things were unforgivable, yet Nick felt compelled to stand by her no matter what. Nick explained that Sharon was part of him and he would always be there for her. Michael surmised that this may be the one thing Nick couldn’t protect Sharon from.

Adam overheard Michael and Nick’s conversation as he entered the office. He asked what was going on and if there had been a development in Sharon’s case. Nick told Adam that Sharon was fine and to leave it alone. Nick abruptly ended the meeting with Michael.

After Michael left, Adam asked Nick if he had to be so dismissive. Nick snapped that he was dealing with a serious family crisis and didn’t have time to give a damn about Adam’s hurt feelings. Adam insisted that he was there in support of both Sharon and Nick. When Nick still kept him out of the loop, Adam began reminding Nick about his history with Sharon, which bristled Nick even more. Adam backtracked and said he was just explaining that he cared and was concerned. “If you want to help, stay out of it,” Nick told him. He told Adam that every time he was involved with Sharon, it ended badly and reminded him that he was no longer in her life.

Adam was angered and sneered at the fact that Nick was always trying to control Sharon’s life. Nick countered that Adam’s connection to Sharon wasn’t healthy. “So this is about the past?” Adam asked. “I appreciate concerns, but leave it to me,” Nick implored. “Of course, you’d say that. Why do you always have to be the hero?” Adam asked. “And why do you have to be the curse?” Nick snapped.

Adam repeated he was there to support both Nick and Sharon. He wondered who Nick thought he was to judge him and his past with Sharon. Nick told Adam that although he may think his concern is genuine, he had a pattern of running to Sharon every time his life imploded and knew he was hurting about losing Sally. “Sharon cannot take on the added responsibility of trying to fix your broken heart,” Nick explained. “You think I’m that selfish that I want her comfort?” Adam asked incredulously. Nick told him it was a pattern.

Nick pointed out that Adam could get through his heartache on his own by focusing on Connor and Newman Media. He asked him again to not derail things for himself or for Sharon. He asked him again not to get involved with Sharon’s case. “Think about all the time you tried to bail each other out and made it worse. I can’t turn a blind eye to that,” Nick concluded. Adam continued to argue that he just wanted to help, so Nick snapped. “I’m asking…no, I’m telling you to stay away from her,” Nick said adamantly.
