Nate and Amy met with Denise Tolliver, the private investigator, who told them that she had tracked down Damian's address. “We’ve found him, Nate. We found your brother,” Amy said happily.
Denise said that she followed Damian home from work and observed him from her car, but his apartment building was in a decent neighborhood, and he looked fine. Amy was emotional and felt like her heart was beating out of her chest. Denise said he hadn’t been in that place too long, but he often changed jobs and residences. Amy asked Nate to go immediately, but he was hesitant.
Nate told Amy that if Damian were in L.A., he would go on the next flight and bring him back. “Pack your bags, get ready to see your son,” Nate told Amy. She suggested that he approach Damian on his own first. “He could be really angry that we tracked him down,” Amy worried. Nate was surprised she didn’t want to come with him as she hadn’t seen her son in so long. He asked Amy what was wrong.
Denise told them she was staying at the Athletic Club and told them to let her know when they sorted it out. Once alone, Nate implored Amy to tell her why she was hesitant to travel with him. Amy said it was her health. Nate asked what he was supposed to tell Damian if she wasn’t there to be part of the explanation of who he was. “I know you’re nervous. That’s understandable,” Nate told her. But he hated the thought that she would let the chance slip by. Amy admitted she was afraid. “Now that finding Damian is a reality, I’m going to have to tell the truth about the secret that I kept from him his whole life, and I think he’s going to hate me for it,” Amy said through tears.

Amy told Nate she could understand if he wondered what he’d gotten himself into, but Nate wasn’t judging. He could see what a big deal it was to tell Damian the truth. Nate suggested that Damian could be grateful to learn the truth and to have one more opportunity to spend time with her and tell her that he loved her. He said it didn’t take away from the fact that he had a real dad in all the ways that mattered. Nate reminded Amy why she had come to Genoa City in the first place and told her what she wanted was happening.
Amy finally agreed to go with Nate but said she would wait at the hotel until after he talked to Damian, and that way, they could let her know if he wanted to see her. Nate said he would make all the arrangements immediately. He didn’t know how he was going to approach Damian, but he would proceed with caution and not scare him off. Amy said when Damian felt cornered, look out.
Amy thanked Nate for everything and left to get ready for the trip. Nate texted Audra and asked her how she felt about a trip to Los Angeles.
At Daniel’s apartment, Lucy and Daniel watch the living room as the movers take away boxes. “That’s the last of it,” Daniel tells Lucy. “Goodbye, Mom,” she sobs in his arms. Phyllis came in and had seen the boxes being removed. Daniel explained that he and Lucy had gone through Heather’s things. Lucy cried and said she felt like they had erased Heather from ever being there. Daniel stopped her and said they were donating her things to a good cause, which is what she would have wanted. “Who she was and what she meant to us is right here,” Daniel told her, pointing to his heart.
Phyllis softly told Lucy that this was part of the process of moving on. Lucy agreed that her counselor said it was closure. Phyllis told her there was no rush and to take her time. Lucy said she wasn’t really feeling any closure; she was just feeling sad. Phyllis comforted Lucy as Daniel watched.
Phyllis told Daniel that she needed some advice from him, but it could wait. Daniel said he could use a break and distraction. Phyllis suggested they all go for lunch, but Lucy wanted to take a nap as she hadn’t slept much the night before. Before Lucy left the room, Daniel stopped her. “This is one of the hard ones,” he told her. Daniel promised that the days would get better and that Heather would have wanted them to move on with their lives. He pointed to his heart again and said that Heather would always be right there. Lucy sadly went to her room, and Phyllis told Daniel he was the best dad and she was really proud of him. “Right now, I want to focus on being a good son, so what’s up? What’s bothering you?” Daniel asked through his tears. Phyllis suggested they go somewhere to talk, where Lucy couldn’t hear.
Daniel and Phyllis went to Society and said she wanted his advice about her future. She told him that Billy was going to fight Victor to get back Chancellor, and he wanted Phyllis to help him. Phyllis claimed that she told Billy a hard no. “I did that because of you and your sister. I like our relationship now, and I don’t want to jeopardize anything,” Phyllis added. Daniel smiled and asked what the problem was. Phyllis said she woke up that morning and thought she’d made a huge mistake turning Billy down.
Phyllis explained that what Vic tor and Jill did to Billy and Lily was unconscionable and that Nikki didn’t deserve what she got. Phyllis added that it was Billy’s chance to prove himself, and she had been right alongside him in wanting to prove herself as a heavy hitter as well. She said she hadn’t felt that way since she was running the Grand Phoenix. “I need something in my life. I need a new direction, a purpose,” Phyllis told him. She said that she’d been focused on her family and Sharon, and she would still fight that fight, but she needed something else. “Just like you and Lucy need closure to move on. I need something to allow me to do that, too,” Phyllis told Daniel.
Phyllis asked Daniel for his honest opinion, and so he told her that her initial instinct was right and she should stay out of it. Daniel thought it was an insane and impossible idea, and Billy was really good at convincing people to come along for the ride, only to crash and burn. “Do not be that person. You don’t need this in your life,” Daniel advised. Phyllis said she needed something.
Daniel told Phyllis she could move mountains if she wanted and thought she should get into the job market. Daniel suggested they find a way to work together and get a project. Daniel told her to tell Billy she wasn’t going to help him. Phyllis said he had given her a lot to think about. “That’s all I ask, that you think about things before acting,” Daniel said. He made her promise to do that. Right after Daniel left, Phyllis texted Billy that she’d thought about things and asked if they could talk.
Sharon thanked Nick for coming over and told him she was feeling good, but her mind was racing. She told him that she was anxious to do another hypnosis session and had invited Alan over. She said she needed answers and couldn’t wait anymore. Nick said he could be there for the session.
Nick told Sharon he wanted answers about the night Heather died as well but was worried as the last session had taken a lot out of her. Sharon was adamant she was ready and wanted to do more. Alan arrived and asked if Sharon was ready to dive back in. Sharon told him that now that she knew she didn’t cause Phyllis’ accident, she needed to fill in the rest of the blanks. Alan warned her that going back to the night Heather died could mean reliving some traumatic experiences. Despite Nick’s concerns, Sharon was sure she wanted to proceed.
Michael arrived at Sharon’s as Nick reiterated his concerns. Alan recommended that sometimes suppressing the memories could be more damaging. Sharon was sure she needed to know what happened. Alan advised that she might not remember anything, but Sharon was willing to take the risk. Sharon settled into the armchair, and Michael took out his notepad. Nick watched carefully as Alan prepared Sharon to be hypnotized.
Alan had Sharon recall the night that Heather died and asked what she was feeling. Sharon said she wanted Daniel to suffer and was going to his house to poison him. Through flashbacks, Sharon narrated how she picked the lock, went to the bar, and poured the poison into the whiskey bottle. She said she knew it was wrong, so she poured out the whiskey. She saw she’d broken a glass and wanted to make it look like no one had been there, so she cleaned up the glass. “I was headed out the door, but when I opened it, Heather was there,” Sharon remembered that she didn’t know how to explain why she was there, so she lied.
Sharon told how Heather knew Sharon was lying about wanting to see Daniel and kept pushing her for the truth. Sharon said she was scared and desperate to leave. Michael asked Alan to get Sharon to explain where they were positioned physically. Sharon recalled pushing Heather, and she fell to the floor. After, the room was spinning, and Sharon couldn’t focus. Sharon remembered Heather waking up and getting up and saying something to her. “You are out of your mind!” Sharon recalled Heather telling her. Michael and Nick looked shocked.
“That’s what Heather said to me!” Sharon explained. Alan confirmed that Heather was fully conscious and leaning against the back of the couch. Heather scrambled to her feet and told Sharon to stay away from her. Sharon stumbled in front of the couch. As Alan could see Sharon breathing heavily as she relived the moment, he told her they would pause and bring her out of it. “I remember!” Sharon yelled.
Sharon was very distressed, and Nick wanted it to stop. Alan told him it was okay and asked Sharon to breathe deeply and exhale. Sharon continued recounting what she was remembering. “I pushed her down, but she got back up,” she said. Sharon told her how Heather had moved away from her and looked scared. “I couldn’t move. My legs got really warm and very weak. I felt dizzy, and I think I fell back onto the couch,” Sharon said. Alan confirmed that Heather was standing up and Sharon was lying on the couch.
Sharon remembered someone’s gloved hand grabbing her shoulder. “Oh my god, that’s when I heard a noise. Heather screamed and fell to the floor. She could hear Heather’s screams saying, ‘No, no, no!” over and over as Sharon remembered being collapsed on the couch. Alan asked what she could hear, but her memory faded to black.
Alan talked Sharon through some breathing exercises and brought her back out of the hypnosis. Nick told her she did great and asked how she felt. “I’m not sure,” Sharon replied. “You remembered everything,” he told her. Sharon didn’t think it made sense. “Heather fell after I was on the sofa. Did she trip or fall?” Sharon wondered. They watched her as the realization hit her. “I didn’t do it, Nick. I didn’t kill her,” Sharon said. Nick, Alan, and Michael all looked at each other, relieved and smiling.
