Adam joined Chelsea and Connor on the Crimson Lights patio and said he’d gotten there as soon as he could. Chelsea started to explain, but Connor cut her off and insisted he was the one to tell his father. Connor shared that he hadn’t been able to sleep much the past few nights because of the light switch in his room at his mom’s place. Chelsea mentioned that it was a two-way switch, and Connor explained that he liked the one that lit his room to be up during the day and down at night. Connor revealed that he’d been getting up to check it every 15 minutes.
Adam wished Connor had told him so Adam could have had someone take out the switch, but he quickly apologized for making it about himself. Connor assured his parents that he hadn’t thought about hurting himself. Adam breathed a sigh of relief, and Chelsea informed him that she and Connor had talked about how the boy needed to talk to them, so they knew how to help him. Connor confided that he hadn’t wanted to say anything because his parents had their own issues, but Chelsea and Adam stressed that they’d always put their son first. Adam insisted that they deal with any problems together as a family.
Adam asked if Connor was using the tools he’d learned to manage his OCD. Connor reported that he’d eventually stopped checking the switch and gone to sleep, and he planned to see his doctor that day to see if his medication needed adjusting. Adam acknowledged that Connor would have to deal with the condition for the rest of his life, but he was confident his son had it under control. Chelsea agreed, but she added that Connor didn’t have to go through it alone. Adam inquired whether something had triggered the episode. Connor was reluctant to tell his parents because he knew they weren’t going to like it.
Adam and Chelsea encouraged Connor to be honest. Connor admitted that he was anxious about his dad moving, but Adam thought Connor had been excited to spend more time at the ranch. Connor fretted that he’d have a new bedroom, and he was used to one with a two-way light switch. Adam offered to make sure Connor liked the switch in his new room. Chelsea soothed that it was normal to feel uncomfortable in a new space, but they’d make sure Connor was safe.

Connor referred to how big the house was compared to the apartments he’d usually lived in, and he envisioned feeling isolated in the country after always having people on the other side of the walls. Adam and Chelsea reminded Connor that there were plenty of family members, staff, and security on the Newman compound. Adam offered to cancel the move if it would make Connor feel safe and happy to keep things the way they were. Connor revealed that part of the reason he hadn’t said anything was because he thought he needed to do it – even if it was hard.
Connor added that exposure therapy had taught him to face things that scared him or the OCD would win. Chelsea reasoned that there was nothing wrong with making things easier on himself. Connor compared it to a hockey game in the third period when his legs felt like jelly, but he pushed through and got stronger. Adam and Chelsea pledged to support whatever decision Connor made. Connor hesitantly said there was something that would make moving to the ranch easier – if Chelsea moved there, too.
Connor declared that he wasn’t a little kid thinking about ways to get his parents back together, but it was a big house, and his mom would have her own room. He anticipated that if his OCD flared up, she would be nearby, and that would help him. Chelsea struggled to respond, and Adam told Connor that he and Chelsea had to discuss it before they made any decisions. Connor apologized for not saying anything earlier about what had been bothering him, and he headed upstairs to see if Johnny was online. Chelsea thanked Adam for stepping in, but he thought what Connor had requested made a lot of sense.
Chelsea cautioned Adam against using their son’s anxiety to pressure her into moving in with him. Adam admitted that he could be selfish, but he swore he was committed to putting Connor’s needs above his own, and he wasn’t suggesting they get back together as a couple. Adam continued that he was thinking practically, and Connor had made a good point about it being a huge house where they might not see one another for days. He pictured her having plenty of her own space and even taking a second room to turn into a design studio.
Adam promised to respect boundaries, but Chelsea grumbled that they wouldn’t be in that position if either of them knew how to do that. Adam resolved to make the decision all about Connor, who was crammed with Chelsea in the tiny apartment upstairs. Adam considered the most important thing to be what Connor wanted, and they needed to listen if they wanted him to tell them things. Adam recalled that they’d done everything they could and given up a lot to help their son, and he thought they should at least consider living under one roof if it would help Connor heal.
Chelsea noted that it had been a long time since she and Adam had lived together. Adam reminded her that it hadn’t all been bad. Chelsea told him she wasn’t ready to commit, but she agreed to think about it. Adam was confident that she’d do what was best for their son because she always did, but he would respect whatever choice she made. Chelsea warned that if she agreed to the arrangement for Connor’s sake, she didn’t want Adam to think it was an opportunity for the two of them to get back together. Adam confirmed he understood.
At Society, Kyle thanked Claire for meeting him, and she chirped that her answer would always be yes when he asked to spend time together. Kyle recounted that he’d told his parents that things had been getting more serious between him and Claire, and Jack and Diane had advised him to tell Harrison about it sooner rather than later. Kyle wondered how Claire felt about it, but she thought his feelings were more important.
Kyle noted that Harrison was happy all the time, and he hesitated to take the chance of upsetting his son, but he also wanted the boy to be happy about it. Kyle insisted that he wanted to spend every possible second with Claire without having to pretend they were just friends around Harrison. Claire suspected that Harrison already knew, but there was only one way to find out – and there was no time like the present. They kissed.
At the Abbott mansion, Summer teased Harrison for almost knocking her over with such a big hug. He voiced surprise to see her, and she replied that she’d missed him, so she’d decided to leave work early to hang out together. She suggested they go out for ice cream or hot chocolate, but he opted to indulge in Mrs. Martinez’s frozen hot chocolate while he and Summer read a book. Summer looked forward to it being just the two of them that night. A short time later, Summer and Harrison cuddled on the couch and happily took turns reading from a book.
Kyle and Claire entered the mansion, and Harrison ran over to hug them. Claire remarked that it was a big hug, and Harrison exclaimed that it was just as big as the one he’d given his mom. Summer explained that she’d left work early to spend time with her “little man.” Kyle indicated that he and Claire were there to talk to Harrison, and Summer wondered if she needed to sit in. Kyle told her it wasn’t necessary, and Harrison asked if he was in trouble. Kyle promised it would be a fun conversation, and Harrison cheered that everything with Claire was fun. Summer glowered.
Summer requested one last hug from Harrison, and she departed. Kyle and Claire led Harrison to the dining room, and Kyle noted that both he and Harrison liked spending time with Claire. Claire enthused that she liked spending time with them, too. Kyle said he and Claire had gotten pretty close. “I know,” Harrison replied. Claire asked how the boy felt about it. Harrison was happy, but he didn’t think his mom was because she always acted funny when Kyle and Claire were together.
Claire gently explained that sometimes it was hard for people to see someone they’d been involved with moving on with someone new. “Are you two getting married?” Harrison squealed. Kyle clarified that he and Claire weren’t at that stage, but they liked spending time together, and sometimes Claire might spend the night if it got too late for her to go home. “Like she did on New Year’s,” Harrison innocently recalled, leaving them stunned.
Harrison remarked that it had sounded like Kyle and Claire had been having a lot of fun in his dad’s room, and he asked if it had been a sleepover. Embarrassed, Claire confirmed it had been, and she said she might sleep over again if it was okay with Harrison. The boy asked if they could have breakfast together before he went to school. The trio looked forward to making pancakes.
Back in the living room, Claire guided Harrison through sounding out the name of a dinosaur. Harrison called her the best teacher, but Claire bet his mom was a good teacher, too. Harrison boasted that his mom was the best at everything. Kyle swore that his mom would always love him and be there for him.
Later, Claire thought it was cute that Harrison had asked both her and Kyle to tuck him in, and she considered it his way of giving them his blessing. She could tell Kyle was relieved, and Kyle said his son meant the world to him. Claire replied that Harrison was lucky to have him, and Kyle cooed that both he and Harrison were lucky to have her. They kissed, and Claire anticipated it would be some time before they got Summer’s blessing. Claire promised no one would take Summer’s place in Harrison’s life. Kyle contended that Summer was the one with the issue, so she’d have to deal with it, but it was time for all of them to move on.
Summer met Chance at Society, and he was glad to have a meal with her for the first time since they’d decided to take a break. He mentioned that he’d ordered all her favorites and was wearing the shirt she’d gotten him for his birthday. She observed that it looked nice on him, and he asked if she was okay because it seemed like she wasn’t completely there. Summer admitted she wasn’t. Chance hoped she wasn’t already regretting having dinner with him.
Summer swore she was fine, and she was glad she was there. Chance sensed something was bothering her, but she didn’t want to spoil the first date they’d had in a while. He insisted that he liked taking care of her, and he’d love to listen if she had something on her mind. Summer changed the topic to his work, but Chance hesitated to burden her. He inquired about Harrison, and they laughed at the awkwardness of their small talk. Chance proposed that instead of avoiding it, they both just said what was on their minds. Summer chugged her drink.
Chance invited Summer to share first, but she declined. He broached the topic of Sharon’s disappearance, but he conceded that it might be tough to talk about. Summer assured him she’d set aside their differences over Daniel’s arrest. Chance opined that something about the situation with Sharon wasn’t sitting right, but he was trying to hold out hope she was alive and would be found. Chance pointed out that it was what was distracting him, and he pushed to know what was on Summer’s mind.
Summer thought her problems were petty in comparison, but she was over Claire pushing herself into Kyle and Harrison’s lives. She shared that the couple had just kicked her out of the house to have a private conversation with her son, and she assumed they intended to tell Harrison they were together. Chance observed that Summer seemed jealous. Summer asserted that she didn’t care who Kyle dated, but she didn’t like how Claire had positioned herself in Harrison’s life.
Chance guessed that Summer thought Claire was angling to take Summer’s place. Summer bemoaned that it was already hard not living with her son, and she anticipated it wouldn’t be long before Kyle and Claire were living together. Chance pointed out that people moved on after getting a divorce, but Summer stressed that she was Harrison’s mom. Chance swore that she always would be, and he promised she wouldn’t lose Harrison to Claire or anyone else because the kid adored Summer.
Audra and Nate lugged their suitcases into his apartment after returning from Los Angeles. She commented that it had been a bumpy ride, and he asked if she meant the flight or the car from the airport. She groused about changing planes in Chicago in the dead of winter but imagined that wasn’t the connection he was thinking about. Nate bemoaned that he’d hated leaving L.A. with things unresolved with Damian. Audra applauded Nate for putting himself out there, and she figured it was up to Damian to decide he wanted to get to know Nate better. “Or forget he ever met me,” Nate muttered.
Nate offered Audra a soft drink with electrolytes to avoid jetlag, but she preferred a cocktail. He recognized that she thought he should have told Damian they were brothers instead of pretending to be complete strangers. Audra reasoned that if Damian didn’t accept the job offer, Nate could counter with the whole truth. Nate recognized that it would have been a lot to dump Amy’s illness and Damian’s true parentage on his new brother all at once, but it might be worse for Damian to find out after he started to trust Nate. “And maybe for you,” Audra sympathized, citing how much Nate wanted to connect with Damian. Nate intended to give it a couple of days to hear from Damian, and if he didn’t, he’d consider telling Damian the truth.
Audra planned to take her suitcase to her place the next day, and Nate remarked that he wasn’t the only one with heavy baggage. She chalked it up to her retail therapy with Amy. Audra thought the shopping had helped Amy, and Nate observed that Amy liked her. Audra said the feeling was mutual, and it had broken her heart when Amy needed to keep sitting down from exhaustion.
Audra asked if Nate was sure there was nothing else he could do to help Amy. Nate explained that he hadn’t seen Amy’s medical records, and she hadn’t been forthcoming about her condition. Nate added that the biggest reason he’d reached out to Damian was for Amy to make peace with her son. Audra lamented that Damian had no idea he would lose his mother soon.
Audra alluded to something else that was good for jetlag, and she propped her feet up on Nate’s lap. He guessed she meant a foot rub, and he obliged. She asked if anyone had ever told him he had the best bedside manner, and he jokingly inquired whether anyone had ever told her she had stinky feet. She swore she wouldn’t be offended if he kept rubbing, and he considered it a show of his appreciation for her going to L.A. with him.
Nate imagined he shouldn’t be surprised Audra was invested in his family drama after seeing her shed a tear at their dinner with Lily, Devon, and Abby. Audra asserted that getting emotional had been a one-time thing, but Nate thought he’d seen her getting misty-eyed with Amy, too. Audra conceded that she was a sucker for people who tried to fix familial relationships, and she wanted that for Nate. He was touched, and she purred that she was ready to be touched somewhere above her ankles. They began kissing passionately on the couch and eventually proceeded upstairs, where they made love.
Later, a shirtless Nate returned downstairs to pour some drinks. He checked his phone and saw multiple messages from Damian. Nate mused that he’d made an impression, after all. Nate rejoined Audra in the bedroom, handed her a drink, and proclaimed that there was reason to celebrate because he’d heard from Damian, who was headed to Genoa City to see what Winters was all about. Audra gushed that she was happy for both of them.
Audra praised Nate for winning Damian over, just like Nate had done with her. They started to have sex again, but Nate’s phone continued to chime with message notifications. Nate figured he’d waited his entire life to talk to his brother, and he could wait longer. Audra insisted that he check the messages. Nate’s expression darkened when he looked at his phone.
Nate reported that the latest messages were from Denise, who’d done more digging and learned the same parent company owned both Dangler Properties and Monte Cristo Investments. He gave Audra one guess as to who the silent owner was, and she assumed it was Victor. Nate informed her that the owner was Damian.
