This week on The Young and the Restless, Phyllis told Amanda about her hope of running Chancellor once Dumas stole the company from Victor and Nikki. Amanda initially shot down Phyllis’ pleas to set up a meeting with Dumas, but she eventually agreed to help after Phyllis envisioned the two of them running Chancellor together. Phyllis prepared to head to D.C. to ambush Dumas with her pitch. Daniel warned Phyllis to keep him out of her plans. Billy assuaged Sally’s fears about Phyllis’ threats. Audra proposed that she and Kyle play up their rivalry in the media to promote both their companies. Claire seemed unnerved when Holden fished for information about Kyle and Audra’s past. Holden suspected that Audra was setting Kyle up to fail. Diane was relieved when Traci and Ashley expressed approval of her remodel of the Abbott mansion. Traci announced her decision to turn her ordeal with Martin into a novel. Ashley admitted she still wasn’t over the trauma Martin had inflicted, and she opted to return to Paris for intensive therapy. Victor chided Adam for hesitating to trash Billy in the press. Chelsea considered quitting on her first day at Newman Media, but Adam suggested they create a new scandal to distract Victor. Nick and Sharon made plans to have dinner as friends. Damian revealed that he hadn’t yet quit his job because Dumas hadn’t returned his calls. Lily told Damian about her past romantic entanglements. Michael and Lauren bickered as he struggled with the aftermath of his decision to quit working for Victor. Lauren proposed that she and Michael take a European trip to distance themselves from Victor. Claire curtailed Pietro’s outrageous ideas for Nikki’s birthday bash, and they worked together to plan a sophisticated event. Victor showered Nikki with gifts over the days leading up to her birthday. Victor relented to Nikki’s request that he not start a battle with Abbotts until after her party. Kyle steeled himself to meet Claire’s expectation that he win Victor over by making an elaborate gesture at the party. Guests gathered for Nikki’s birthday celebration, where Victoria kicked things off with a touching toast to her mother. Various Genoa City residents received mysterious invitations to Dumas’ home in France.
