At Crimson Lights, Nick told Sharon that Victor had textbook surgery and was going to be okay. Sharon said that for the longest time, she was just dealing with the drugs and trying to escape and had no idea who had kidnapped her. She couldn’t imagine being face to face with Ian with a gun, wanting to kill all of them.

Nick said that Ian was the one in the morgue. Sharon credited Victor for being willing to give his life to save his family. Nick said that, ultimately, Ian and Jordan did this to themselves. Sharon said that Mariah and Claire went through hell as kids and then again as adults. Nick agreed that a lot of healing was needed but at least Ian and Jordan died knowing they didn’t succeed. He thought healing would be easier with those two around.

Michael came into Crimson Lights and told Nick and Sharon that he had met with the DA and had news about all of Sharon’s charges. Everything had been dismissed and she was free and clear of everything. Daniel came into the coffee shop and sat down with them so they could tell him everything. Daniel had questions and wondered how he would tell Paul that Ian Ward was behind Heather’s murder. Sharon agreed that none of them deserved what happened. She said that she wasn’t guilty of that crime, but she did frame Daniel and was part of Ian’s cause. She knew that he may never forgive her.

Daniel angrily recounted how Sharon dumped Heather’s body, framed him, and lied continually. Nick explained that Sharon had a hallucinogen in her system for months. Michael agreed that Sharon’s behavior went exactly along with that, including her obsession with Cassie’s death. “Heather deserves justice,” Nick told him and said that he hoped that Ian and Jordan’s guilt and deaths could help him heal. Daniel was far from that, he said.

Nick needed to go to the hospital and told Daniel about Victor and Ian. Daniel said he wouldn’t freak out on Sharon but was full of anger. Sharon said she wouldn’t put her pain against Daniel’s but would just hope that one day he would forgive her.

Daniel said that everything he thought was now gone. He processed out loud how someone wanted to kill Heather because of Sharon, and this whole time, she had no idea even though she was there. Sharon said she wished a lot of things about that night never happened, including going to his apartment that night. Daniel said he needed more time and left.

Michael talked to Sharon and told her that Ian had put her through hell, and it wasn’t her fault. He told her that the people who knew her knew this day would come. Sharon was grateful for his support and faith in her, despite how it affected his friendship with Phyllis. He asked her to give herself some time to heal and process what Ian had put her through. Sharon said she would get past it someday, but she was worried about Daniel.

Sharon thought it was cruel and unfair for what Daniel was going through. There would be no trial, and he wouldn’t have a sense of control or get closure. “With a senseless loss like this, it never leaves you. Even when you think the pain has faded, it can come back and break your heart all over again in an instant,” Sharon explained. She didn’t wish that kind of pain on anyone.

In the park, Daniel sat on a park bench and talked to Heather. Daniel said he was always the messy one, and Heather was stable. He cried that when it did work out for them, it was magic, but now it didn’t feel like any of that magic or logic was left. He knew he had to reassure Lucy she had a long and happy life ahead of her. He just didn’t know if he could do life without her. He felt like the nightmare was never going to end.

Chelsea came to the ranch house with Adam and asked if he still wanted to go ahead with her moving in, as Victor had just been shot. She promised he wasn’t going to change her mind, but Adam didn’t need to put anything off, he wanted her and Connor there when Victor came home from the hospital.

Adam told Chelsea she could redecorate if she wanted, but she said she’d just use a little sage to cleanse the place of any less-than-stellar vibes. Adam quipped that much sage would burn the place down. Adam noted that the stained glass above the window had an N in it for Newman. He never thought that the place would ever be his. Chelsea thought he would have inherited it but Adam thought he would be passed over by Victoria or Abby. “Well, look at you now. In case no one has said it to you yet, ‘welcome home,’” Chelsea told him.

Adam told Chelsea it was her home, too, and he didn’t want her to feel like a guest. She didn’t want a suite, just a room near Connor’s. Chelsea could tell Adam was worried about Victor. Adam told her that he saw Victor take a bullet for Nikki and he would be okay, but one day, he could be gone, and he wasn’t ready for that. He said he was proud of his dad and would do the same for Chelsea.

Chelsea agreed that Victor’s love for his family was profound. Nick walked in and wanted to pick some things up for Victor. Nick was surprised to find out that Chelsea was moving in, but she was quick to clarify that it was a platonic agreement. When Adam left the room to take a phone call, Nick warned Chelsea that he had some friendly concerns about her living arrangements. Nick told her that what Adam wanted might not be the best for her. She assured Nick that it wasn’t an issue, as she had been clear. “He knows what he wants, and now he thinks it’s within reach,” Nick pointed out.

Chelsea said she wasn’t a pushover, but Nick said everyone had their weaknesses. Nick said he was always happy to help Chelsea and, if Adam ever crossed a line, to let him know. Adam returned, and Nick offered to give him a lift to the hospital. Chelsea thought it would mean a lot to Victor if his sons walked into his hospital room together.

In the car, Nick advised Adam not to push Chelsea into a relationship she didn’t want, but Adam told him to back off. Adam asked Nick if he was worried that they almost lost Victor and what would have happened if they lost him. Nick said he didn’t want to think about it but wondered why Adam asked. Adam couldn’t erase what happened from his brain. Nick told him Victor had come back from worse. Adam was irritated that Nick would dwell on what-ifs because their dad wouldn’t be around forever, and he was the glue that held the family together. Nick realized Adam was worried he’d be cut out if Victor wasn’t around. Nick said nothing would change if Victor weren’t around, that Adam was treated how he treated them, not by Victor’s orders.

Victoria returned from the hospital to the tack house and told Claire that Victor would be okay. Claire was still in awe of Victor taking the bullet for Nikki and said that was how much he loved her. Victoria told her that they were all safe now. Kyle interrupted when he knocked on the door. Claire pulled Kyle inside and thanked him for coming. “Last night was really horrible,” she told him. Kyle hugged her.

Kyle asked Claire what happened. Victoria invited them to sit down and asked Kyle to get Claire to eat something. Victoria went upstairs to shower and nap before going back to the hospital. She told Kyle that Claire would explain. Kyle and Claire sat down, and she told him all about Jordan and Ian teaming up, Victor taking Nikki’s bullet, how Jordan escaped, and how she died. Kyle comforted Claire that Jordan was gone. He asked about the poison that “Jordan brought” and wondered if Jordan wanted her to die.

Claire tried to explain Jordan’s hatred for the Newmans. She confessed how she lied to Jordan about her feelings about her life with the Newmans. Kyle felt bad that she felt like the responsibility to protect the family was on her shoulders, but noted that she sounded like Victor. Kyle thought Claire was incredible for everything she’d been through, including watching someone die. Kyle asked how he could help, and Claire told him to just hold her.

Kyle made Claire some tea. She thanked him for not running away, knowing that her family could be a lot. Kyle reminded her that Jordan wasn’t her family, but there was a lot of love between the Newmans, and he respected that — and her. He asked her if there was something she had left out of the story and said it was okay to tell him. Claire said she went through it with her mother and grandmother, and they agreed to let the rest of it be. Kyle honored that but said if she changed her mind, he would listen. Claire was just glad Jordan could never hurt anyone again.
