Today on The Young and the Restless
Jack was pleased to find Kyle in the dining room, who was working from home. He told his dad that he was very happy to be back at Jabot. He had done some introspection about how he’d left and gone to Glissade. Kyle had realized he had come very close to blowing up his life.

Jack told Kyle that he had turned his life around. “I’m sitting at the table with my son and co-CEO, so to my thinking, life is pretty good,” Jack smiled. He asked Kyle what he was working on and offered to help him. Kyle handed a folder to his dad to read. “This is a proposal to the sunscreen moisturizer that we thought Glissade had stolen out from under us,” Jack said. “You mean the product that I stole from you,” Kyle corrected.
Jack didn’t think Kyle would ever admit to stealing the formula. Kyle apologized for stealing it, violating his trust and Diane’s privacy. Jack forgave him and understood how hurt Kyle was at the time. They talked about how Victor manipulated him to use him against his own family. Kyle wondered if Jack actually considered legal action against him. “Your father didn’t. But I did,” Diane said as she walked into the dining room.
Kyle was taken aback that his mom considered a lawsuit. Diane said it was a way to bring him back, not hurt him. “I guess I can’t fault you for that,” Kyle relented. Diane added that she and Jack had opposing views on suing him, they used that conflict to help with their act. Kyle snapped that they told him the fighting was all pretend but now they were admitting there was truth to it. Jack told him he was fully prepared to sue him and not to blame Diane for all of it. Diane said that she saw it as a way to make Kyle responsible for his actions. “You broke the law, Kyle. You stole IP from Jabot,” she explained. Kyle backed down.
Kyle told Diane that he had just admitted to Jack what he had done and apologized to him for it. Kyle apologized to Diane as well. She was surprised but thanked him. Jack suggested that they put it behind them. “Kyle has taken steps to put the product back where it belongs,” Jack added. Kyle agreed it was in the process. Jack said it could all be water under the bridge now. Diane and Kyle agreed they should focus on the future of Jabot together.
Diane told Kyle she was aware things had progressed with Claire and that she had spent the night there. Kyle said Harrison didn’t know about their relationship. Diane suggested that if Claire was going to stay there on a regular basis, Harrison should know what was going on between them. They chatted about it, and Kyle agreed he would talk to Harrison.
Jack said he looked forward to many more meals and work meetings together at the table. Diane asked Kyle if he intended to stay. Kyle confirmed he and Harrison were not moving out, and Jack and Diane were very pleased. After Kyle left, Diane asked Jack what he thought about Claire. Diane thought Claire seemed kind and generous, but she hoped they could handle any challenges from Victor. Jack said they wouldn’t let Victor interfere with them ever again. Jack said that they had their son back, Ashley was in a good place, and Traci had a wonderful man in her life. “And I’ve got you,” Jack added. Diane said they had each other.
At Chancellor Industries, Nikki was dictating a to-do list (including having “Abbott” stripped from the company name) to Claire but realized she had already given the assignments to Claire earlier. Nikki apologized for being out of sorts and had Ian on her mind. She told Claire that aside from her aunt Jordan, no one had tormented her like that man.
Nikki and Claire sat down as Nikki told her granddaughter all about Ian and how he manipulated people into following him in a cult. She warned Claire if she ever crossed Ian’s path, to not engage. Nikki told Claire how she met and followed Ian. They thought Ian and Claire were similar in their tactics.
Nikki elaborated on how Ian returned a couple of times to extort, harass, and destroy them. She noted that he even set the Newman Tower on fire while they were all there. Nikki said Victor would do anything to get Ian out of their lives, just like he had with Jordan. Nikki needed a pick-me-up before her meeting, so she asked Claire to get her a chai latte from Crimson Lights. Claire decided to walk over rather than have it delivered.
At Crimson Lights, Esther called Sharon and left her a message. She said everyone was worried and wanted her to call and let them know she was okay. Jordan, in disguise, walked up to the counter and overheard. “Everything okay?” Jordan asked. Esther said she wasn’t sure, so Jordan asked if there was anything she could do to help. Esther summarized that someone she knew was going through some stuff, and everyone was worried about her well-being. “Does anyone know what actually happened to her?” Jordan asked.
Esther said she was just trying to stay positive. Jordan ordered an oolong tea with agave sweetener, double half-and-half, and a triple-shot American to go. She told Esther she would wait out on the patio. Jordan sat down outside and grimaced while flipping through photos of Claire and Kyle on her phone.
Behind Jordan, Claire came into Crimson Lights and heard her talking with Esther. Jordan looked increasingly upset as she realized that Claire and Nikki were close and working together. Esther told Claire she would be right back to take her order and took Jordan’s drinks out to the patio. Claire heard Esther say Jordan’s order, and she spun around to look. By the time she got to the patio, Jordan was long gone.
At Society, Abby gave Daniel and Danny a table and told them she should post about their dining experience on her social media to attract more customers. Danny laughed and said she should. After Abby walked away, Daniel told his dad he wished he could stay in town longer.
Daniel said he didn’t know what to make of Sharon’s disappearance but noted she’d been acting so erratic that he wasn’t going to jump to conclusions. He said that Chance was increasing security detail on him and Lucy. Danny said he’d feel so much better if he and Lucy joined Danny and Christine on tour. Daniel said Lucy was back in school and wanted her to keep her routine. He also wanted to find the real killer and bring them to justice.
Daniel said he thought about Heather every day, and he wanted him and Lucy to try to adjust to their new normal without her. Daniel told Danny he was an incredible father, and he was proud of him. Danny left to meet Cricket at the airport and hugged Daniel goodbye.
At the bar, Tessa told Abby that the police had found Sharon’s car, but they were trying to be hopeful that she was okay. She noted that Mariah and Faith were wrecked over it. Tessa said she hadn’t had another asthma attack since New Year’s, and she’d never felt anything like that before. She wondered if it was stress-related. Tessa didn’t think that it made any sense that the one man Mariah hated in the world happened to be the one to save her. Abby agreed it was too convenient. “With Ian Ward, you can’t trust anything,” Abby told Tessa. Outside the window, Ian watched them intently.
Ian snuck in and listened as Abby told Tessa what a snake he was. Aside from stealing Mariah from Sharon, his list of crimes was endless, Abby told her. She added that Ian abused Nikki, and he went after Summer as well. Abby told Tessa that she could believe anything Ian said, and he never did anything out of the goodness of his heart. “What happened to you doesn’t make sense,” Abby concluded.
Abby questioned how Ian claimed to come back to town to make amends with Mariah and then just happened to be in the right place at the right time to save her wife’s life. “I get what you’re saying, but how was he going to know that that was going to happen to me and be there at the exact moment I needed him?” Tessa asked. “I don’t know, but I wouldn’t put anything past him,” Abby told her. Tessa couldn’t disregard that Ian had saved her life. Ian walked up smiling and said, “I’m just so glad I was able to save you.”
Ian told Tessa he had kept her in his prayers. Tessa was grateful he had saved her but since finding out his real identity, she doubted his intentions. Ian was sorry that Mariah had turned Tessa against him. Ian admitted he knew who Tessa was, but he meant what he said about her and Mariah being blessed. Tessa told him that Mariah had asked him to stay away from her, and she felt she needed to ask him the same thing. Abby doubled down that it was her restaurant, and after the hell he had put her family through, she wanted him to leave and never come back.
Ian whined that he should be used to having doors slammed in his face in Genoa City. “What else would you expect?” Abby snapped. Ian repeated how he wanted to win back the trust and forgiveness he sought for those he’d done wrong. He insisted he wanted to start a new life. Ian said he would leave but stopped to ask if Tessa had heard anything from Sharon. “I’m afraid not,” she shared. After Ian told them he wanted God to bless them both and keep them safe, he walked out smugly with a smirk on his face. Inside, Abby breathed a sigh of relief he was gone while Tessa looked strained. “I just don’t know what to make of that man,” she said. “Well, for your sake and Mariah’s, you can’t let him get under your skin,” Abby said firmly.
Daniel came over to the bar and noted to Tessa that the new year seemed to be off to a weird start, and she agreed. She asked how he was holding up. Daniel said that he felt a little sorry for himself because everyone he loved seemed to leave him. Daniel said he’d heard about Tessa’s asthma attack and thought it was weird it happened out of nowhere. Tessa thought there was more to it.
As Claire returned to Chancellor, Kyle called her and said he wanted to tell Harrison about their relationship and how much they liked one another. “I want your input on how to bring it up to him. Do you want to meet at Society after work?” Kyle asked. Claire happily agreed to text him when she was done working.
Claire gave Nikki her latte, but she could tell she seemed upset. Claire admitted that there was a woman who had ordered her tea in a very specific way,, and that was how Jordan always took her tea. Nikki thought that must have been unnerving. Claire tried to brush it off and chalked it up to talking about Ian having her on edge. Nikki assured her that Victor would keep Ian away and promised that Claire would never have to face Jordan again.
Jordan returned to the motel room and rambled about how Claire saw her and might have recognized her, and she thought they should move. However, Ian wasn’t there. She thought he’d taken off on her and said to herself that it was time to start working on her side of the plan. Jordan started to cry as she had flashbacks to losing control over Claire and how the last thing she said to her was that she’d chosen the wrong side. “Oh God, Claire. How I’ve missed you,” Jordan sobbed to herself. She got up and angrily looked out the window. “Still not back, Ian? Well, maybe I can no longer trust you to help me,” Jordan muttered. “Maybe it’s time I take matters with Claire into my own hands,” she added.
