It’s Valentine’s Day in Genoa City — and Paris. At Crimson Lights, Sharon came into the coffee shop and saw candles and roses. She called out for Esther, but Nick walked out of the back room instead. He explained that everyone needed a little romance in their life.

Nick poured some champagne and said that he’d sent everyone home. He wanted to show Sharon how in awe of her he was. Nick told Sharon that she was his hero, too. “There’s that look, it gets me every time,” Nick said. He knew that she had confidence in him and trusted him. He added that all the times she’s been knocked down, she always got back up, and he’d always be there for her. “I love you. I always have. I always will,” Nick told Sharon.

Sharon asked how long Nick had felt that way. “Probably as long as you have,” Nick grinned. He told Sharon that the thought of never seeing her again made him realize all the time they’d wasted and he needed her in his life. “Now that’s settled, there’s only one thing to do,” Nick said. He went to the jukebox and turned on a song. Holding out his hand, he led Sharon to dance with him.

Nick asked Sharon what their next move in life should be. Sharon asked if he’d like to move back to the ranch with Christian. “Let’s do it. I love it,” Nick agreed. He felt her heartbeat and told her that as long as their hearts were beating, they would have music to dance to. Then he held her face and kissed her.

Sharon wondered if it was too late for them, as they weren’t teenagers anymore. Nick told her that she made him feel like one. Sharon shared that when she was with Nick, she could just be herself. Nick held her hand and squeezed it as she smiled.

Nick told Sharon how happy he was to have fallen back in love with her again. He thought the best thing they could do was take one step at a time. He asked her to dance again and extended his hand. Sharon stood up to dance, but the music stopped, and Nick wasn’t there. “Nick? Where did you go?” Sharon asked.

Sharon heard Nick calling her and sat up. She had fallen asleep in a Crimson Lights booth doing paperwork and had been dreaming. Nick said he heard her saying his name in her sleep. Nick told her that awake or in dreamland, he is always there for her.

At the ranch, Adam came into the living room and saw roses and candles. He wondered what was going on. Chelsea told him it was all for him. “You were right about us, about not trying to fight this. I can’t pretend anymore,” Chelsea told Adam. She said she was falling for him all over again. Chelsea explained that Adam had respected her boundaries and that showed her that he had changed. She apologized for taking so long to realize her feelings.

Chelsea explained that even as she was setting up the roses and champagne, she still had her doubts. However, when he walked in the door and looked into her eyes, she saw the love that had been there for her all along. “Maybe it took the magic of Valentine’s Day to open back up to you,” she wondered.

Adam told Chelsea she had some scars on her heart and knew he’d put some there. He was glad she’d changed her mind. Chelsea told Adam she hadn’t changed but thought he had. He asked if Chelsea was only doing this because of Connor. She said that what they went through with Connor was hard, but they have been going through it together. “Time after time, you’ve put our son first. And you did it again just now when you asked if I was sure. You asking me if I'm sure makes me sure,” Chelsea added.

Chelsea told Adam that Connor had made them better people and parents, and she could see they’d be good together. Chelsea got Adam to dance with her. In his arms, they both said they had dreamed of this moment. Adam wondered if it was just a dream, but Chelsea said if it was, she didn’t want to wake up. She told Adam they had come a long way from that moment of desperation in Baltimore. Now they were having champagne in their home. “This isn’t about lies we tell ourselves, each other, or other people. This is the truth. This is very real,” Chelsea said as Adam held her.

Chelsea knew it wasn’t easy for Adam, but said he needed to be brave and trust. He admitted that he’d only had her in his arms for a few minutes, and he was already afraid he was going to screw things up. "I guess you're just going to have to love me forever, then," Chelsea soothed. As he leaned in to kiss Chelsea, they heard someone call his name. Adam turned around and saw Sally there.

Sally rushed in and said she knew it was late but she came halfway across the world to tell Adam that she had a dream, and in it, she felt at peace. “I forgave you, Adam. For what you did with Chelsea,” Sally explained. Adam turned around, but Chelsea wasn’t there. Sally apologized for interrupting and said she should go. Adam told her he thought there was something but he guessed he was wrong since Chelsea left.

Sally told Adam she came to give them another chance and wondered if she was too late for them to try again. “What about Billy?” Adam asked. Sally told Adam that she was with Billy in Paris on the most romantic day of the year, and it didn’t feel right. “You are really serious about this,” Adam realized.

Sally told Adam that she had been hurt, but she could see now that he had changed. She understood why he lied because he was scared to lose her. “Is it too late? Did me leaving you leave room for you to fall back in love with Chelsea?” Sally asked.

Adam told Sally that he never stopped loving her and he hated himself for hurting her. “But you’re going to hurt me again,” she cried. Through tears, she said she understood because she’d made it very clear that she was done with him, and there was no coming back from what happened. “My heart finally had to let you go,” Adam told her. “So you have reconnected with Chelsea,” Sally asked. Adam said he had, and he was sorry.

“Adam?” Chelsea called out. Adam woke up on the couch. Chelsea told him he was talking in his sleep, but she couldn’t tell what he was saying. She’d come in with a grocery store bag and told him she’d brought him something. “For Valentine’s Day?” he asked hopefully. “It’s Valentine’s Day?” Chelsea asked. She told him she’d brought him a replacement bag of chips for the ones she’d eaten. “Boundaries, right?” she reminded him as she walked to the kitchen.

In Paris, Billy was happy with the champagne, roses, and candles he had set up in the living room of Ashley’s apartment. There was a knock at the door, but it was Phyllis. “Happy Valentine’s Day,” she grinned. She came in and saw all the chocolates, flowers, and champagne. “Pour moi?” she asked.

Billy was irritated and said that she couldn’t be there. Phyllis told Billy that he shouldn’t be alone on Valentine’s Day. He wanted to discuss their boundaries and asked why she was there. Phyllis told him they could have a meeting as she poured herself some champagne and helped herself to the chocolates. Billy took it away and held the chocolate heart box in his hand. Phyllis laughed at the symbolism of him looking like he was trying to protect his heart.

Phyllis told Billy she was on his side. She told Billy no one should be alone on Valentine’s Day, handed him a glass of champagne, and asked if he wanted to dance. He reluctantly agreed to the drink, and they clinked glasses. Billy said that he appreciated Phyllis’ dedication, but he was thinking about Sally and how she’d feel walking through the door and seeing Phyllis drinking her champagne.

Phyllis knew Billy was also thinking about Chelsea. She said every woman was a distraction except for her. She knew what he wanted and was making it happen with him. “You’ve moved on…with me,” Phyllis teased. Billy smiled and said he wouldn’t exactly put it that way. “You’re a liar,” Phyllis laughed. She told him he was just as excited about working together as she was. “Phyllis, you’re right. I would love to dance. But just one,” Billy told her as he held out his hand, and she took it.

Phyllis and Billy gazed into each other’s eyes as they danced. They sat down to talk after. Phyllis told Billy she knew he still wanted revenge against Victor no matter what he said. “Who am I kidding? The heart wants what the heart wants,” Billy admitted. He asked her to dance again. “Not unless you tell me your intentions,” Phyllis countered. “Not unless you dance with me,” Billy insisted.

They got up to dance and Billy asked Phyllis if she’d still want to work with him if he was still planning on going after Victor. Phyllis said she understood his motives and knew that revenge was an obsession. “I told you from the beginning: You lead, and I will follow you,” Phyllis reminded Billy. “Full disclosure: I do plan on going after Victor and putting him in his place. But not at the expense of Abbott Communications becoming the dominant media company of the 21st century. So…you still in?” Billy asked. “Yes,” Phyllis said emphatically.

Phyllis and Billy finished off the champagne. Billy said he was surprised she’d go along with his revenge plot for Victor. Phyllis said she understood it, and it was a turn-on. As they leaned in to kiss, Phyllis sat straight up in bed. Realizing what she’d just dreamt, she clutched her chest and said, “Where the hell did that come from?”
