At the ranch, Victor met with Michael. He reminded Michael how he and Cole convinced him to release Jordan and if they hadn’t, she never would have endangered the family again. Michael stood firm that as his lawyer, he did the right thing. Victor noted that Michael could have been killed by Ian, and yet he stayed. Michael assured Victor he would never abandon him in a time of need. Victor was glad to hear it as he wanted to move on to his next plan to take down Jack “via Jabot.”
Michael told Victor that the three spies he had recruited were ready to go and awaiting his orders. “Glissade was the perfect Trojan horse to get them into Jabot without raising suspicion,” Michael added. He tried to dissuade Victor from his plan, but Victor didn’t want to hear it. He told Michael if he didn’t like the plan, to show himself out. Michael wondered if the ordeal he put the Abbott’s through already was enough but Victor growled in disagreement.
Victor bellowed that he would decide when it was enough punishment for the Abbotts and ranted about Jack and Nikki’s night of debauchery in a hotel room again. He said he needed to know Jabot’s future plans and then he would devise a strategy. Claire interrupted so Michael left. Once alone, Victor said he would keep his word about going to dinner, but didn’t promise not to go easy on Kyle once there.
At the jazz club, Jack and Diane had a martini, but Jack was nervous about her renovations. Diane assured Jack to relax and trust her. Diane tried to distract Jack with work talk, but he couldn’t focus. He was genuinely concerned about the changes she was making at home. Diane got him to dance instead.

Jack told Diane that he did like her ideas for the Jabot Classics division. They told each other how much they trusted and supported one another, and agreed the new division was a good fit for Diane. The subject of Victor came up and Jack noted that he wasn’t going to worry about what his next move would be. He doubted that Victor’s vengeance had ended, but Kyle and Claire could handle it if he tried to interfere in their relationship.
Jack and Diane went up to their room and distracted themselves in bed. After, Diane told Jack there was one major change she wanted to make to the house: change the front door to a revolving one. She teased him and then told him she was kidding.
Kyle saw Summer at Society, and they talked about Harrison and the night they helped him with his school project. Kyle said he was there to meet Claire, Nikki, and Victor for dinner. “Sounds like a big deal,” Summer noted. Kyle didn’t think that they should care about Victor’s approval. Summer noted that Victor approved of them, and she is also his granddaughter. Kyle said it didn’t matter what Victor thought because, at the end of the day, it wouldn’t change anything between him and Claire. Summer looked disappointed and held that expression as Kyle walked away and Daniel walked in. He asked if everything was okay.
Summer told Daniel about Kyle and Claire’s dinner plans and thought it was an effort in futility to get Victor to approve of their relationship. Daniel heard the way she talked and could tell that it bothered her that Kyle and Claire were together. Summer denied being jealous of them and claimed to just feel bad for Victor interfering. She thought Kyle was asking for more trouble if he continued on a path with Claire. Daniel warned Summer she was giving Phyllis vibes, which got Summer’s attention. Daniel hoped the warning kept her in check.
Speaking of Phyllis, Daniel noted that he’d been trying to reach their mom but she wasn’t responding. Summer hadn’t heard from her, either. Daniel shared that he’d accepted Billy’s job offer. Summer was surprised and concerned. Daniel assured her it was a good deal, and he was excited about his new ideas. He didn’t remember the last time he felt motivated about the future.
Summer could see that some of Daniel’s inner turmoil was starting to dissipate. He said that Lucy was moving forward as well. He thought maybe things were finally falling into place for them. Summer was concerned about him working with Phyllis, but he said they actually worked well together. Summer’s expression changed when she saw Claire and Victor arrive.
Summer watched Victor, Claire, and Kyle all greet one another and she commented disparagingly. Daniel asked her why she cared so much if she wasn’t jealous. Summer insisted it was a parental issue, worried that anything that happened would affect her son. She knew that Victor would interfere in their relationship, and it would inevitably affect Harrison, too. She didn’t want him worrying about anything. Daniel asked if she was exaggerating to justify her feelings for Kyle.
Daniel agreed that Victor would make their lives miserable if Kyle and Claire continued to see one another, but thought it was unlikely that Kyle would let it affect Harrison. He also didn’t think that Kyle would break up with Claire just because Victor disapproved.
Across the restaurant, Victor immediately made things clear to Kyle and Claire. He said he would never approve of their relationship because of his contempt for Kyle’s family.
Claire told Victor that his views were unfair. Kyle agreed that he didn’t show him his best side but reminded him how Victor used him. “But I can separate all of that from my relationship with Claire,” Kyle said. He added that he cared very deeply for her and he would never hold what Victor did against Claire. He said they planned to proceed with their relationship, and asked if there was anything he could do to convince him to change his mind. Victor glowered there was nothing that would help Kyle achieve that goal.
