Claire walked into Crimson Lights and greeted Kyle with a kiss. Esther appeared and commented on young love, noting how it warmed her heart. The ex-maid wanted to know if they had used the "L" word yet. "Just say it," Esther suggested.
Claire and Kyle noted that Esther has no filter. Kyle asked what Claire's coffee was. She replied that it was a tiramisu latte with extra whipped cream and cocoa butter on top. He asked to try it. Kyle broke his promise and licked off more whipped cream than he said he would.
Kyle noted that Claire was moving up in her job. He offered to take her to dinner. She begged off, but he threw in candles and wine, so Claire changed her mind. She gave him the rest of her latte to save room for dinner and wiped off the whipped cream from Kyle's face. Then, she took the latte back. She wanted to know why Kyle was in such a good mood.
Kyle shared that working with his dad means more to him than he thought it would. He couldn't believe that Jack not only took him back but that his mother sacrificed for him, too. An optimistic Kyle said he was positive about the future for his family and his relationship with Claire — despite Victor. "We'll see about that," Victor said as he walked in through the back way of Crimson Lights.
Claire gave her grandfather a kiss and a hug. Kyle said that he and Claire were having a dinner date later. They'd be sticking to Society — not the establishment Victor suggested.
Victor wished Kyle good luck with his relationship with Jack. Kyle added it was never stronger, just like his relationship with Claire. Kyle said that Victor would have to deal with that. Victor leaned in and said he'd have to think about that.
Victor thanked Esther for his coffee and then ran into Audra on his way out. Victor asked Audra what her job prospects were. She said she had some leads. Victor suggested that they sit down and discuss options over a drink.
At Society, Claire said that she wants Victor to support them. She can't pretend that she doesn't care. Kyle said he understood, given how much Jack's approval meant to him. He added he'd never judge Claire or her feelings. Claire said she knew a way where all this could be less of an issue. Claire requested that Kyle not rub their relationship in Victor's face.
Kyle conceded that he was rubbing his and Claire's relationship in Victor's face a little bit. Claire was hopeful that Victor would someday accept them as a couple.
At the Genoa City Athletic Club, Diane pressed Traci, asking her if everything was okay with her and Alan. She said she didn't mean to come off nosy or pushy. "You clearly don't want to tell me, and if I've overstepped, I'm sorry," Diane supportively shared.
Traci assured Diane that everything was fine. She didn't want to burden her with her problems. Diane gently pushed back as Traci acknowledged there were problems. Traci told her sister-in-law that she saw the efforts she was making. "Maybe it'll never be enough?" Diane shrugged. Traci pointed out that Diane brought Kyle back to the family. She also pointed out that Jack let Diane redo the somewhat "musty" Abbott mansion. Diane hopes to be accepted as an Abbott.u
Just then, Jack approached their table. He got Diane's messages that she dropped by the Genoa City Athletic Club to pick up her missing tablet. He wanted to know what Traci and Diane were doing there together.
Traci said to Jack that she was just thanking Diane for her efforts with the mansion. Diane suggested taking one car with Jack, but he says he needs to stay and talk with Traci. "Oh," a knowing Diane deadpanned, suspecting something was truly going on with Traci.
Jack assured Traci she could trust Diane with her suspicions. Traci said it wasn't about trust but Alan's potential danger. She didn't want to put a target on Diane's back or anyone else's. Jack pointed out that Traci was willing to make herself one. Traci said she had her big brother to protect her. Jack wondered why Alan (or whoever he is, Jack noted) would want to harm Sharon or Phyllis.
Jack agreed with Traci to keep suspicions about Alan to themselves. He revealed that it's not just Diane picking up on things; Kyle is suspicious, too. Jack said that they could hope that they were wrong about Alan. But he said he's not going to risk Traci's safety. Jack suggested bringing other loved ones in on their thoughts on Alan for their safety.
Traci blamed herself for letting Alan into their lives. Jack said they have to focus on finding out the truth. "Am I in denial?" Traci asked. "No," Jack responded. "You're in love."
Traci apologized that she did hear from Alan. "He was my Alan," a tearful Traci let Jack know. He was back to being the man she fell in love with. Jack hugged his sister, who was emotionally wrought over this dilemma. "My mind is a jumble," Traci said. Jack informed her that she'd get through this and that it would all turn out for the best. They hugged.
Nate filled Audra in on Amy's health over a glass of wine at his apartment. He shared with Audrea that Damian was well aware of Nate, Lily, and Devon before they reached out to him. Nate said that Victor, Audra's former boss, was responsible for Lily getting the info.
Audra believed that Victor was working an angle. Nate said that Victor was maybe looking to make amends. "Victor Newman making amends is crazy," Audra said, adding that Lily was brave to see Victor. Audra wondered if Lily was having her investigated next. She asked Nate who he believed — his brother or Victor. Nate suspected that maybe Victor was given false information. Audra floated another possibility: Damian is the one lying, and he came to town with an agenda.
Audra suggested that Damian is a liar. Nate said that Amy helped him see that Damian could be telling the truth. "Amy's belief in her son is part of the reason," Nate said, adding that he saw Damian step up for his mom.
Audra asked Nate to be careful. She said she actually does want Damian to be who Nate wanted him to be. Taking her in his arms, Nate said he'd be careful. He said he was as suspicious about Victor as Audra was.
Nate and Audra's kissing was interrupted by Devon and Lily. "Bad time?" Lily asked. Nate said Amy was sleeping. He suggested they keep their meeting short. Audra excused herself. Devon appreciated the privacy. Audra said her errands weren't going to run themselves.
Devon said he didn't know why they were there. Lily said Victor stood by his source but suggested that Dumas was the liar, not Victor or Damian. Lily revealed that this could be part of Dumas's plan to take over their company.
Lily shared that she had visited Victor at the Newman ranch to get some more intel, claiming she wanted to know if what Victor had told her was the truth or not. Victor asked Lily if she'd spoken to Damian, but Lily said he had adamantly denied any wrongdoing. Victor said Dumas is trying to make inroads in Genoa City. "He's up to something nefarious, and I'm about to find out what it is," Victor said. He added that Dumas may be out to get something more than the Winters company.
Victor informed Lily that she and Devon were important to him. He wanted to help. Lily said she doesn't know who to believe. Victor suggested that it was possible that both he and Damian were telling the truth and that it was Dumas who was lying.
Nate doubted that Victor cared about Lily and Devon. Lily said she was not sure she'd ever trust Victor, but she wanted to protect what was theirs. Nate said they shouldn't take Victor's word. "I'm sorry, but this is going too far," he said.

Nate feared losing Damian if Lily and Devon kept going after him. Devon said there were a lot of red flags and that they should slow down. Nate told his cousins that he was going to stand by his brother and that he would trust Damian over Victor anytime. Lily hoped that Nate wasn't making a mistake.
