On the Monday, April 28th episode of The Young and the Restless, Claire balks at Kyle’s proposed change of plans, Lily confronts Audra and Holden, and Michael is offended by Victor’s lack of trust.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Kyle led Claire into the Abbott mansion. She gushed that it looked amazing, and Jack gave all the credit to Diane. Claire was taken aback when Kyle asked if she could see them living there. Kyle swore he hadn’t meant to put her on the spot, but his mom had been gently pushing the idea. Claire reminded him that they’d decided neither of their current homes would work for them.
Kyle pointed out that it was a fresh start for his family, and it could be for him and Claire, too. Claire balked, and Jack excused himself to meet Billy for drinks. Jack stressed that Claire was welcome in their house, but there was no pressure. After Jack left, Claire wondered if Kyle had changed his mind about looking for their own place.
Kyle reasoned that finding their own home would take time, and he didn’t want to wait that long to move in with Claire. He added that the Abbott mansion would be a nice interim spot, and it would help the transition for Harrison, who’d need to adjust to her being more of a stepmom than a buddy. Claire admitted she wasn’t prepared for things to move that quickly. Kyle asked if she was having second thoughts.
Claire said she thought she’d have more time to get ready. She pointed out that it was a bigger transition for her than it was for Kyle, and it was all a little scary for her, especially since Summer was bound to lose her mind over the move. Kyle contended that moving into the mansion temporarily would be ideal to ease the transition. Claire countered that she’d also be leaving her own family, whom she was still getting to know. Kyle asked if her parents were okay with her decision.
Claire explained that Cole and Victoria were concerned by how fast things were happening. Kyle questioned whether Victor had gotten to Claire. Claire revealed that she was waiting for the right time to break the news to her grandfather. She swore that no one would bully her into changing her mind, but she wanted her family to be comfortable with her decision. Kyle realized Victor would see it as a betrayal if she moved under the same roof as Jack.
Claire was touched that Kyle didn’t want to wait even a few weeks to move in together, but she preferred to stick to their original plan to find their own place. Kyle urged her to tell Victor that there was nothing he could do about it, and he’d be behind her. Claire said she loved Kyle for it, and they kissed.
Kyle mentioned that Harrison was supposed to see the renovations that day, but it was Summer’s day to pick the boy up. Claire hoped to tell Diane she loved the remodel, but Kyle reported that his mom had late meetings at Jabot. Claire amorously noted that they were there alone, and she pondered how they could fill the time. They giggled as they raced upstairs.
At the Athletic Club, Audra was insulted by Lily’s implication that Audra was keeping secrets from Nate and his family. Lily argued that it hadn’t been the first time Audra had lied to them. Audra recognized that she still had work to do to make amends, but she thought she and Lily had found common ground over their concern for Nate and Amy. Audra accused Lily of trying to goad her into a fight.
Lily apologized if she’d given that impression. Audra stated that Nate’s family’s opinion of her mattered, and she hoped Lily could meet her halfway. Lily hinted that it would help if Audra answered her question about what had happened between Audra and Holden in L.A., since there was nothing about their connection that felt casual or fleeting. Holden gazed at Audra from the bar.
Audra maintained that she and Holden had simply had a brief fling. Lily thought it was obvious from the looks between the two that it had been more. Lily observed that Holden couldn’t stop staring at Audra. Audra defended that she couldn’t help it if a man found her attractive, but she’d made it clear she wasn’t interested in rekindling the relationship. Lily hesitated to take Audra at her word after Audra had hidden her connection to a person who might be involved in trying to take over Lily’s family company.
Audra assumed Lily thought Dumas had his eye on Winters, but she swore she had no connection to him. Audra pointed out that she’d tried to get Holden to tell Lily what he knew about Dumas. Audra hoped Lily would be able to move past her disdain toward Audra, but if Lily couldn’t, Audra didn’t care because she wasn’t going anywhere.
Lily acknowledged that Nate had feelings for Audra. Audra swore she was also trying to become part of Lily and Devon’s lives, but they had put up a brick wall that was hard to crack. Audra was sure Damian felt it, too, but she vowed to keep trying. Audra sauntered out. Lily approached Damian and flatly asked what he and Audra were hiding.
Holden deadpanned that he and Audra had robbed a few banks and taken down some armored cars, but no one had been hurt. Lily noted that he had Audra’s knack for dodging questions, and she bet the two had been fascinating together. Holden denied their relationship had been serious, and he claimed he was happy Audra had found someone as solid and nice as Nate seemed to be. Holden guessed it was in Lily’s nature to be suspicious of everyone and everything.
Lily chided Holden for pretending to understand who she was when he didn’t know her. Holden reminded her that she’d been the one to approach him, and he’d been enjoying his drink until she’d gotten up in his face. He imagined she enjoyed digging up dirt and exposing people because it made her feel superior. Holden commented that a shrink would have a field day with her.
Lily retorted that Holden wasn’t qualified to psychoanalyze her. She taunted that he was just “a barroom charmer with a practiced line of B.S.” Holden conceded that he’d been wrong before, but usually not when reading women. He wished her a good evening and walked away.
Jack met Billy at the jazz club. Jack reported that Ashley was helping get Traci settled in New York, and they toasted to Traci being the strongest one among them. Jack invited Billy to see the changes to the Abbott home, and he applauded Diane for keeping the spirit of the old place, even though everything was new. Jack inquired about what was going on with his newest investment.
Billy assured Jack that the launch of Abbott Communications was on track, but he worried that everything Phyllis had been through was starting to catch up with her. Billy shared that Phyllis had presented her and Daniel as a package deal, but Daniel had backed out, and Phyllis kept pushing to get her son back on board. Billy groused that Phyllis was spending more time bombarding Daniel with calls and messages than she was on the company.
Jack wondered if Billy was frustrated with what Phyllis was going through or if he regretted hiring her in the first place. Billy defended that Phyllis was the best person for the job, and she was dynamite when she was “on.” Jack cautioned that Phyllis always had a side issue, but he was on board if Billy wanted to wait it out. Jack left the call up to Billy.
Michael arrived at the Newman ranch to see Victor. Michael referred to his warning about Diane’s suspicions that Victor was going after Jabot, and Victor imagined Michael didn’t want him to do it. Michael clarified that he was just presenting options the way any attorney would to a client, and he revealed that he’d heard back from Mathison. Michael thought they had a problem.
Michael explained that Mathison hadn’t been returning his calls, but Mathison had suddenly reached out to apologize profusely for ghosting them, claiming he’d had a severe case of the flu. Michael continued that Mathison’s voice had been shaking, and other sources at Jabot had confirmed that he hadn’t missed one day of work. Michael sensed somebody might have turned Mathison, and Victor realized it was why Jack had been giddy the last time Victor had seen him.
Victor doubted Kyle had been involved, but he envisioned the trouble Kyle would be in if he had been. Michael asked what Victor knew about Kyle that Michael didn’t. Victor predicted that Kyle would soon be cleaning up his own mess. Michael sensed there was more to Victor’s comments and intentions, and he complained that it was hard for him to do his job when Victor kept leaving him in the dark. Victor barked that he didn’t quite trust Michael.
Michael questioned what more he had to do, and he dared Victor to name one area where he’d fallen short. Victor growled that Michael should make amends for the rest of his life for helping Jordan escape. Michael bellowed that he’d followed every order, taken on every responsibility, and kept every secret. He demanded to know how Victor could possibly still question his allegiance. Victor condemned Michael for trying to control him by putting up guardrails against his actions. Michael shot back that Victor should be thanking him instead of trying to punish him.
Victor scoffed at the thought of thanking Michael for saving him from himself. Michael accepted that there was no chance of stopping Victor once he’d made up his mind, but it was his job to try if it was in Victor’s best interests. Victor ordered Michael to get Mathison out of Jabot. Michael protested that it would make the Abbotts suspicious, but Victor spat that he didn’t care. Michael walked out and sent a text message to Jack, requesting to meet.
At the jazz lounge, Billy greeted Michael on his way out. Michael joined Jack and said it was time the two of them had a little chat. “What does Victor have planned for me now?” Jack queried.
