Daniel and Tessa continued to talk about his plans for the future. He asked for her help. Tessa wondered how much time Daniel wanted from her. "Just a little here and there," he replied. Daniel said he didn't want to learn how to play the harmonica, but instead, he wanted to know if Tessa would be willing to teach him how to play the guitar.

Daniel said that he's dabbled in the guitar, but nothing serious. Tessa informed Daniel that learning the guitar can be exciting and help him tune out all the noise in his head. She added that it can break your heart and fill you with disappointment. Daniel said he's been living with that. He admitted he was no musical genius, but he had dexterity, and he wanted to learn, fail, and get better. He wanted to move in a forward direction and learn some new things about himself in the process. Daniel theorized that this would be the thing that could help him get unstuck. "I'm in," Tessa said.

Tessa asked Daniel about learning guitar from Danny. Daniel said that he might get emotional. Tessa wondered if he had a guitar. Daniel said he had one that he used to play in front of Heather.

Daniel returned to Crimson Lights with his guitar. Tessa complimented him on it. Daniel shared that his dad's guitar was more expensive. Tessa showed her guitar to Daniel. He offered to trade as she thought Daniel's guitar was so nice. Tessa said that wasn't going to happen because she was connected to hers. She asked Daniel to play. He strummed on the guitar a little bit.

She assured him that he'll get there. Daniel just needs to give it a chance. Tessa suggested that they start with some basic finger placement. Daniel said he remembered the key of C. He played it and said it wasn't so good. She gave him a note, and he took it. "It's getting better," Tessa told her student. They moved on to the key of G. She told him to put his ring finger on a particular cord. Tessa confirmed it was getting better.

Amy and Damian returned from a tour of Genoa City. She enjoyed seeing all her old favorite haunts, including the park before it was named after Katherine Chancellor. Nate said he was glad that they had a good time and that he had an update on her treatment from Dr. Kelly.

Amy commented that she was feeling as well as she had in years. Nate revealed that Dr. Kelly was pleased with Amy's progress and that she'd be an ideal candidate to continue treatment in Boston. Amy wasn't sure what this meant. "It means you have a chance," Nate said.

Amy was worried about the cost of the treatment in Boston. Damian assured his mom that he had this. Nate said that Dr. Kelly wouldn't have suggested the treatment in Boston if she didn't think there was a great chance of success. Both Damian and Amy agreed to the plan of action with her going to Boston. Nate said there was an opening now and that Amy would have to leave tonight for New England.

Amy wondered why she couldn't stay in Genoa City and get treatment. Damian said if it worked out, they'd have more days together. "You want to spend more time with me?" a pleased Amy said. She pointed out, though, that this was happening fast. "Leaving means I'm going to be away from you — both of you — and my sweet Audra," Amy lamented.

Amy noted that going to Boston would mean she'd be giving up her support system. Nate agreed that a support system is important, but that the right protocol is imperative. Amy asked how long she'd need to be in Boston. Nate couldn't give her an answer. It would depend on how she responded to the treatment.

Damian said he'd blow up his mom's phone with messages and visit as often as possible. Nate said Audra would visit, too.

Amy said she'd pack for Boston. Damian announced he was going to charter a plane and that he'd be going with her. Nate asked if there was room for one more. Damian said that wouldn't be a problem. Amy started to cry and suggested that she and Damian get something back. Damian told his mom she needed to fight so that it could happen.

Audra came back to Nate's just in time to say goodbye to Amy for now. Damian and Amy left. Nate told Audra he was going, too. She told him to have a safe flight. Alone, Audra takes out her phone and calls Victor. She wanted to know if the paperwork for her new company was ready to sign. Audra said she was excited to get started.

Over a meal at the Genoa City Athletic Club, Sally quickly brought Audra (before she went back to Nate's) up to speed on Phyllis and Billy. Audra wasn't sure she could get a word in edgewise. She asked Sally what it was about Phyllis that threatened her so much.

Sally suggested that Phyllis go off to a yoga retreat to deal with her ordeal. She added that Billy thought that Abbott Communications depended on Phyllis, but Sally added that it didn't. Sally said she was nervous. Audra suggested that Phyllis may be threatened if Phyllis is looking for more from Billy. It would be a non-issue, Phyllis countered. "Billy would know better...wouldn't he?" Sally asked.

Holden briefly approached Sally and Audra, who shot him down. Sally told Audra she was brutal. "You're holding back," Sally told Audra. "What really happened between you two?"

Audra claimed that what she had with Holden was ancient history. Sally suggested that Holden's feelings are very much in the present. Sally offered to tell Audra her dating history in Los Angeles if she were to tell her about her time with Holden.

The subject shifted back to Phyllis. Audra told her to cut her off at the knees. Sally asked if that meant playing dirty. "Like she wouldn't?" countered Audra. Then, Sally urged Audra to keep Nate away from Holden. "He's not about to give up," Sally suggested. Audra reminded Sally to think about Phyllis and implored her to make the right choice. Then, Sally exited.

Before Audra could go, Holden approached her. He wanted to know what happened to them being friends. Holden asked if he could buy Audra a drink. Audra said she was too busy putting her own company together. Holden wanted to know more. He'd be looking for opportunities himself. Holden said he wanted to feel respect and appreciation. He felt it was a good time to explore new avenues. Audra said Holden knew nothing about her new business, so she didn't need him. He promised to follow her anywhere. Audra said she'd keep that in mind, and then she made a hasty exit.

At Billy's, Phyllis promised Billy that Daniel would be everything he hoped he'd be. She asked him not to worry. Billy said he does worry and that Phyllis should, too.

Phyllis asked if Billy was saying that Daniel was too traumatized. Billy said no. Phyllis said that she was the one who should be traumatized, given her kidnapping ordeal and losing Heather. Billy said Daniel was only thinking about Abbott Communications because of his mother.

Phyllis didn't believe Billy's theory about Daniel. She said his life has to be more than about grieving. She said she'll be with him every step of the way. Billy suggested that no one can determine Daniel's identity other than him. "He's going to have to figure out his own path," Billy stated. "You have to let him go."

Phyllis recalled Daniel's time in Savannah when he spiraled. She said she didn't want that to happen again. Phyllis admitted that Daniel would have backed away from Abbott Communications earlier if it hadn't been for his mom. Billy pressed and asked to know what Daniel's initial response was. The Abbott heir disagreed that Daniel didn't need much convincing. He suggested that Phyllis show Daniel how much she loves him by letting her son go and do his own thing.

Billy said he'd wish Phyllis and Daniel well if she couldn't choose between her job and her son. Then, Sally entered. She asked what was up. Billy revealed that he gave Phyllis an ultimatum. She either needed to let Daniel go or they would part professionally.

Phyllis announced that she was going to have to rethink her partnership with Billy. He agreed that that was a good idea. Billy added that he wanted her on board, but it would have to be on his terms. Phyllis left. Sally asked what she had walked in on between Billy and Phyllis.
